I just bought this camera from the B & H photo conference in New York City. I've had big cameras and lenses for most of my life but I am now disabled and have severe arthritis , bad shoulder etc, in a wheelchair, so for me this camera is a downgrade but it's a blessing in disguise. I am able to hold it and have had a good experience so far with the quality of this camera. Thanks for the review, I glad I chose it, the only compensation was I bought an adapter so I could use my 18- 300 very old Sigma lens that I love.
Fellow Arizonan here.. As fairly new to photography this was super helpful! Just picked up the R 50 mostly for video but I am blown away by the photos. Not quite brave enough to get into manual yet, hopefully soon. Thanks again!
I definitely appreciate the feedback, Scott. I'm at Foto Forum on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays when I am not traveling. Swing by the shop if you ever have a question. Thank you for watching.
Yes, you want to go to the display part of the menu system in the custom setting, and you can choose what to turn on and off. The level should be one of those choices.
I appreciate you watching, and I am sorry you are having difficulty. When I use the camera in manual mode, I touch which setting I want to change, i.e., shutter speed, and use the scroll wheel to change. Is this what you are doing? I know there is an option to program that wheel to be aperture or shutter speed as well. Since I can't see your camera, it's hard for me to diagnose the exact issue. If all else fails, you could do a system rest. This should definitely solve your issue. It's a pain to redo your settings, though.

Hello, could you tell me if it's possible to turn off the electronic levelling when displaying the histogram. Hope you can help. Thank you.

does it support 3rd party triggers like Godox?
Great question, and thank you for asking. According to my Canon rep, It will support the second-gen trigger from Godox that is made for Canon cameras.
Need the adapter to old flash style
