    Btw Annalisa hairstyles in music video are actually references to her previous works :
    Long brown hair : "Belissima"
    Short Black : "Mon Amour"
    Short white : "ragazza sola"

    Annalisa is my Sanremo 2024 Winner!🖤✨️ I am listening to "Sinceramente" on repeat all the time, no other song from this selection is keeping me as addicted as "Sinceramente", and I am absolutely in love with Annalisa's voice! You can already crown the queen now, it's not a competition for me anymore after listening to this danceable masterpiece! This is on an outstanding level!🙏🫶✨️🔥 And I say this as a person who usually listens to alternative music and not to pop - but an outstanding song is an outstanding song, no matter what genre.🖤✨️ This is a danceable masterpiece that has very typical Italian flavour while still being modern and melodically seductive!✨️

    I looked up the meaning of Dargen’s song and it’s actually beautiful when you realize the story. And his outfit on the first night with the teddy bears to represent all the children lost at sea. 💔😢

    Don’t be surprised by Geolier topping the televote chart. There are a few situations that made this possible:
    1. He presented a song in Neapolitan language, so he’s strongly backed by the televote in the South (and beyond, don’t forget he’s the most streamed artist in Italy in 2023 without even speaking Italian in his songs)
    2. The chart was about just a half of the participants, so it is still difficult to understand the overall situation with the votes.
    3. As a public, I’d say we Italians experience Sanremo differently. When we judge artists and songs, we value a deep range of elements that go from style and presentation to overall communication during the Festival, lyrics and musical variety, the willing to experiment and the consistency/innovation in comparison to previous Sanremo songs and their career.
    4. We’re basically 0% ESC-oriented, and I think it would be and understatement to say that the pop/commercial/catchy element is not a factor in our choice. If anything, when it looks obvious that an artist is trying too hard to be radio-friendly, many Italians don’t like it.
    5. Although Angelina may seem a pretty good entry for ESC, considering the above points and the fact that many perceive her as an industry plant, she’s not so strong in the televote as you would expect (plus, some perceive her song to be good but far too similar to her usual singles)
    6. To us, it is an annual national phenomenon. There’s so much media attention, so the elements that contribute to the results are way more than the ones I could mention. Overall, we try to enjoy it as much as possible and we value it way more than the ESC (I’d say that basically no one cares about ESC, if compared to how many people follow Sanremo here). Just an example: international audience is complaining because of women not winning for a few years now, but to the national audience Geolier winning would be way more meaningful since his entry made the problem of southerners discrimination (one which is deeply felt since Italy was born) stand out.

    • @giovannimoriggi5833
      @giovannimoriggi5833 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      The problem with Geolier is the quality of the song. While Mahmood (for instance) won for the sake of fluid people. he did it with great songs. If Geolier is going to win is just because the southern fanbase treat Sanremo like a football game, and they will vote whatever in their language. Rocco Hunt deserved to win back then, now Geolier doesn't. When it comes to music, there's no discrimination at all in Italy: southern singers are always big in Sanremo, I don't mind the fact that one should sing in Neapolitan, who cares about that, Neapolitan music is not about to die!

    • @ki3rkeg4ard
      @ki3rkeg4ard 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@giovannimoriggi5833 To be fair, Mahmood won his first Sanremo thanks to the press votes, since he had no actual fanbase then. At the time, people complained that a nobody won and that televote should be considered more. By the way, right now televote is only 34% of the total votes, which means it’s not just a matter of fanbase. I also suggest to consider that while Geolier may be well voted in the South, northerners don’t even consider him Italian. I get it, football game mentality, but what is wrong or right in such a situation?

    • @giovannimoriggi5833
      @giovannimoriggi5833 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I don't get what is about Mahmood. I'm saying that people who vote just for fun (or for regional reasons) don't take right artistic choices. We are talking about Neapolitan music, which is perfectly lively and has no lack in presence.
      Please, don't dare to say Northerners don't consider as Italian a Neapolitan guy. It's the contrary indeed, when you feel the need to vote your language (and win over every other Italian city) just because that language it's yours: you are claiming you do have problem with your surroundings.
      When you root for your team, it's still up to the team. When you root for your language, you are going to televote him, and you are loosing the chance to decide with HONESTY. But the way, Geolier has a huge fanbase. When Maneskin won (thanks to the televote) I was upset, but I could see the uniqueness, and lately I've change my mind. The song by Geolier has not uniqueness, I'm sorry. Good but not enough.
      I don't mind the language. I think there are people in Sanremo who worked better than him who deserve more to be celebrated

      @@giovannimoriggi5833 I agree about other participants being more valid in so many ways, but as a local it’s just not the way you pictured it. Neapolitan language was forbidden in Sanremo until this year, even though this dialect has an amazing artistic heritage behind it. Many people have been complaining about “Geolier singing in Arabic”, asking “Why did they let a non-Italian participate?”, that’s a sad but true reality in our country. Of course it is not a good reason from an artistic standpoint, but people voting him is way more political than just rooting for your team.

    • @giovannimoriggi5833
      @giovannimoriggi5833 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Neapolitan language was forbidden??! Everything but Italian language was forbidden (for many good reasons), but in your biased mind, only Neapolitan language need to be there… and what about Festival di Napoli?…
      Where do you see that amazing heritage in Geolier's song? N O W H E R E, it's just about rooting the language.
      There's *nothing* political, 99% of people JUST ROOT for their own language, you are just trying to defend a situation where many people in Naples call themselves Neo-borbonic and things like that, which is a real problem, not the jokes about arabic languages and whatever.
      In 1991 Italians chosen Peppino Di Capri with a song in Neapolitan language in order to represent Italy in the world.

      YT views are literally a untrustorthy, even foolish metric to try and judge the actual voting by. Many casual listeners will spam the video, many of them not even using the televote because they cant afford it; while the Press and Radio people will only watch it enough to form an opinion, and then move on. And remember the 3 way split of voting in this contest, none of which corresponds directly to the ESC type juries.

      I don't know. Most televoters are male, and they're mostly ignoring female artists. And vice versa, I think that women are more eager to vote for male artists than vice versa. Plus, often, the non pop stuff in these selections, eg, rock, electronica, jazz driven sounds, ethno, latin, etc, is mostly male dominated as well, they're rarely putting women doing non pop stuff into their pre-selections, but those genres usually tend to do better with the televote than random pop stuff.

      As an Italian, I wouldn’t say there’s a gender bias in the stats, we’re really about the songs and the artists overall. Sanremo is a competition and the songs are considered a pretty serious element in the mix, but outside of it pop female artists (Annalisa for instance, definitely in the last two years) tend to be way much popular among the casual listeners, which are the majority after all. That’s why I wouldn’t say there’s a trend, also because before this edition we didn’t even notice the streak of male winners.

    Dargen and Ghali used the most important and most seen stage in Italy to send messages of peace, against war and deaths at sea. Not caring about accusations and possible repercussions. They then sent strong messages such as "ceasefire", "stop the genocide", "if we have the courage to turn the other way let's use this courage to say ceasefire", "there are children undergoing surgery on the ground in light of a cellular and without anesthesia" etc etc.
    I'm not good at English, sorry for any mistakes.
    GHALI in his song says:
    "We are all zombies with the phone in our hands Dreams that are lost at sea, Children of a distant desert ,Shut up I can't talk about it"
    "My house, your house, what's the difference? There isn't But which is my house, But which is your house "
    "But how can you say that everything is normal here, To draw a border With imaginary lines bomb a hospital, For a piece of land or a piece of bread There is never peace ."
    DARGEN in his song says:
    "If a title is enough to make an entire people hate you. Don't you know Noah? No huh?"
    "The high wave is coming, the high wave is coming We stand still, we don't talk and we don't jump Feel the thrill I let you down ,I know We are more than life preservers on the boat.
    The high wave is coming The high wave is coming All we have to do is pray until it passes"
    "Hey hey baby This time you really made a mess, To the flak on a balloon. All this way to fill a fridge To feel alive. You only have one try "
    "Here we have everything but we lack feeling and we can no longer love each other "
    "There's a war of pillows But pillows are a bit heavy If the war is the children's fault It's everyone's fault "
    "Sailing sailing towards Malta, Without ever having swum in high water "

    Clara is my favorite of the 30. The way she performed it live made it all the more better. Incredible vocals and intensity to the performance that made it really enjoyable. Also, she came from Sanremo Giovani, which is used to pick up and coming artists to be brought into Sanremo and I think that she really made the most of the appearance onstage. The experience for me was way different though, since she was the first one to perform on day 1.

I also enjoy the visuals, underlining the message of the song; it's not about being big and glorified, but in-your-face unapologetic self-acceptance. It seems this year you can either vote for a dance song, a pop ballad, or 'Pazza', so the lack of variation could work in her favor. Might not be the most popular choice for ESC, but it brings a smile to my face seeing a 73 year old pop queen with blue hair rocking a song in the style of Muse😄

    Giolier is singing Napoletano, which is a separate language - not a dialect [I learned about that when living in Naples for 4 years]. Most westerners dont know that Standard Italian is a constructed language: upon unification in 1861 Many scholars/professors of languages met to construct a unifying language out of the several major regional languages across the peninsula: Piemontese, Lombard, Veneto, Florentine, Romano, Napoletano - those were the major ones used. Much of the south of the country is coalescing behind Giolier, especially metro Naples. THey are viewing his possible victory in the same light as last years Serie A championship - no joke! That sort of solidarity of the "Mezzogiorno", corresponding to most of the old Kingdom of Naples/2 Sicilies also happened for that football crusade, since ONLY Napoli has ever won the title from the entire southern half of the country - even the 2 teams form Rome only have 3 titles between them. Gioliwer is effectively a standard bearer for all those folk who feel disrespected/ignored by the Center and North.

    my faves so far are Annalisa "Sinceramente", Angelina Mango "La noia" and, to a lesser extent, Mahmood "Tuta Gold". interestingly enough, out of the three, it is my top fave "Sinceramente" that needs major "revamp" (or at least "remaster" because, most likely, there will be no major instrumental change) if it is brought to Eurovision, most likely only by reducing some parts or some repetitions within the song, because "Sinceramente" is the only one of the three whose length far exceeds the maximum 3-minute length limit per Eurovision rule. what about the other two? well, "La noia" only has 9 seconds over that is easier to omit, and "Tuta gold" already has perfect Eurovision length at 2;58.

    (italian here) the quality of the songs is not bad but I still feel there's a general flattening of the styles (this time around to dancey pop, let's say) thus I don't perceive much diversity; among the songs of this block I found Mahmood maybe the most interesting (but somehow lacking the final polish) and Annalisa maybe the most accomplished and her live performance was millimetrical (but rather flat in dynamics, that is always a big con for me)
    in the next block I found somewhat interesting Santi Francesi and Rose Villain, maybe a bit Ghali - but again, not particularly accomplished songs, while Angelina Mango (as I suspected; also collab with Madame and Dardust) is probably - to my ears - the best one overall: good performer, quite a bit of movement in the song - ironically, given that the song is called La Noia - The Boredom (or the Annoyance, depending on the context).

    I think I will never forgive you for not liking "Brividi". It's true that they sang it badly at ESC but the song still has a special place in my heart.
    Geolier is big, but he's also very local. He's very well loved by people originating from his area (Campania, Naples) and he sells tons but on a national level he is not that important. That's probably what they are trying to change with this participation. Personally I find him entirely uninteresting (and I understand Neapolitan well, so that's not a factor for me). Should he win, I have no idea how he would fare in ESC.
    As for Bertè, my impression is that they are giving her hype to try and have her on the podium, as an acknowledgement to her career. In the 70/80s she used to be one of the greatest voices in Italian music. She was also beautiful, a stunning woman. Later on, several problems sidetracked her career into irrelevance which was a sad loss.
    Irama lacks focus... he bases his songs on his own ability to sing/scream/scratch them intensely but they often lack a compelling melody.
    Mahmood surprised me again with a song that wouldn't usually be my cup of tea and still manages to interest me. And the boy is hot... and has a fashion sense... that said, this year should really go to Annalisa. The music video makes the song soud polished and innocuous but it really isn't and it is perfect sung live. If you do the second video, you will discover Angelina who also has a spectacular song.
