Other songs to check out: Never Let Me Down Again (Split Mix), Strange Love (Blind Mix), Route 66 (Beatmasters Mix), Get the Balance Right (Combination Mix), Barrel of a Gun, and my favorite, It's No Good (album cut, not video which doesn't contain the whole song). Hey Shawn, I thought I'd leave one more suggestion. "Peter Murphy - All Night Long HD" (by the channel: The Arkive) --Peter Murphy is an English singer/songwriter and musician. He was the vocalist for the post-punk goth-rock band "Bauhaus." After they disbanded, he went onto release several solo albums and were quite successful. I always enjoy hanging out and rocking with you, Shawn. Thanks for sharing. peace out~
I always read the song as giving advice to someone who'd been caught out by honesty to put aside the policy of truth and learn when a lie sill do less harm. Typical Gore lyric, taking a songwriting staple and turning it on its head - "lie more" isn't a common sentiment expressed through 7" vinyl.

The song is about making the mistake (in this huge instance, whatever it is) of not lying, and telling the truth. About telling the truth, and now there's no going back. Kind of tongue and cheek, chastising whoever about not being able to lie, when in this case, it probably would have been in their best interest (and perhaps others?) Giving someone a hard time for telling the truth, because it's their "policy" to never lie, even if it ruins lives. Love ya brother!
The song suggests that the truth hurts the speaker more than the receiver. The truth doesn't necessarily set you free. It' 's like when your lady asks, "Do these jeans make me look fat" or "Do you like my haircut, now that it's shorter?" If you tell Mamacitia the Truth, it gonna hurt you more. i.e., Sometimes the truth doesn't set you free. Keep that truth to yourself. (laugh). Great song choice and commentary - and that's The Truth.
