as a former US Navy sailor, thanks for the sea chantys! 'It be sett'n the mood to build pyrate models to be shure!' Im waiting on my copy of 'Freebooters last leg' to arrive so I can start me own Pyrate model collection! Thanks for the inspiration!! Them there scallywags at Amazon ought be portin' it to me ship on Tuesday to be sure...aaaarrrrrrrr!! :)
Great build; thanks for video. I remember building the Pirates of the Caribbean kits back in the 70's. I really enjoy your passion. Keep up the excellent work.
Excellent build Chris. Man the paint job was outstanding, especially the octopus, the "slime" on Mister Eight Legs and the deck was brilliant. The weathering on the wood was spot on. Also the joke was funny too, made my day. Again excellent kit and build. 👍
Hey Chris! Love when ya do kits like this and I think the octopus and wood treatments on this are exceptional. I think I speak for all your fans when I request that once you do the last Pirate kit, DUEL TO THE DEATH, you show us a beauty shot of all 7 Jolly Rogers together. You did Hex Marks the Spot in 2017. Wow, 3 years and they're finally all available. Keep the enthusiasm coming by the truckload!
At the 11:37 mark the base has been sprayed with 2 different browns and looks...well...brown. When you start to brush dry brush it at about the 13:00 mark the base appears to be almost a uniform grey (compare it to the barrel which is clearly still brown toned) did I miss a step in the process? I love your longer videos detailing the builds. In future videos would you kindly show how you remove paint from parts in order to glue them? Something like this would be helpful to us novice builders. Thanks Chris and keep those videos coming!
I love these pirate kits and your pure enthusiasm in building them. Superior paint job Chris, especially the awesome octopus. Thanks for another wonderful video. Stay safe and smooth sailing Matey. Arghh!🏴☠️
Arrr! This is so fun and old school. Reminds me of going to Disney World when I was little. Not really the kind of build I'd ever do, but you really make it look tempting with all the fun texture you can do. Well done!
Back in 1973 my 9 year old brother had all these kits. He also had a lead casting kit. He would take out the plastic gold coins and make a plaster cast and then make lead coins and then spray them with gold paint. He then took them to the beach each Summer. At this beach in Sarasota at the point of Rocks he would drop the coins down deep in rock crevices that could be seen but not reached. We would sit on the beach and laugh as snorkelers thinking they had hit treasure tried to get at them while not alerting anyone on the beach. These AMC models were really creepy as he painted them with florescent paint and then put a black light on and they had a sickly yellowish-green glow to them. I was hardly surprised when weird stuff started happening in our house at night but that is another story....
Been watching your channel for a while now and your videos continue to get better and better. Really like how you've started to go into more how to and technical details. I've learned alot that's for sharing.
With so many builds. What do you do with all your built models. I'd love to see a video on all your builds displayed. Always enjoy your builds it'd be great to see some old ones again
Awesome work and awesome fun just pure awesomage!!☺️ If you can't find the lquidtex stuff, you can use Mop and Glow. It makes a great wet surface effect. 👍👍
Has anyone had any issues with Tamiya mark fit decal. Just bought a new bottle couple days ago and the couple times I have used it when it drys it's cloudy. I'm using the same paints and clear coats.
I remember back in the day, when these were first released, they just sat on the hobby shop shelves. Did not seem to sell. Perhaps they are doing better this time around?
Not really my thing and i was going to pass on watching but im glad i hung in and watched the whole video. Great use of color and i was impressed with how good it turned out. Take care and be well.
What is so cool is u get effects with cheap craft paint and spray cans that figure builders try to get with their super fancy pants airbrush, lol, sticking it to the man,lol
once again another awesome video! espical the opening and your $6000.00 one of kid sock HAHAHA love how your videos are chris! like u say. modeling is supposed to be FUN!! dont need $25 wash! make ur own. thanks man!
His pal would have less chance of escaping the octopus chained to the anchor. If the octopus pulls him off the raft, and the anchor falls off too, he'll be pulled under.
ROFL- that xl6000 $2.000.00 cotton sock, because 'you NEED control and the right quality fibers to properly wash your models! Only the XL6000 is specially formulated to work with plastic and model paints the right way! While yer at it- buy our exclusive $25.00 washes- they've been painstakingly formulated and mixed by hand in the presence of unicorns to make sure you have the best quality wash for your model!' Oh Chris do keep up the wonderful sense of humor!!!
@@hpiguy Oh give it time, Tamiya will find a way to overcharge by 30 for the same thing :) Ya don't have to go in debt to get good model supplies. I just paid 88 cents at Wal Mart for a nice little cutting and sorting tray for small parts
LOL--"Escape The Testicles of Fate". That is the funniest thing I've heard today! Thanks so much, I needed that!
Glad you got the joke!
This is the best I've seen here so far, with that incredible glossy/wet effect. The colors of the garments are perfect this time around.
2nd! ..........Way different! Never thought a small diorama could have so much detail. Thanks for the behind the scenes technical instructions!
More to come!
Another FANTASTIC build!!.. Looks just like a scene from the movie!!.. Keep up the great work Bud!!
Thanks a bunch!
Love when you do these pirate ones - so many neat things to see. Great job.

This really is the bare bones of a kit, sorry, I couldn't help it, great build and paint job

hi their i bought the kit x marks the spot after i saw your build ,nice change and different, thank you .
Glad you like it!
Damn. I NEED that kit, and it's out of production/stock. Hope they do another run.
I remember back in the day, when these were first released, they just sat on the hobby shop shelves. Did not seem to sell. Perhaps they are doing better this time around?
this same set is just setting in my local walmart, its been there for ages now, you make me feel bad for this set now just sitting there
I had the model as a little kid, The Anchor, Barrel and the octopus survived for man year. The other parts went the way of the pool skimmer.
Not really my thing and i was going to pass on watching but im glad i hung in and watched the whole video. Great use of color and i was impressed with how good it turned out. Take care and be well.

BAAA HAHAHAH ! ! ! Thanks Chris !
Rock on!
Great work, or fun.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Again, another good one. I was wondering, there's like 4-5 of those out there right now do they link together to make some kind of huge diorama?
Not that I know of, they are each their own scene from the Disney ride.

Thanks Bryan!
This would look great on a water base
True!
A lot of well detailed parts in this kit.. Should be a realistic appearance...
Aarrrgg Maytey - fine wurk, this...
Thank you!
Is there anything I can do to prevent my decal sheet from cracking? Thank you for your help.
Hot tap water and spray them with decal bonder before you use them.
@@hpiguy
Great ..
Thanks 😃
I take it that he is cutting the chains so that the octopus will take his "buddy" away to devour, and he will be able to sail away.
LOL, maybe! Ruthless pirates to the end!
His pal would have less chance of escaping the octopus chained to the anchor. If the octopus pulls him off the raft, and the anchor falls off too, he'll be pulled under.
Who's the music artist you're sharing during the build?
Random tracks from the YT free music website.
Hey Chris, where is the sea shanty music from?
Random tracks from YT free music. Just search 'sea' or 'navy'.
@@hpiguy thanks
I wonder what the original name of this kit was?
Good question, I'm sure a viewer knows.

testicles.........san diego diet......... you got off a few good rippers on this one sir 👍
You got that right!
With the finish on the octopus the area around the testicles, ahem ☺, I mean tentacles, looks like the skin is more translucent. Great job.
Thanks Boba, as always!
Poor octopus is gonna starve with what little meat be on those bones!
Arrr, his beak be chipped on them bones!
💀💀👍👍
Thanks!
This kit is a bit different....
Ha! Testicles...Giggity.
hehehe, sometimes we have to step back and be a bit immature for fun!
your commentary sale more model kits than you know "Testicles of fate" ...lol SOLD
Thanks Joe!
Testicles ....... yea right
I only see 5 testicles, err I mean tentacles. So it would be a quintopus?
Maybe lost a few in the war?
More like the Karen Carpenter diet lol
Why do vultures suddenly appear?
Pirates weapons are `cutlasses` not `sabers`.
Pokey rusty no no toys?
