I've had a 1999 C4 in my garage for the past year and a half, and I still stare at it every time I go in the garage (I love the front bumper and headlights--I also have a 991 and have owned other 911s, including a 964 and a 993, but the 996 front is so cool and so slick). I do drive it often and have managed to put around 4k miles on it since I bought it (and it only has 19.5K miles on the odometer). I would really love to see it go up in value because it's truly an amazing car.

I love the 996 porsches. They are getting rare to see on the street but when I do see one it's like a diamond in the rough.

Mike C I would agree, I used to see them a lot a few years ago and now they’re getting uncommon. Not yet rare in my opinion, but seeing a very clean or nicely optioned one is quite rare. Now would be a good time to pick one up.

Yes the prices are staring to creep up but I can't see it getting as crazy as the air cooled models for a long, long while. Your yellow example in this video is low mileage and those, both 996 and Boxster S, are attractively priced right now and highly desirable. I bought a 996 C4s 2 years ago and they seem to have gone up around 5 to 10% over that time here in the UK. There's no shortage of supply either. Buy one now cos they ain't getting any cheaper!

Kaffee Racer The 996 is a mass produced 911 and that’s awesome to hear that you purchased one and have seen the appreciation benefits! Also greetings from the USA.

@@hectornieves7611 Yes, production process was changed and more were able to be made and sold, however, there were less total 996's than the 997's I believe

I can't believe I bought one a few days ago for dirt cheap, low miles and clean title.

Hector, you cracked me up when you said "like the good ol' days". lol You're like in what... in your mid 20s? While I respect your opinion, the auction data speaks otherwise. Unless you're talking about 996 Turbo, GT3, or GT2 series, most standard 996 Carreras (especially the cabriolet) are continuing to depreciate. There are a few exceptions, but not the trend in my opinion.

B3freak 😂 I’m glad I can be entertaining to you. Also I’m in my early 20s, so even younger than you thought, but I do understand how the 996s Top Tier level cars are appreciating in value and I was specifically talking about how even base models are creeping up in value. Also thinking long, perhaps 3-5 years, the 996s will be noticeably creeping up in value. The thing about Porsche’s is everybody hates a certain model and then it becomes cool.

Never was as big an issue as was reported, a lot of scare mungering and non 911 guys shouting it out, guys that could never even buy a 911, also many have been upgraded now, if they haven't broke by now then they probably won't as they are all well over 15yrs old now!

For the DIY'er it's a $180 for stock update IMS and as low as $400 for a upgraded oil feed needle bearing IMS plus $300 for a clutch if you decide to replace it while you're in there.
Most of the IMS bearing failure failure cars have low miles and we're very really driven

@@kevindamvorisbacon424 yes I think your right, I have heard and read from porsche experts that the low mileage ones are actually the ones to be worried about.
