One of the things I liked about this particular stop on the tour, aside from the obvious “in the round”, was the fresco walls. Do you happen to know what was supposed to be next to the one of St John at 4:14? That story was also a new part of his history for me… The high center arches above the altar at 7:40 presented a striking contrast for me as compared to the circular structure of the building itself. The Schola Santorum at 8:27 just adds to the effect. It brings the attention of the worshipper to the center as it should, whereas the arches above the frescos seamlessly blend in unobtrusively. A very interesting and unique stop on the tour 😊🙏🏻
Yes our family will attend the Tridium. I miss going to the vigil but Easter morning mass is just as beautiful! Thank you so much for these outstanding Lenten pilgrimages. Really appreciate both the church history and the art .

The altar was in the center yes, but that tabernacle was much larger and sat upon the high altar.
