Basically u need to get married for a couple to enter hotels in Manipur or you just need to know someone from the hotel else not possible, I have been to many places in india. It is almost the same every where😂😂😂. Don't blindly enter a hotel after trusting this channel. Unmarried couples are not welcomed at all😂😂

Hi Ronel. Thanks for the nice comment. Well there are a number of reasons why hotels don't allow unmarried couples.
1. Religion Issue : Some hotel owners feel it is not right to help promote activities which are againts the religion. In almost all religion I know of they believe that the sleeping together in one bed should only be done after they are husband and wife. So the Hotel Owners, Don't want to promote this activity by allowing Boys and Girls / Man and Woman who are not married to stay together.
2. Legal Issue : Although the Government of India have allowed Adults to stay together even though they are not married. The problem comes in the Legal Age of the people doing so. As per the The POCSO Act (Prevention of Sexual Offences Act), 2012 - A Couple should be above the legal age of 18 years old to have consentual Sex. Having an intercourse with anyone below the age of 18 is considered an offence in the eyes of the Law and could put you in prison. Hotels allowing such activities shall also be at risk because it would come under the term "facilitator". If the hotel allows and facilitates such behaviour, the hotel shall also be put at risk. So in order to avoid that, Hotels ask for a Government Issued ID Proof such as Adhar Card and Passport to comply with the Renting of Hotel Room law, and to comply with the POSCO Act, they just dont want to allow unmarried couples.
3. Social Issue : If a hotel becomes famous in a particular community for allowing unmarried couples to stay. It could attract a variety of different crowd. We understand that even if you might be decent and might be going with your girlfriend who also agrees to stay with you. But there are many risks involved if either of the partner is blackmailed or pressurized or even if there is any financial obligation by any of the partner....If that happens and a legal case breaks out. The hotel shall get negative publicity. This is also to avoid sex workers to use the hotel as a place of business. Because of the general perception of the way the sex workers dress, it might cause people who come to stay in the hotel for work, or a family trip to have a negative perception and avoid staying in the hotel in the future. Hotel might get a couple of customer from this target market. but lose out on the family group.
So basically in order to avoid these 3 issues, Most of the hotels in India just give a general rule saying that they don't accept unmarried couples.
