I think one of my favorite parts about this is that you can tell how much fun he's having. The yells, the style in it, it's just so carefree. Sure, many iterations of Spidey we see are carefree and enjoy it like this, but this is one of the few times where we feel and understand that same joy because we're in the moment with him. It makes it feel like we're swinging with him. Ughhhh, this scene is such perfection!
Its not just the performance. In my opinion, I can tell that Andrew isn't just showing Spider-Man having fun, HE'S having fun. He's having the time of his life, dare I say, the happiest that he has ever felt. It oozes joy, and that's why I can confidently say he's my favorite Spidey. Tobey nailed the complex mind of Peter Parker, and Tom was excellent in his role, but Andrew just sounds like he's excited to play the role. It wasn't just a paycheck or a boost to his career, it was a childhood dream come true for him, and he let's all of us know.
@ethanhudkins1580 Most definitely. The ones that care the most really put their all into it. He, like Raimi with Spider-Man 3, got dealt a bad hand in something he was passionate about. Scenes like this and the one where he walks the kid with the toy home show he's a great Spidey. Even with bad material to work with, he's still *really* trying.
This is exactly how I picture it to swing as Spiderman. The wind blowing everywhere, the suit rippling, and the first person shots are just beautiful. This movie, into the Spiderverse, and the PS4 really capture that. I also really like when he says “hello pedestrians!”, it looks like he was actually swinging by. Other Spider-man movies don’t do that as well

I prefer raimi but I do like these things about both TASM movies. 1. Suit in TASM2 2. This opening scene 3. TASM1 bridge scene 4. Montage of him doing stuff and being Spidey (the one where he is sick) 5. Best Swinging scenes
1:15 was by far the most insane swinging scene ive ever seen, Like it gave me goosebumps along with the slow motion and the music! They killed this Spiderman and I personally believe this was the most bad ass one, Idk why people gave this so much hate, Non of the Spiderman movies gave me goosegumps like this one, It was just beautiful...
The effects on this movie are amazing. The swinging, the web, the only thing is that the spider man script is shit. I mean for god's sakes when spider man got to the truck, spider man in this movie is talking to aleksei on the truck resulting in more crashes, instead of stopping the truck from crashing into more people and vehicles.
@@tacoshavefeelings8370 I think that the script wasn't that awful as it's made out to be. Sure, I agree that the villains and plot in terms of that side could have been improved. However, I believe that the story of Gwen and Peter's relationship as it developed through this movie (especially in TASM 2, but also in consideration of TASM 1) was something else. Honestly, huge respect to Marc Webb for that side of it. He brought us along with Gwen and Peter, and when we lost her it really showed how attached we were to their relationship. Also, we too felt that crushed piece inside, as did Peter when Gwen died. I don't normally get emotional with movies but I did at this scene. You've gotta admit, it was heartbreaking and Webb absolutely NAILED it. This movie is something special and I really hope it (still continues to and get more of) gets more recognition. All of this combined with the effects, best swinging and in my eyes, the best Peter Parker played by Andrew Garfield. I really cannot wait for Spiderman - No Way Home, the expectations for that movie are through the roof!!
I personally didn't like this spiderman because of his personality. He comes off as a douche half of the time. Sure the movie did a lot of things right and the swinging is one of them, but I just personally never cared for Peter's character.
I love that the swinging in this movie is a big influence on the swing animations in the ps4 game, especially the slow mo shot at 1:15 you can literally do that in game
1:15 The most Iconic scene of ALL Spider-Man movies hands down, just imagine the hours, days, months, into this one scene, It's absolutely beautiful. (man I hope Andrew pulls up like this in no way home)

Oh my God I know!! This just blew me away...no other Spider Man film has captured the intensity and the beauty of the swinging. Its just irreplaceable. I am hoping Andrew Garfield's Spidey comes in just like this!
He has more of a comic accurate spidey personality and embodies spidey from the comics way more than Holland or Tobey. He's quippy and the swinging matches it WAYY more than them. If you don't read the comics just say so.@@QUBIQUBED
I think that's because they pulled inspiration from different comic versions of Spider-man. This one I think has influences from The Amazing Spider-man and Ultimate Spider-Man.@@QUBIQUBED
@@QUBIQUBEDdisagree, this Spidey feels straight off the pages of Bendis and Bagley's run on Ultimate Spider-Man from back during the 2000s. The same playfulness, corny jokes and all
Dude this Spiderman had the best swinging physics. The way the suit ruffles in the wind is so realistic. No other on screen spiderman swinging beats it
Also a neat trick you can do is set one of the shortcut options to “game speed 30%” and by pressing left or right on the d pad you can mimic the slow motion fall scenes whenever you want
Things I liked about this franchise: - The suit in TASM 2 - Peter and Gwen’s chemistry - Action Sequences - CGI/Visuals - Acting - Electro’s villain design - Garfield’s Spider-Man Honestly I really wanted to see Marc Webb work on these films alone without Sony gambling around his head to ruin this franchise, the blame should go to Sony and Avi Arad, not Webb.
I like how at the beginning you can see that his suit is actually being affected by the wind and doesn't feel like a skin tight gimp suit. His webs also don't stiffen until he starts swinging with it. The weight and speed of him swinging is feels so realistic too. It feels like you would get obliterated by him if he accidentally crashes in to you while swinging. Still is the best swinging out of all the spiderman movies made. Sony really had the potential to make the best spiderman film if the plot wasn't so shitty.
I feel like people underestimate how much strength it takes just to do some of the swinging he does. Depending on which version you're looking at changes how stocky he looks (or doesn't look), but he's pulling anywhere from 170-210 pounds through the air, while also changing direction when he's just doing his quick little zip (like at 0:35 which he does ONE HANDED). Mans is strong as hell. Totally agree on the stellar CG for this film as well though. super good
@@ChayChay0510 later in this chase he stopped a 16 ton bus that was hit with a truck of same weight at full speed. Also in his first fight vs Electro he easily held a 2 ton police car on his back. So I think that 210 pounds (95kg) is easy weight to him :D
@@MikoDnst That's kind of the point I was making. Like have you ever done a pull up? That's usually done with just gravity weighing on you. Now imagine someone was grabbing your ankles and pulling you down, and still being able to do a pull up so hard you shoot yourself up as fast as a car. I feel like it's one of the better ways to tell people how strong he is in a way that is actually understood, and not just a wall of numbers lol
@Parvis I think that was done intentionally though because he is supposed to be more of a friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man. However I hope we get a better web swinging scene in the next Spider-Man film
@Parvis how tf does someone “web sling like a pussy” that’s possibly the stupidest point I’ve ever heard. All that’s wrong with that scene is it isn’t long enough... that’s it. Also just coz he has been to space doesn’t mean he can’t be a friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man .homecoming was exactly that it was a lot smaller scale same with far from home it was smaller scale than any other film. The MCU Spider-Man films are more grounded than the other Spider-Man films that’s what makes them good.
@Parvis also Are you one of those people who are like MCU SPIDER-MAN BAD😭😭😭😭😭 And then go TOBEY MAGUIRE IS THE BEST SPIDERMNA EVER HE IS PERFECTION😍😍😍 Because if so I don’t even want to have a conversation about this because people like that piss me off.
@Parvis you not gonna talk about the time when the big octopus man threatened aunt mays life in the raimi trilogy? Or when Tom Holland’s Spider-Man can’t go to a party because he has to do Spider-Man stuff? Or when he talks with Karen about Liz? Don’t try to make a point and then leave out crucial elements that can completely go against your point. However yes insomniac Spider-Man is definitely the best one.
I’ve always appreciated Garfield’s Spiderman. Most comic accurate spidey we have in film to date. I’m so glad everyone seems to appreciate him much more now after NWH.
The thing is that most casual viewers don't want it to be comic accurate. They just want to watch the movie without ever reading a single strip of comic just like books that turn into movies. That is why we will never have a comic accurate movie of a marvel comic.
Would a comic accurate Spider-Man make jokes while the rhino drives around killing people? Don’t get me wrong I like Garfield in the role but he isn’t comic accurate at all
The best spiderman swing sequence that we ever got to see in live action Till now. The movie may be average but the swing scene Along with Hans Zimmer's Score gives me goosebumps Everytime I Watch it
Marvel's Spider-Man game has the best of the previous films, good writing and compelling story (Raimi) and great action choreography plus visual effects (TASM).
This is Spider-man. The pure exhilaration in his voice as he swings, the agility and grace he employs with every move he makes, and the eagerness to face the day and get the job done. A masterwork of sound design, score, and atmosphere. Couple that with the CGI that makes the shit come to life - every wrinkle and crease of the suit's fabric, the tension and subsequent loosing of the muscles, the gravity - and it makes for the absolute pinnacle and perfection of any form of Spidermanning ever seen in any form of Spider-Man media ever, which has yet to be topped. At least for Peter Parker.
In general TASM has better swinging choreography but I personally think the scene where Tobeys Spiderman is chasing the train to get back to Doc Ock in Spiderman 2 is still the most exhilarating shot so far.
toby choreography while, cartoonish at times, it was suppoust to look like that to capture the feeling of the old school comics from the 60's. Holland action scenes for the most times suffers from too much quick cut away edits and clumsy camera work that you barelly keep track from whats going on, and sick of people shitting on falcon and winter soldier for doing this action but this is type of action was doing since civil war. Say whatever you want about joss whedon but at least he knows how to make action scenes, obviously when he dosn't work with shots he didn't direct from the snyder cut, even james gunn knows how to do action scenes better than the russo brothers.
Spidey PS4 took a little bit from all the spideys. The logo was from Raimi's the design with the blue vs the red, plus the swinging, was Amazing Spider Man, and the squinting was Holland's Spider Man
@@camburger8263 They're talking about the in game web swinging animations, they were inspired by this movie. The game definitely copies movements like at 0:28 and 1:17
I dont care what anyone says, these movies have the best swinging scenes BY FAR!! I feel like I'm riding a roller coaster just watching this... and I'm watching this on my phone.
Andrew deserves another movie. Marc webb nailed the physics and lighting, the web swinging is beautiful, however the story should be written by someone else.
I don't this the script is the issue...I think they issue is with pacing...like they had to manage and fit too much in those 2 hours...coz there's alot of cool scenes, so they had to rush the plot scenes.... So I personally think if Andrew's Spidey was like a web series, it'd be a masterpiece...with the perfect balance of cool scenes and plot scenes, hell we might have even gotten all the deleted scenes in it
I always keep coming back to this scene. Even Insomniac's Spider Man swinging looks very identical to this. the long swing with the swirl at the end, the way you web the top of the building after reaching the top of it with high momentum, all of it
Especially the part at 1:16 where he does the spin before diving back down. The Insomniac game also does that on random swings. Hell I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of the swinging for the game is inspired by this film. Out of all the spider-man films, A:SM2 has the best web-swinging. Even the MCU spider-man doesn't have this kind of web-swinging.
I wouldn't disagree with you if it wasn't because of the fact the what's up danger scene exist. Don't get me wrong this part is amazing, but miles ascending as he learns how to web swing gives me goosebumps everytime.
I wouldn’t say this the best of all the movies cause I think the final swing in Spider-Man 2 is better but the TASM swinging is top notch and I wish the MCU did swinging like this
Bruh the new movie proved to me again he is the best Spider-Man! I’m hoping because his universe is pretty lonely that we’ll get miles morales from his or something. I hate leaving his Spider-Man off like that

10 years later in 2024 and this web slinger is STILL phenomenal. The producers were cooking with each shot. I think this is my favorite live action web slinging.
Tobey's acting was fucking bad in the Raimi trilogy tho. For a Spider-Man ''performance'', I cant not give it to Andrew. The scripts of Tobey were far better tho, imo that's why people keep saying they prefer Tobey
When he free falls and at 0:48 where he hooks the web, that part to me IS spider man. Just breath taking. TASM had some of the best web slinging in all the live action spider man movies in my opinion.

i would love to see spiderman 4 where tobey wearing this tasm 2 suit. just my opinion.
And best soundtrack
I love Tobey but i also admit that this spiderman has the best Swinging scene and Suit.
Pros:
Good Suit
Good Actors
Good Director
CGI and Visuals are amazing
Cons:
Sony interfering
Avi Arad
Cutting alot of Deleted Scenes
In most cases people would say that a movie deserves better effects, but in this case, these effects deserve a better movie.
Yeah, that's how it goes these days
1:15 was by far the most insane swinging scene ive ever seen, Like it gave me goosebumps along with the slow motion and the music! They killed this Spiderman and I personally believe this was the most bad ass one, Idk why people gave this so much hate, Non of the Spiderman movies gave me goosegumps like this one, It was just beautiful...
Completely agreed!
Agree👑❤
I personally didn't like this spiderman because of his personality. He comes off as a douche half of the time. Sure the movie did a lot of things right and the swinging is one of them, but I just personally never cared for Peter's character.
I love that the swinging in this movie is a big influence on the swing animations in the ps4 game, especially the slow mo shot at 1:15 you can literally do that in game

Huh? He's barely a comic accurate Spider-Man!!! Sure his SUIT is but not really anything else much
He has more of a comic accurate spidey personality and embodies spidey from the comics way more than Holland or Tobey. He's quippy and the swinging matches it WAYY more than them. If you don't read the comics just say so.@@QUBIQUBED

Dude this Spiderman had the best swinging physics. The way the suit ruffles in the wind is so realistic. No other on screen spiderman swinging beats it
The fact that you can pretty much create this opening in Spider-Man 2 ps5 once you unlock the suit is an amazing feeling
Also a neat trick you can do is set one of the shortcut options to “game speed 30%” and by pressing left or right on the d pad you can mimic the slow motion fall scenes whenever you want
@@durp312 yo this was surprisingly pretty helpful thanks alot!
I know!! This feels just like the game
Things I liked about this franchise:
- The suit in TASM 2
- Peter and Gwen’s chemistry
- Action Sequences
- CGI/Visuals
- Acting
- Electro’s villain design
- Garfield’s Spider-Man
Honestly I really wanted to see Marc Webb work on these films alone without Sony gambling around his head to ruin this franchise, the blame should go to Sony and Avi Arad, not Webb.
What about the performance eh?
@@ABawole What performance?
@@ABawole don't forget the music
@@jamesramon5126 oh yeah
The suit was pretty bad in both of the amazing spider man films , Rest I agree with
I like how at the beginning you can see that his suit is actually being affected by the wind and doesn't feel like a skin tight gimp suit.
Yea
@@ChayChay0510 Spider-man IS stronger than Captain America don’t forget
The swinging here looks way better than the MCU
So far at least... I hope we get a cool swinging scene in the next film we kinda got one at the end of the last film but it was pretty short.
@Parvis also Are you one of those people who are like
MCU SPIDER-MAN BAD😭😭😭😭😭
And then go
TOBEY MAGUIRE IS THE BEST SPIDERMNA EVER HE IS PERFECTION😍😍😍
Because if so I don’t even want to have a conversation about this because people like that piss me off.
I love how you can tell that Insomniac took inspiration from this movie when making the web swinging mechanics in Marvels Spider-Man

@@Razgriz_01 and also the trick and dive 1:18, it’s the exact same move as one of the flaunts in the game

I'm not a fan of TASM, but the swinging choreography of this series is 10x better than Toby's and Tom's.
Dude same here
In general TASM has better swinging choreography but I personally think the scene where Tobeys Spiderman is chasing the train to get back to Doc Ock in Spiderman 2 is still the most exhilarating shot so far.
toby choreography while, cartoonish at times, it was suppoust to look like that to capture the feeling of the old school comics from the 60's.

@@322dhm nwh was good but not like tasm ones
@@322dhm no not even close. No way home is overhyped and overrated
@@rover5058 no it was not lol
@@rover5058 r/horribleopinions
I just only get goosebumps watching Andrew's Spiderman, and I'm not saying the others weren't good, but he is the best spiderman in the franchise. Most realistic, suit, abilities, everything.
Definitely realistic. him not saving Gwen is basically saying that Spider-Man can’t save EVERYONE.
@@bigjerm2204 I could not agree more
exactly!!!
@@bigjerm2204 you know the toughest thing about this job is you can't always save everyone~ Peter porker( Spiderman into the spiderverse)
@@bigjerm2204 you can say that about all the spider mans that lost someone lol

*Press [R2] to swing*
1:14 has to be the best scene ever. The shot and music combo just gives me literal chills🔥
I think they also added that animation to spiderman game too
finguh, wtf are you doing here
@@Shuflin stfu, let me die in peace.
I don't know why they underrated Andrew he's such a flexible character who can exactly be a good spiderman . Really amazing guy . If those who are reading my comment .If you feel the same then hit a like
They couldn't really get away from Tobey's spiderman even though Andrew was the most realistic, comicbook-alike best spider man and Peter Parker
I too agree with this viewpoint
Sony butchered Andrew
@@Volzarok MCU butchered Spiderman too
I'm glad Sam's Spiderman 3 wasn't too ruined
@@neow6289 how did they butcher him? (I'm genuinely curious.
This is 7 years old and looks better than half of the MCU films lol
Do you know this was supposed to be part of The MCU but they didnt want to?
@@abstraction6212 ofc I know, I remember the day they cancelled it and the day they made the deal with Marvel
@@abstraction6212 these films were never going to be MCU canon
@XScizor Everything is kinda canon through the Multiverse though. I mean in the MCU
@@abstraction6212 what happened ? i didnt know that.
without a single doubt, this is the best swing scene of a Spider-Man movie ever made.
1:17 animation is in spider man ps4 ;)
A lot of the animations in this scene are in the game as well. Add to it how Peter looks in the game and it becomes pretty clear they took a lot of inspiration from this movie.
Tom Richardon it was a great movie just a shitty story
Tom Richardon They really didn’t
Aj alg Hahaha, what? A story is what makes or breaks a movie.
Jens B
Well the story was bad but I still enjoyed the movie

This. Will. Always. Be. THE. Best. Swing. Ever!!!!
I hope they recreate this choreography in future with Andrew cause he deserves a chance..
That move is straight out of Spider-Man - web of Shadows and it's not the only one. There's plenty of stuff in this movie that seems inspired by that game. I feel like someone working on that film was a web of Shadows fan and I love it. The best Spider-Man movie and the best Spider-Man game.
@@arnoldrimmer960 Man I still need to play through that beauty, that and Ultimate Spider-Man are the only ones created in somewhat recent years recent years I’ve never played.
I’ve even played Spider-Man 3 The Movie Game lol, the first I ever played when my 6 year old self was first infatuated with Spidey.
The background music makes it even better
0:26 the way he dodged the water tank is absolutely stunning, best spider-man indeed.
I don’t think he dodged it but still looks good
Are you serious? He was the worst Spider-Man indeed. By far. He was way too cocky to the point where it wasn't enjoyable.
@@PubicGore ok it's ur opinion but in my opinion he is overhated bro he was really good and he was the one I can relate to
@@PubicGore guess what. Comic spiderman is a really cocky dude lol
@@PubicGore okay no one cares.
8 years ago and the swinging effects have aged like fine wine such an underrated movie
Imagine Andrew comes to assist Tom in NWH swinging in like this with this fucking fantastical theme by Hans Zimmer blaring in the background. Id scream my heart out in joy. Nuff said
That would be so cool!
Bro, I’d die of happiness
That would be...
" AMAZING "
Yeah this scene is absolutely fucking amazing and I hope they can do something similar in nwh, I think Tobey should come in with Raimis absolutely beautiful orchestral music. No matter what I think both should still carry their distinct identitys and feels from their own franchises, it could be very interesting to see how Tom reacts to these two as they are way more fleshed out as a real Spiderman then he is
i would actually die oh my god
0:52 good god there’s a lot of cop cars behind him
True lol
It was a slow crime day
Marvellizor 99 😂
Well he did hijack a truck full of plutonium and plutonium is used for making nuclear bombs so yeah. I don't they never got the FBI involved tho
Samcast Prime
1:14 the best 10 seconds of any spider-man movie
Why
Paul Canham because it just is nigga
@@infinite3479 lmfao
Lol no
The Train Scene begs to differ, and it’s much longer than 10 seconds
The web slinging of these movies were so good their still the baseline of the games today.
