This is good Mwari Wa Mangi. Way to preserve the culture-language and enable the Kikuyus born in the city or outside the Country have a place to learn their Mother Tongue
Thanks alot , am from Kisii and having an interest in Kikuyu language , this is so helpful , I must speak the language by end of 2023 , am able and willing ,
@@gracewangari5105 oh yah , I now understand everything , I rarely miss a word nowadays, I can speak to , but rather slowly cos I haven't been to central yet ..but kuimba nayo I can confirm am good .. pretty good actually

@@LetsLearnKikuyu if you start classes, please notify me. Want to teach my kids as much as possible so they can communicate with their elders in Kenya.
It’s just the same way you reply in English;I am alright, I am fine, I am good.. they are relatively the same... ndî mwega, gûtirî na ûrû,nî kwega, ûhoro ti mûru... and many more .. they all mean, I am fine.
The kikuyu alphabet does not use letter “ S”so there is no way you will make the sound “sh” in kikuyu. The correct pronunciation still remains mbeca. But given the impact of English language on kikuyu, it is now common to hear “mbesha” in spoken kikuyu.
@@munduwanyumbatv5537 we do not have “sh” is the kikuyu phonics… but I have heard people use “sh” sound in a number of pronunciation but definitely not me😅
@@LetsLearnKikuyu it's bcoz you are from murang'a. the rest of kikuyu "c" is pronounced as "sh" so "cai" is pronounced :shai" but for murang'a its's pronounced "sai"

Thengiũ is not a Gĩkũyũ word but an English equivalent of Thank you.
It has been adopted but an original way of saying it is "Nî wega" or "Nî ngaatho".
Do u have classes for kukiyu and how many months would it take to learn the language?

I thought the proper word for thank you is nî ngatho?
You are correct and so is “thengiû”. Which is a borrowed word.
i thot 'c' shud be pronounced as 'sh' like mbeca is mbesha not mbesa. Pls coreect me if I am wrong.
