    I'm a Kenyan and I'm enjoying seeing her lighten up when talking about owning land in Zambia. The laws she talks about are typical to most African countries.

      Thank you for watching from Kenya! You're right, after colonialism most African countries wanted their citizens to be the beneficiaries of land ownership

      @@BuyingPropertyinZambia Not really an African thing, and if it was a Kenyan would be allowed to buy land in Zambia and vice-versa, which is not the case!

    Welp, I was excited about Zambia for a second but since foreigners can't buy land, it's off my list. Why does this seem so difficult? I thought Africa wanted the diaspora to come?

    • @jayavatar1577
      @jayavatar1577 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Diaspora means Zambians leaving abroad, and they have the same rights as Zambians in Zambia (I guess, cause I'm not Zambian).
      Something else you might not know, a friend a mine who just visited Zambia said it's corrupt, you can pretty much get accused of something you didn't do and get stripped all your stuff. Zambia is also a NO to me.

    I'm an Afro-descendant from New York City, I visited Zambia in 2018 and fell in love with the country. My Zambian friend told me of a piece of land on the Copper Belt, that her friend is selling at a good price, but it sounds so complicated with the shares and whatnot. Has anything changed since this video was published?

    I really had considered coming to Zambia. Yes that's 76% percent Zambian ownership it is a deal breaker. I can't see myself putting down a multi million dollar facility and not owning the land that it sits on. And only having 24% control control in something that I spend millions of dollars for at the same time possibly yielding a 35% tax rate to the country and an employing at least 50 to 100 people In a 24 hour day operation. thatneeds to be Revisited and Re evaluated. That type of thinking will stifle the country's growth.

    • @BuyingPropertyinZambia
      @BuyingPropertyinZambia  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      If you're planning a multi million dollar investment then obviously you'd apply for an investment licence that would allow for 100% ownership

  • @IvanDL_PR

    I'm not Zambian, but I still want to buy land. I've been following the African Union representative to the US for awhile now, and she has mentioned a new project called the African Village. From my understanding, they want to create a home village for the African diaspora, based on the movie Black Panther. The African village is going to be in Zambia, right on the border with Zimbabwe, by the Zambezi Falls. So, I'm assuming there will be some exceptions to the rules.

      Did you mean the Victoria falls? Anyway, there is little available on the Zambian side along or near the Zambezi river except the Kazungula area. Most of the land in that area, if not all, is traditional land. FYI, over 90% of land in Zambia is traditional land owned by Chiefs and not the government.

    Hi. As a non -Zambian, I would love to buy land to build houses for humanitarian reasons. Is that possible? My parents are volunteers in Zambia on Work permits. Please advise.

      The best way would be to form a trust with charitable objectives but it would have to be approved by the authorities

    If I have $500k or 1 million, why would I come to zombis to buy a house. I would have tones of better chances in other countries all over the world. I can have a passport of any country in Europe or America or Canada. Be realistic Zambia, and know your value in the market, you are over priced. Seriously? $500k just to be allowed to own property?

    • @BuyingPropertyinZambia
      @BuyingPropertyinZambia  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No one is forcing you... and the $500k is to obtain an INVESTMENT LICENCE that provides other tax benefits and incentives, one of which allows you to buy property.

      @@BuyingPropertyinZambia I am not talking about myself. This is an open international market. After Corona most of the countries in the world opened their boarders for investors trying to attract them by offering them good incentives. It is obvious you are siding with your country.for emotional reasons. If you really love your country and want its benefit you will think with your mind would want things to change in order to keep it competitive in the market.

      @@shalal8746 $500 is only for an investment permit as she stated.
      I’m Zambian and she is merely letting everyone know of the requirements. These are the laws that were ratified through parliament. Every country has its laws and nobody is forced to move here especially if they don’t qualify in any of these categories.
      If you do your research many other African countries have similar and in cases even more stringent laws.
      She is doing a great job because she is sharing the truth not based on emotions as you put it but according to our laws here.

      @@shalal8746 So independent African nations can't think on their own they still have to be governed and ratified by British Parliament. That was put in place to keep control of the African continent. So that it won't become the dominant continent in the world. Nobody wants to see Africa truly flourish because of that exact reason

    • @shalal8746
      @shalal8746 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@nkhosiamankhosi1454 Now you want to hide behind "parliament ratified". Bad governments, corruption, wrong and ill advised decisions is the main reason why Africa is so poor with all this resource under its feet.
