*This is genuinely hard to believe. The cancelled/lost Team Rocket VS Team Plasma episodes... HAVE BEEN RECOVERED! I got to imagine that if the original plans for the series happened as scheduled, then the Decalore arc at the very end probably would never have happened. What 8-10 other episodes may have been in the pipeline? I'm left to wonder.
Oh my god you remember that XD it was such a big flash, when they talked about it on the news they showed it again.. and sent another 4 kids to hospital..
I genuinely think that episode is SUCH a cool one in terms of concept and storyline... it felt so unique and special! It's just a tragedy that it led to so much pain and distress. I'd welcome them remastering it, since it has been so long since it first aired!
What Pikachu was the cause of the accident because it used a Electric Type Attack which reflected a lot of Light off of Porygon body! It's not Porygon fault but the problem is it's body which can be fixed if they evolve it into Porygon 2!?
@@Pokeferlax Especially when the flash was actually Pikachu’s fault, not Porygon’s. Yet, we have Captain Pikachu, Detective Pikachu, Monarch-slaying OP Ash’s G-Max Pikachu, Let’s Go, Pikachu, and every other iteration of the yellow Mickey while Porygon is only “canon” in the core games.
@@Pokeferlax I usually like to say BW could have been what XY has been Like there was total potential for that, and I even considered writing an alternate version of the unova anime back in high school. The existence of this cancelled arc only makes my thesis more solid
@@casteddu6740 You never know. Much like the Sesame Street Wicked Witch episode that, after 40 years, someone snatched a film reel of that copy and uploaded it to the internet, hopefully some employee in that company finds a way to get into the vault, snatches the two copies in some backpack, and upload the entire episodes in full to some torrent site or even online for people to download and re-upload if TPC/TV Tokyo starts flagging down the episodes. You'd be surprised there are people out there who actually hunt for this stuff and get the episodes off the black market or steal the original copies of the episodes in secret and eventually get put online for all to see adn watch what could have been, but never happened in the first place. It's like looking at a piece of history like it's buried treasure never touched for hundreds of years and having to research why it was gone for that length of time.
Having finished reading the script of these lost episodes, I can say with absolute certainty, that the Best Wishes anime aka the Black and White anime could have and would have been significantly changed had these aired. We were robbed of something that, I personally think wouldn't have been as good as the Team Flare crisis, but it would have been in that ballpark. Absolutely incredible read.
I knew that the 2011 Earthquake impacted the BW anime hard, but I had no idea that the earthquake took place literally when the structurally most important episodes were about to air. That must have been an insane blow. And yet the people working on the anime gave us the arcs like the Nimbasa Subway Episodes, Clubsplosion following the Mistralton Tower and even Operation Tempest ... Man, they actually worked so hard, and yet all they heard mostly was backlash from the fans.
Yep, it's honestly crazy how heavily BW was impacted by that tragedy. They had to rework and rewrite soooo much! And despite that, like you said, we still got some incredible arcs! I think the staff of BW deserve a lot more love and credit than they get from the fanbase, because it's clear they were in between a rock and a hard place, and yet they still created some great stuff! 😊
A couple years back i made a long fanfic that basically rewrote the whole BW series. One major inspiration was these two episodes so i made my own interpretation. So to see them actually see the light of day is just surreal.
@Stache King oh it wasn't close at all. I had Team Rocket with Pierce and Dr Zager steal the Meteonite from the Nacrene Museum and then Team Plasma chases them to Castelia where they have a non-building-destroying battle in the streets. Ash and his new companions Hilda and N fight off both teams with Alder and Burgh getting involved. Ash goes with Alder to the Desert Resort to stop anyone from taking it where they confront the Shadow Triad and Rocket executive Archer. The Meteonite being exposed to the harsh desert sun and responding to the Relic Castle reveals it was a Volcarona in a catatonic state. It starts attacking everyone. The Shadow Triad retreat, Jessie, James, and Meowth are sent blasting off agaaaaaiiiinn, Archer and Zager escape to be seen later, and Pierce slips away and forms a series long grudge against Ash for ruining his perfect record to the point he joins Ghetsis, then later Colress just to get revenge. Alder catches Volcarona, which he later gives to Benga who Ash battles in the Unova League. Ashs team is different too, and this moment is when his new Mienfoo starts to open up when it saves Ash's Dewott as it has an attitude.
An easy fix that the producers could of done could just be.. delayed. Just push it further after the aftermath of the earthquake. B&W was the anime that introduced me to Pokémon and it kinda sucks that it had to be redone cause of it :'D
I think that was originally their plan, to delay it and air it later on in the year. But for some reason they changed their mind, and decided to scrap it and rewrite the series. I'm not really sure why to be honest, and I don't think we'll ever know. Maybe they found out B2W2 were releasing the year after, so they decided to focus on that instead...? 🤔
@Pokeferlax I find it funny how setup for a whole series was canceled and not postponed, while the next series _would_ postpone and not cancel a random filler episode due to WWIII paranoia.
Exactly. Aside from a the tournament arcs barring the unova league, the mini team rocket arcs they had, and most of rival Destinies, they basically screwed up big time
I'm really happy, I remember being so hyped for this back in the day, and it was so disappointing they had been cancelled. (Even tho it was totally understandable why.) It's amazing that the scripts are finally out after all these years! (Hopefully, the episodes themselves surface one day too. It's cool they'd even teased Ghetsis!)
Seeing the WHOLE episodes someday would be a dream! And now that the scripts have leaked... I have hope that maybe someday we'll get the full episodes too! Perhaps in another 12 years... 😆 it's genuinely surreal thinking about how they were introducing Ghetsis in Episode 23! That's so early, it would've been incredible!
@@Pokeferlax *Episode 24 is when Ghetsis would be introduced. 23 was the one that introduced Team Plasma right before it, though the name "Team Plasma" also was first revealed in 24.
@@Pokeferlax Again, if the anime company did a 30th Anniversary Blu-Ray release of all of the episodes from seasons 1 to 23, including the banned episodes that never aired, and also a documentary on the seizure incident and why the law of strobe lights is still in effect to this very day, and why it has affected many forms of entertainment that once used strobe lights in the past before December 1997, only to never use them again or only use them briefly in some scenes where it's needed. it's why all of the explosions from 1997 and before were able to get away with it because there was no law preventing companies from showing bright lights on bulb lit CRTs. But After February 1998 every entertainment company had to follow the seizure law or face thousands of dollars in fines, and even jailtime for having children 7 and under get seizured. As well as behind the scenes and meeting with the voice actors adn even the writers whom made the show possible in the first place. And even interview the children that have expierence the porygon seizure nearly 30 years later after the incident happened and form their perspective, how they felt back when they were children or even when some had seizures in the first place. It's be interesting to see how those parents and children felt when it happened on that day in 1997. As for the other episodes, again, the company would have to put disclaimers on all banned episodes explaining why it was banned in the first place. This way if anyone complained about someone getting seizured or heck, even seeing graphic content not made for children, the anime company wouldn't get sued over someone that didn't read the warnings or disclaimers about it. Again, something I would mention that I would love to see someday in 2026.
Man that would have been so cool. I’m sure the fans could make there own stories out of this. Heck I can imagine you making an amazing texting story series. ❤
@@Pokeferlax Well, some stuff still would have been the same, based on how animation works, I'm pretty sure by the time this two-parter was supposed to air, the staff should have had probably at least up to episode 35 to 40 either done or at the very least the scripts would have been finished and they would have started filming at least. So I think up until the gang reaches Nimbasa City things would have been mostly unchanged, but I think by the time we reached the 4th Gym, given what happens in the games at that point in the story, things would have been altered. I think the Gym Battles still would have been mostly unchanged(which sucks because Ash vs Elisa is terrible) but the episode right before the battle or right after the battle might have been different since we always have an episode right before the Gym Battle so Ash and the gang can properly meet the Gym Leader and get to know them or right after the Gym Battle where the Leader does something to tell us a little about their character, so its very possible some of these pre or post-Gym Battle episodes where suppose to involve the Gym Leader in question helping Ash and the gang with Team Plasma. It's even possible the 8th Gym Battle with Roxie was always going to happen, since by the time this rewrite occurred, the writers would have most likely only had Elisa's battle maybe Clay's planned out so that would have given them plenty of time before they were set to get to Draydian so his battle shouldn't have been affected. It's very likely the change to have Roxie as the 8th Gym Leader was more to tie into BW2 and to appease the fans who were not happy that there were no older Pokemon in Unova in the anime, rather than having to do with the Team Plasma stuff having to be reworked.
I'm still in shock that the scripts got leaked FINALLY AFTER OVER A DECADE! it would have been great to actually see this air, though I understand why it got pulled from the network
I felt super bummed hearing about the way Team Plasma was so heavily changed for the anime because of what happened at that time. Team Plasma is still to this day my favorite evil team, even after I've played Legends Arceus (I adored that games' story), so I was super sad to hear about how they became super mediocre in the end.
They truly did deserve a more special storyline, and I think we would've got that if these episodes didn't get cancelled! It's really sad to think about 😭
@@Pokeferlax like if they were going to bring team plasma in later, we could have had a similar plot to the climax of black and white where they interrupt the league, we have a clash between both legendary dragons and ash takes on Ghetsis with all the gym leaders helping
I’ll never forget how disappointed my 17 yr old self was when the episodes got cancelled shortly before they were supposed to air. We were soo hyped, originally they delayed it I guess eventually since we got so far in the anime and plus BW2 had a new Team Plasma, the writers decided to just rework it in a different way. Still wish they would’ve aired it maybe as a standalone special or perhaps include it on a Blu-ray set for the BW anime.
In my school vr game, there was an intense battle in the mission called paradise where team rainbow rocket is back but are taking on team star and a powerful new character novera (the queen of the ultra beasts she may look like if lily and 01 from darling in the franxx had a baby but she is incredibly powerful like she's so powerful in her totem state she commands and put legendaries under a spell and FYI it took a lot to exhaust her) which revealed 2 things 1 Goalius had a z move that's way too risky and 2 novera is Goalius mom
I just passed that part where those we're supposed to air a few days ago I'm currently trying to watch every episode of Pokemon with the movies in order and this is so awesome can't wait to find the time to sit and read it
Crazy or two episodes could have lead a whole different story in the black and white anime and now I feel all this time we get the script to them that's honestly pretty cool 10/10
Black and White is my top series along SM, I was sooo hyped for that two parter, and it still stings when I think about what it could have been, this was such a cool thing!
BW is my top series too! And if we both love it soooo much as it is, then I can't imagine just how much MORE we would've loved it if they followed their original plans, starting with those two episodes... 😭 BW would've been just phenomenal!
@@Pokeferlax Agreed! I am so disappointed on the writers, this is not just some Whiscash episode, this was the foundation of the whole BW series! They could have released these as an OVA after the season was over at least, try to salvage those great plans!
This makes _so_ much sense now! I grew up with the gen 4 anime and lead into gen 5 anime, and my first Pokémon games were Black and White (I _still_ really need to play the sequel games) so I never really noticed it, but now it all makes sense! If things hadn't been overhauled so much, it would've changed _everything!!!_ Conflict like that would've likely meant Ash and his friends would've met N soon after and could've made the Unova series intense with Team Plasma's motives and N's interactions would've been so different, likely to even actually battle him instead of just being that guy in the background that doesn't like Pokémon battles, we could've seen a Zorua introduced much sooner. I personally feel like the debate of if the Zoroark movie was canon might've been more easily resolved and _made_ canon if they weren't in panic mode. Ash might've never had his dumbest gym battle in the entire anime against Elesa (dumb by his intelligence, not by anime bs like the Thunder Armor or the sprinklers on Onix). Almost the entirety of the Unova anime might've been amazing (barring the obvious...I'm looking at you Pikachu-who-lost-to-a-Level-5-Snivy). It sucks how badly Mother Nature can screw things up without even effecting something directly.
Those two episodes legitimately almost singlehandedly got me back into the Pokémon anime, I remember seeing the trailer for them and being more excited for some new episodes of pokemon than I ever had in my life, and I was so incredibly hyped to see where it would all go. When they got cancelled, I was gutted, and then when they started reusing stills from it for newer episodes I gave up, and I didn't return to the anime until watching Journeys last year There's no other anime moment I'd like to see more, but especially with everything you mentioned that had to get retconned, it's a permanent blemish I'll never recover from 😰
Something a lot like this happened even further in the past with the transformers franchise. Late 2000s - early 2001 hasbro decided to officially port a transformers anime for English speaking audiences. But during the airing of the dub episodes 9/11 happened and they had to do a mad scramble of editing to minimulize references to urban destruction.
It is utterly terrifying how because these two episodes were not able to be aired, the Black and White anime just got completely reworked and suffered as a result.
If this leads to the episodes getting recovered too then I’ll be absolutely down with it. Speaking as a BW enjoyer, I wish we got a version of the series with Team Plasma as a massive focus instead of a smaller arc near the end of the series
I definitely need to see these episodes, these plot stories are good! I just wish Pokémon can do some kind of story of Team Rocket meeting with other team villains too, it would be very interesting to see how they can interact with each other or battle for some goal too!
I’m really happy!! Thank you so much ferlax!! I just read the script and it was amazing 😻 I really wish all this happened in the black and white series ❤
Usually I never bother to read 37 pages of anything but this was the only time in my life where I actually sat down and read it. In some ways it didn’t even feel like a Pokémon episode.
Haha I know what you mean! The scripts were fantastic and so easy to read, I thoroughly enjoyed it! And I so badly wish the episodes would've aired fully! 😭
So That's WHY for me back then, the introduction to Team Plasma seems off... Like they just introduced out of nowhere without much time or exposure. Now it all makes sense, not only in that part, but also remember: Zekrom was introduced in Ep. 1 (though not visibly because it was atop in dark clouds if I remember correctly) when Pikachu can't use his Thunderbolt. And after that, Zekrom just vanished and never appeared again in series. Instead, Reshiram had an appearance. If Ash had communication with Zekrom, maybe the story progresses way even more, and maybe we can understand the 'truth" and "ideals" from the legendaries, and what would Ash be in this. Will he pursue truth, just like N, or will he pursue ideals? Man, if these lost episodes aired as they claim to be 'lost', then we will get more answers and the story progresses greatly.
Yep, it makes everything make sense! Team Plasma were originally meant to be recurring villains for the ENTIRE series, and Zekrom was originally intended to play a huge part in that storyline too (hence why it appeared in Episode 1). There's sooooooo much that we lost because of these episodes being cancelled; it greatly changed the course of the entire series. Personally I think they were going down the route of Ash being Zekrom's chosen hero, and N being Reshiram's chosen hero. And then Ash and N would've battled each other with Zekrom and Reshiram, before joining sides to take down Ghetsis. It would've been absolutely perfect!
@@Pokeferlax Also notable that head writer Atsuhiro Tomioka repurposed that premise for XY - Ash and Alain are both "heroes" but Alain works for the villains, they battle each other at the League, Team Flare launches an uprising at the League, Ash and Alain join sides to take down Lysandre.
If this Team Rocket VS Team Plasma 2 parter aired in Japan it would change the entire Black & White anime like you just said Pokeferlax. Still awesome video. 👍
It truly would've changed everything, the series would've been soooooo different! All we can do is dream of how it could've been! 😆 thanks so much for watching!
@@Pokeferlax I do have to point out that most of the pre-Season 2 episodes of BW were already produced or in production by the time 3/11/11 occurred, so the only thing that got cut were these two episodes and a Team Plasma reappearance at the Black Hero's ruins before Crocoroc reappeared as well. But the episodes cancellation along with the making of B2W2 definitely changed the form of the Team Plasma arc from what the staff initially envisioned, and severed Team Rocket's connection to it as well.
An idea, when gen 5 remakes is around the corners we could potentially see the writer rewrite the BW saga completely with Ash, Iris, and Cilan in an alternate series where this episode has happened, Ash will catch the Sandile that he helped with before it even evolves into Kroakrock, Cynthia will still appeared and battle against Catilyn and later the Elite Four will battle against Ash, instead of losing to the idiot who only had bring 5 Pokemons, Ash will defeat him and lose to Vergil in the Pokemon League, and will battle Iris in the final Unova Pokemon Gym Battle instead of Roxie.
I don't think this would have fully gotten rid of the criticisms BW had during the time that it aired, but it's possible it could have soften the blow in certain aspects. For anticipated episodes as THOSE were and yet hasn't really gotten reworked; in terms of buildup for what became the Meloetta arc and episode N, it feels like there's still some unanswered questions about the series' structure as a whole.
I read the script &, I can see why this episode got banned, the 2nd part especially was too close to home at the time. I would still love this script to be reused sometime in the future, possibly in a future arc for Horizons.
To be honest, back during September 12th and October 1st, anything featuring towers collapsing and planes flying into buildings had to be pulled or outright banned in America due to the September 11th attacks on 09/11/01. The same thing happened with one of the movies having to change the title from "Killing Mr. Teacher" to "Teaching Ms. Teacher" due to the Columbine shootings. Heck, one of the episodes of a 2007 show accidentally aired an episode that was supposed to be a joke about police officers shooting random people and playing the "What cha say" song, but a few days later on 04/18/07, the Virginia Tech shooting occurred adn at that time it was considered the deadliest shooting in america by a single man (That now belongs to the Las Vega Shooting on 10/21/17). Not to mention another episode from the Pokemon Advanced Generation even had a whiscash episode that was banned before it even aired due to an earthquake occuring in October 2004. So believe me, some shows would ever air stuff that was too close to home with earthquakes happening the same day. It's basically like living the experience the people on the movie set "EarthQuake" by Universal Pictures went through in the 1970s in the Los Angeles area, but happening in real life and awful tragedies occurred. I do remember this incident nearly 12 years ago and it was the day before my brother's birthday, what I usually refer to this incident as the "9/11" for Japan but in dsaster. Nuclear fusion spilled into the ocean, buildings collapsed, Waves flooding towns, yeah it was a horrible time to be a Japanese person if you were living in those areas. It's basically the equivalent of Hurricane Sandy in the Northeast USA in New Jersey, New York, and Deleware between October 28th and November 8th, 2012. (Aka, The Noreaster Storm). To be honest, whether a bombing, mass shooting, a terrorist attack, or even disasters can cause episodes that were once cleared for airing pulled or outright shelved due to events that take place similar to the shows in anime and cartoons. And we see that within the past century that episodes and animated stuff had to be censored or banned for various reasons, going from black stereotypes to even real life terrorist attacks and adult clothing in kids cartoons. It sucks, but at least the script of the episodes are out, but I've yet to see someone actually sneak into the building somehow and get the copies of the tapes that were supposed to air, and release them to the public. This is way I'm hoping for the 30th anniversary that the pokemon company would do a Blu-Ray release called "Pokemon: Banned Episodes That Have Never Aired In Japan" And it includes a collection of episodes that were outright banned in Japan released to the public in 4k quality, with disclaimers mentioning the reasons behind their ban and why they felt it was too graphic for the time to showcase them in children's anime. I wouldn't be surprised if someone made an analog horror series detailing the events between September 1997 and February 1998 of the Porygon Seizure Event, that I would love to see someone make a documentary about that event, that leads to this very day why warning people about seizures are a big must after the law was passed in 1998, as well as fan-made content of what the Black and White Part 1 and 2 episodes could have been like had they be released to the public. It's quite a shame when an episode that was ready to air ends up pulled or shelved without any kind of release, even after the disasters or terrorist attacks have long been passed by over the decades. And while some people claim that the episodes may be lost to time, it might as well be a similar situation to the harry potter movies 4-8 deleted scenes and content that is locked away in a Warner Brothers vault, hence why the anime company most likely shelved the animation into a vault, never to be seen by the public for god knows how long. Hopefully the full episodes may be released someday, similar to the banned Sesame Street episode from 1972 that was thought to be lost to time, released to the public thanks to a person whom snatched a film reel copy of that episode and released it to the public, after 40 years of the episode being locked away in a vault. So much like that Sesame Street Wicked Witch episode, hopefully the three banned episodes (The Wishcash One, and these two) get released to the public someday. But we'll just have to wait and see.
After reading the Script, I'm led to believe that we'd have seen N much earlier and a Part two of this Evil Team War. Ash would have to become more powerful knowing the looming threat that is upon them.
Man, I remember being extremely excited for these episodes as a kids. The fan theories and conversations around these episodes were a sure throwback. I'm just so glad that we can at least read the storyline.
If only we could travel back in time and stop the Pacific Plate from rubbing and cracking against the Eurasian Plate to prevent the Tohoku Earthquake, not only saving these two episodes and the rest of the Black and White anime but also save the lives of all the people that were lost on that dreadful day.
It's genuinely something that I never thought would happen, I'm so pleased I was wrong! And now that means - I'm pretty sure - that the Advanced episode is the only episode left that has never aired in any way, shape or form... let's pray we see that someday too! 🙏
Now it made more sense that James caught a Yamask in Unova, the whole capture showed in the following gym battle episode was kinda… random? But I never questioned it since they needed to give James a Pokémon in unova. But now with the script showing that Yamask basically followed team rocket during those episodes, the capture made way more sense🤣 but it’s just a more of a minor detail🤣 but imagine what if James caught Yamask at the end of the two parter? Then the capture of Yamask might’ve needed some rework as well… but just a thought🤣
I was just thinking the other day about the first episode of bw and how Pikachu and Zekrom had a thing. It lead me down a rabbit hole about turboblaze and turbovolt. Pikachu always goes harder, especially when facing down a fire type. This goes the whole series because Ash initially raised Charizard and Pikachu would have needed to check his unruly behavior. Also, Pikachu never activated static or lightning rod in the show. I think it's more likely Pikachu has a unique ability in Turbovolt. Especially after watching the finale with Leon, I think it's clear Ash's Pikachu is one of a kind.
I remember getting back into the Pokémon anime because of the tonal shift with Jessie and James back to early gen season 1 and then this. It shattered my motivation to continue watching the series.
I never cared about TR in Unova but when i was watching the BW anime episodes back in 2017 on TH-cam i was so shocked when out of nowere their mission was over all of sudden.
Genuinely diamond and pearl are my favourite series of the animals, and the anime for me feels on an absolute roll by the end of it..and then black and white just absolute stalls out, and I just can't get though it
I honestly wouldnt mind if someone made a rom hack of this where you get to choose either side and you get to experience the life of team plasma or team rocket
Hey ferlax :) I watch ur vids at school all the time :) ur my fave and I love ur vids!!! I can’t wait for these episodes bro. Ur so chill that ur cooling me off rn lol (I’m experiencing a spring heatwave with 25-30C temperatures) Hopefully u feel better soon and best wishes!!! Suggestion: maybe for 150K, u can play the games u played on ur 2d/3Ds from when u were a kid (if u had one) or maybe do that big project u wanted to do before the copyright incident (doesn’t have to be sub special)
While I can understand Mother Nature being unpredictable and uncontrollable, I find it incredibly disappointing to know that an entire series had to be reworked because of said disaster. We could have had a more mature storyline with more significant character development and themes. Ash and company might have been more motivated to step up their training to handle future challenges against both evil teams, Ash’s beliefs of Pokémon and people being together would have been challenged, proper confrontations against Ghetsis and Giovanni, an epic showdown between the two dragons, maybe something to tie in Victini, Kyurem, and the Legendary Musketeers. I’m inclined to agree with some people in the comments. Just postponing the ideas would have been better rather than scrapping them entirely. Give the community time to recover from the earthquake and then air the original plot rather than throw random content together. Still, I’m glad you found the first two episodes of what could have been. I’ll definitely be checking those out soon!
It's pretty crazy. I feel with the reworked Black and White Anime was what caused people to give Ash Ketchum a bad rep. If the anime didn't had that unfortunate change of plans, we have gotten fairly different Ash Ketchum. It really makes me wonder, as a big Champion Cynthia fan, it makes me wonder if she was planned to be part of the story too or was only brought back for the reworks scripted.
I'm glad that these two missing Episodes from Pokémon Black White Series are finally going to get there own dubbed but I understand why they postponed these two episodes all because of what happened back then. Hopefully they'll unbanned Porygon because the problem is with it's body that can reflect Light so the only way to change that is to evolve Porygon into Porygon 2. This Definitely needs to happen! 😍🤞 Like if you want Porygon to return and to see how it evolves as well.👍
I definitely get why they took them out of circulation due to real life circumstances which must have been a headache. They did rework team plasma into the anime after the pokemon league which was certainly something. Looker did appear in the anime although a lot later. They also did the giovanni big bad eventually in the meloetta part. It was mostly reworked in the later episodes so I feel like it changed a lot but maybe not as much as we think
Honestly didn’t know that happened I just thought they didnr really do a good job with the fifth gen anime but to hear that I really hate that we never got that
Wow 🤩 thank you Pokerflax for sharing this amazing discovery it really is such a shame that these 2 episodes never got shown and would have been so amazing seeing Team Rocket going up against Team Plasma thanks again and looking forward to seeing more of your amazing videos next time 👍❤️
While I was young and very little into news at the time, hearing about this down the line years later was tragic. Soft reset or not for Ash, I genuinely wondered how BW could have been if it shaped up to be on par with the games and genuinely more in competition with the stronger parts of the rest of the series. Don't get me wrong, it would have been insensitive, but one can dream of what could have been among the best in the series. Cool to at least read those two episodes.
They should have aired, insensitive or not Besides they had no problem showing mass destruction in a city after 9/11 happened, way back in the original series
@@eljordinio7647 You are making connections that don't exist. 9/11 happened in 2001, years after that episode aired. The first of these two was planned to air mere days after a major earthquake in Japan.
I just remembered that storyboards were leaked for episodes set to air months later, and these episodes took place after this arc. The scripts must also be made as close as the storyboards. This means, there must be planned Team Plasma episode scripts that either have storyboards or did not have storyboards yet.
I really wished those two episodes weren't cancelled by an Earthquake incident. It would be interesting to see those two organizations battle each other
It is hilarious how upset I was about these episodes back in the day and I only found out by chance today because I was trying to find how to watch the XY anime and ended up on the Pokemon anime subreddit. I'm currently watching the BW2 Plasma arc of the anime, too! This is like a dream come true for my inner 12 year old, I binge-read the scripts and that's a feat for me when I've been struggling to read much of anything lol! Now if only someone leaked the full animated episodes... I'm still kinda disappointed this arc never happened but I think I'll go looking to fanfiction and the Pokemon Adventures manga for it, eh?
Unrelated to this video, but I have a theory that Geeta is the leader of the explorers. Just take a look at her glove, and the elite four members glove, a compass. Also she basically has control over the entire region, which has been a reoccurring theme for some time now.
I hope Pokemon TH-camrs who makes what if & rewrites make a video of what Black & White anime could have been if the lost episodes didn't get cancelled.
I wonder if these episodes were released, would Ash have not acted like such noob Trainer throughout BW. Maybe they double down on the whole soft reboot angle they went with Ash when the Team Rocket vs Team Plasma was cancelled. Thinking about it, BW had the best chance of being Ash's final series. Ash could have caught Zekrom to battle N, making him finally catch a Legendary Pokémon. Team Plasma and N could have challenged Ash's perception of Pokémon. They could have made Ash a Champion level Trainer, if they had N defeat Alder like in the games, so when Ash defeats N, he basically becomes the Champion of Unova. Could have Ash finally disband Team Rocket once and for all, considering how much of a focus Team Rocket were going to have in the series. They could have adapted the Pokémon World Champion Tournament from B2W2, and have Ash battle Champions from the past series. They could have even made Ash brought back his old Pokémon to make an ultimate Team for the Tournament. If Ash had won the Tournament, he could have been the strongest Trainer in the world, and ended the series on a high note. Plus the series was called "Best Wishes" in Japan it usually means Goodbye, maybe this was meant as a goodbye to Ash? But sadly the writers wanted to soft reboot Ash, so I guess these things were never going to happen 😞
No, Ash was already acting like that before the point where those episodes were set to come, and the Ash VS Elesa episode for instance was already written by the time the 3/11/11 disaster that got this two-parter pulled occured.
I think by this point the BW series was already going in such a poor direction that one arc wouldn’t have changed much. The episodes directly after the Burgh battle were where the series started to go downhill and those were already almost done by the time they had to cancel these two episodes
Hearing this right now reminds me of how much I remembered watching these episodes way back on my laptop and t.v when bw was airing. As a kid I felt as if something went wrong with the anime and how most of it was cut short due to what went on in Japan. It is sad and even if they aired it the way it's supposed to be I don't think it's fair for those who lost their loved ones during that time and this would start to trigger a lot of trauma for the people who are trying to recover from the aftermath. Getting a great storyline but would result in getting back lash from the people who suffered the earthquake and tsunami. Sort of wished they released some scenes of how it was really like before wiping the work off of existence.
I actually wanted to make a fan comic of this episodes. Tge only part I did completly right is that part , when Team Plasma Guard says to Liepard ,"good job , Liepard " The comic was never finished :(
Had these two episodes just aired when rhey were supposed to, BW might have changed for the better and actually gotten the respect it deserved. But instead they let one earthquake ruin things and they screwed up the rest of the series as a result. They could have just dialed back on all the violent bits or put a warning before the episodes began No point going through all that build-up just to throw it all away like that. I'm glad we finally get to see what the original episodes were meant to look like in script form. Hopefully one day we can see the actual episodes themselves
What were the show writers & animators thinking when they made the missiles intensively flash in the Porygon episode? Poor cyberspace Pokemon got shafted entirely.
I just found out about this yesterday and couldn’t believe it, and it’s sad that we will never see the real story of Team Plasma. Unfortunately, now Pokemon is gone and of course this is because of the fans and most importantly because of the writers who betrayed their ideas and began to sell Kanto for the fans, Ash’s ridiculous victory in the Alola League and the whole fucking Pokemon journey. When these episodes were canceled, it was clear that the BW2 anime had become some kind of fan fiction that looked to the countries. The most interesting thing about BW is the beginning.
It's interesting that in the leaked episodes, Ghetsis debuted earlier. If they had aired both of these episodes, it'll be quite different. Ghetsis appears earlier, N starts as villain, and Zekrom plays a major role. I remembered during the Best Wishes airing, they'd show the trailers of the original Team Plasma episodes. Along with the Brock and Dawn special episodes, there were previews of Team Plasma vs. Team Rocket episodes. I remembered how exciting it was and ton of hype. After the Venipede episode, they'd show the preview of the Team Plasma episodes. After that one week later, it was announced that these episodes were postponed due to the earthquake in Japan. Time sure flies pretty fast. Ever since then, Best Wishes wasn't the same. Unova League sucks and Episode N was too fast. 14 episodes of Episode N and 20 episodes of Decolore Islands. I don't like how N started as an ally, I'd like it if he started as an enemy before changing sides. What I like about N is that in BW games, he started as an enemy. In the B2W2 sequels, N became an ally and changed for the better. Guess when watching One Piece, there's lot of characters started as enemies but later turned into allies, thanks to character development. That's my honest opinion. Now that Ash is not the main protagonist in Horizons, I'm looking forward to seeing some darker elements. What I like about the games and manga is how Pokémon gets darker. I hope in Horizons, we get to see more of Professors Sada and Turo's past and possibly their deaths....
I'm so happy about this as a TR fan, I hope now that someday someone gets the episodes and show them to the internet, if this happened, for me, everything is possible now 🙏🏻🤣
Lost Episodes of Pokemon are truly interesting and I think here in Finland there's much Episodes what never showing to us with Finnish dub. I would like to watch that Team Rocket vs Team plasma, It Will Be really amazing and interesting. Where i can watch these Episodes? Ps I like Pokemon Black and white seasons too. 🔥🔥
I hesitate to say the ultimate timeline where that earthquake never happened has a really good Black and White series; the first 22 episodes do show a lot of the big problems with the series, and I can’t see how things such as the uneven development for Ash’s Pokémon and the horrible Unova league would be fixed. It always seemed to me they had to pull a lot of episodes forward, hence the larger gap between Burgh and Elesa before the series suddenly switches to having a gym battle every 7 episodes (though the Club Battle and arc where Meowth joins the Twerps all seemed to go ahead well) I’m still fascinated in, looking at the script, and find it fascinating to think about the timeline without that earthquake. Oh and honestly, the rumours about Oshawott evolving during this were never really rumours to anyone who spent more than 30 seconds thinking about it; Oshawott appears straight after this in the Emolga episodes, with a large part and maintained a large role throughout - there was not way it could have been put into those episodes in mere weeks if the staff had thought Ash would have Dewott
Unfortunately I don't think the episodes will ever be released officially. But we can hope and pray that the episodes leak through some other means! That could certainly happen someday, if we're lucky!
That ship has long sailed. However, I do feel like these scripts won't go to waste & they may reuse those scripts for a future Pokemon arc, just with some plot points changed around to better fit the current gen.
Man im having a serious Mandela effect situation right now i chould Swear this episode did air and i have memories of watching it but i could be thinking of something else but im loosing my mind right now
Greeeeeat, now I'm dying to see the actual episode. They animated it, voiced it, and it was all ready to go. Hey, who knows? Maybe 12 more years pass, and we get the actual episode. lmao
This might be a hot take but Unova was doomed to fail from the start. It was always meant to be a reboot of the OG series (a dollar store version of the OG if u will) with less heart put into it (although I like Iris and Cilan they’re clearly meant to be somewhat copies of Misty and Brock).
*This is genuinely hard to believe. The cancelled/lost Team Rocket VS Team Plasma episodes... HAVE BEEN RECOVERED! AFTER 12 YEARS!* 😭

Wow, js wow.
This arc WAS WHAT I WAS WAITING FOR! Until the tragedy in Japan happened.
I got to imagine that if the original plans for the series happened as scheduled, then the Decalore arc at the very end probably would never have happened. What 8-10 other episodes may have been in the pipeline? I'm left to wonder.
Get well soon!
Hyy man I have a question where to watch this episode??
I want Electric Soldier Porygon Back, but remastered without any epilepsy
Hopefully we get a Episode with Porygon in it and showing how it evolves into Porygon 2!?
This Needs To Definitely Happen!😍🤞
@@Pokeferlax
Especially when the flash was actually Pikachu’s fault, not Porygon’s. Yet, we have Captain Pikachu, Detective Pikachu, Monarch-slaying OP Ash’s G-Max Pikachu, Let’s Go, Pikachu, and every other iteration of the yellow Mickey while Porygon is only “canon” in the core games.
It's really sad that this plot had to be cancelled for such a tragic reason, I am glad we can at least read the script for these two episodes.
It really is sad! BW could've been a masterpiece if that storyline was kept and continued!
@@Pokeferlax I usually like to say BW could have been what XY has been
Like there was total potential for that, and I even considered writing an alternate version of the unova anime back in high school.
Fair
That's basically true
If these two episodes weren't cancelled, then my opinions about the "Black & White" series would've been slightly different.
I think a lot of people feel that way sadly!
I always felt the quake ruined BW...
A couple years back i made a long fanfic that basically rewrote the whole BW series. One major inspiration was these two episodes so i made my own interpretation. So to see them actually see the light of day is just surreal.
If you don't mind me asking, how close was your interpretation of these episodes?
@@anothergamer112 yeah seriously it's honestly pretty hilarious when you think about it-
If not, they can just recycle the script for Pokemon Horizons whole changing some elements around.
Exactly. Aside from a the tournament arcs barring the unova league, the mini team rocket arcs they had, and most of rival Destinies, they basically screwed up big time
I'm really happy, I remember being so hyped for this back in the day, and it was so disappointing they had been cancelled. (Even tho it was totally understandable why.)
It's amazing that the scripts are finally out after all these years!
@@Pokeferlax these episode trailer where out already nothing new here
@@Pokeferlax *Episode 24 is when Ghetsis would be introduced.
It's so amazing to see what the BW anime COULD'VE been, based on those cancelled episodes! It would've ended up soooo different! 😱
@@Pokeferlax all pokemon horizon ep was good and ep 4 was fanny
I still think they should have aired regardless. They could have put a warning up or just toned back on the violence
Someone is bound to make a fan animation of the script
That would be an absolute DREAM!!
It's really sad to think about 😭
I didn't even know about this til I first looked it up
@@Pokeferlax like if they were going to bring team plasma in later, we could have had a similar plot to the climax of black and white where they interrupt the league, we have a clash between both legendary dragons and ash takes on Ghetsis with all the gym leaders helping
Shame their reworking of it was lackluster at best
In my school vr game, there was an intense battle in the mission called paradise where team rainbow rocket is back but are taking on team star and a powerful new character novera (the queen of the ultra beasts she may look like if lily and 01 from darling in the franxx had a baby but she is incredibly powerful like she's so powerful in her totem state she commands and put legendaries under a spell and FYI it took a lot to exhaust her) which revealed 2 things 1 Goalius had a z move that's way too risky and 2 novera is Goalius mom
This is a W for the Pokémon fans😀. The Lost Media hunters could find the videos to the episodes if they keep it up.
Once i learned about these episodes i looked all over for them just to realize that they where cancelled
Black and white were my introduction to pokemon (but damn the canceled storyline sounds so much better)

@@Pokeferlax THIS x INFINITY!
When they got cancelled, I was gutted, and then when they started reusing stills from it for newer episodes I gave up, and I didn't return to the anime until watching Journeys last year
There's no other anime moment I'd like to see more, but especially with everything you mentioned that had to get retconned, it's a permanent blemish I'll never recover from 😰
Its weird how just by reading the script I could almost see the whole thing play out in my head as if there's some sort of tv somewhere inside it kek
I bet the team was really bummed about having to scrap the whole finished Episodes due to unexpected events that happen
They are awful everything wrong with the team magma and aqua arc is here in spades

I’m really happy!! Thank you so much ferlax!! I just read the script and it was amazing 😻 I really wish all this happened in the black and white series ❤
I'm really happy you enjoyed the read! It was so promising, and I truly wish we got to see this storyline unfold in the anime! ❤
I wish that Team Rainbow Rocket would have appeared in the SM arc of the anime!
@@Pokeferlax no problem
@@Pokeferlax I do have to point out that most of the pre-Season 2 episodes of BW were already produced or in production by the time 3/11/11 occurred, so the only thing that got cut were these two episodes and a Team Plasma reappearance at the Black Hero's ruins before Crocoroc reappeared as well. But the episodes cancellation along with the making of B2W2 definitely changed the form of the Team Plasma arc from what the staff initially envisioned, and severed Team Rocket's connection to it as well.
Yeah for the better
I want this as either an official or fan animation series!
Hooray for both the Pokemon and lost media communities! 🎉
Such a massive win for everyone 😁
I don't think this would have fully gotten rid of the criticisms BW had during the time that it aired, but it's possible it could have soften the blow in certain aspects. For anticipated episodes as THOSE were and yet hasn't really gotten reworked; in terms of buildup for what became the Meloetta arc and episode N, it feels like there's still some unanswered questions about the series' structure as a whole.
I read the script &, I can see why this episode got banned, the 2nd part especially was too close to home at the time. I would still love this script to be reused sometime in the future, possibly in a future arc for Horizons.
The operation tempest arc adopted many of this script elements into the story
@@MKProductions270 I meant go further than that. Like, replace Team Rocket with another organization and have it take place in a different region.
If only we could travel back in time and stop the Pacific Plate from rubbing and cracking against the Eurasian Plate to prevent the Tohoku Earthquake, not only saving these two episodes and the rest of the Black and White anime but also save the lives of all the people that were lost on that dreadful day.
well if it is preventable to do that is...
Thats really cool to see this finally unearthed
Wonder if the pokemon advanced ep that was also unaired will have its script found
It's genuinely something that I never thought would happen, I'm so pleased I was wrong! And now that means - I'm pretty sure - that the Advanced episode is the only episode left that has never aired in any way, shape or form... let's pray we see that someday too! 🙏
@@Pokeferlax We can hope since apparently its possible.that ep was meant to be barboaches debut (but i doubt we'd ever see both eps fully animated)
NO WAY! TEAM ROCKET VS TEAM PLASMA IS GOING TO HAPPEN?! 😮 I HAVE BEEN DENIED IT UNTIL NOW! 😍
Not going to happen, but we can finally see what could've been.
@@wikiuser92 Just finished reading it and HOLY COW. THIS WAS THE BEST EPISODE OF BW SAGA BY A LONGSHOT!
I remember getting back into the Pokémon anime because of the tonal shift with Jessie and James back to early gen season 1 and then this. It shattered my motivation to continue watching the series.
Love ur videos man keep up the good work..❤️🔥
Thanks so much for the kind comment dude, I really appreciate it ❤🔥
I didn't know anything about this
Now I wished they didn't cancelled this
Maybe in another universe, this happened
I never cared about TR in Unova but when i was watching the BW anime episodes back in 2017 on TH-cam i was so shocked when out of nowere their mission was over all of sudden.
Man just imagine if this didn't get cut...
I genuinely think the Black/White anime would've became a fan-favourite series 😭
I gave up on the anime after Sinnoh until Journeys came out. Might came back for Team Rocket vs. Team Plasma
Genuinely diamond and pearl are my favourite series of the animals, and the anime for me feels on an absolute roll by the end of it..and then black and white just absolute stalls out, and I just can't get though it
I saw this in a news article earlier and I KNEW all I had to do to know everything about it was come to your channel. ❤😂
Like if you want Porygon to return and to see how it evolves as well.👍
Now all we need is the actual episode
I truly truly hope we get to see it someday! 🙏
U mean episodes
I definitely get why they took them out of circulation due to real life circumstances which must have been a headache. They did rework team plasma into the anime after the pokemon league which was certainly something. Looker did appear in the anime although a lot later. They also did the giovanni big bad eventually in the meloetta part.
It was mostly reworked in the later episodes so I feel like it changed a lot but maybe not as much as we think
I read these episodes and they were epic but I guess they used some of the footage in the meloetta ark
Yep, they re-used some of the animation in the Meloetta arc later! So at least it had some purpose, even though it got cancelled!
They should have aired, insensitive or not
Besides they had no problem showing mass destruction in a city after 9/11 happened, way back in the original series
I miss Ash
Let's hope we see him again someday! 😊
We will definitely see him back sometime in the future!
Omg i found a trailer that came out 8 years ago!! Its literally crazy!!!!! It also looks a little bit dark compared to pokemon😅
Haha it's surreal right?! Team Plasma's storyline was gonna become soooo incredible if those episodes aired! If only! 😁
@@Pokeferlax is it possible to find the whole episode?
Just imagine what could've been
I actually wanted to make a fan comic of this episodes.
Tge only part I did completly right is that part , when Team Plasma Guard says to Liepard ,"good job , Liepard "
The comic was never finished :(
Had these two episodes just aired when rhey were supposed to, BW might have changed for the better and actually gotten the respect it deserved. But instead they let one earthquake ruin things and they screwed up the rest of the series as a result. They could have just dialed back on all the violent bits or put a warning before the episodes began
No point going through all that build-up just to throw it all away like that. I'm glad we finally get to see what the original episodes were meant to look like in script form. Hopefully one day we can see the actual episodes themselves
not really
The fact the lost Team Rocket VS. Team Plasma episodes were leaked online makes me very happy to see it being recovered scripted wised!!!
I think that they person who leaked the scrip of the episodes should win a trophy
I still think we were done dirty by not having the episodes released on like a DVD sale or something.
LETS GOOOO 🎉🎉🎉
This is such a huge W 😄
The BIGGEST W ever 😎
Hope you get better soon😊❤
Thanks so much for the kind comment, it means a lot to me! 😊❤
No problem dude
This is also why my favorite Pokemon Zekrom, never appeared outside of the two part opening…never again
Wonder if this trend of removing main game element led to jounreys style writing of independant stories
Also I hope you feel better Ferlax 🙏🏻
I hesitate to say the ultimate timeline where that earthquake never happened has a really good Black and White series; the first 22 episodes do show a lot of the big problems with the series, and I can’t see how things such as the uneven development for Ash’s Pokémon and the horrible Unova league would be fixed.
It always seemed to me they had to pull a lot of episodes forward, hence the larger gap between Burgh and Elesa before the series suddenly switches to having a gym battle every 7 episodes (though the Club Battle and arc where Meowth joins the Twerps all seemed to go ahead well)
I’m still fascinated in, looking at the script, and find it fascinating to think about the timeline without that earthquake.
So we have the scripts now…I can’t wait for the day the full footage of both of these episodes gets leaked. 😍😍😍😍
So is there a good chance they'll air these 2 lost episodes?? (Probably Not)
Unfortunately I don't think the episodes will ever be released officially.
NICE JOB POKEFERLAX
Thanks a lot dude! 😁
