I'll never understand why a game's "runtime" or "playtime" is considered such a factor of quality. If it's fun, has good mechanics, and offers an engaging story, I can play it over and over no matter how long it takes to finish.
Awesome video again! That definitely makes one wonder if a Portal-Half-Life crossover was possible, and based on early Portal endings, I believe it was, though in the end they decided to keep them mostly seperate.
I love that they set portal and half life in the same universe, because its so funny that creating functional portal travel is a main part and problem to overcome in half life but then aperture’s already mastered it 70 years ago, it just never went public for some reason because cave’s a moron

@@genesisgaming3756 I'll never disagree of how great the game looks or how much fun people can have by interacting with its envoriment. But i'll always dislike massive story retcons. Specially when it's done using the excuse of multiple timelines and time-travel, it feels really cheap for my taste. Half-Life Alyx's story honestly made me depressed a bit, since i did not wait over a decade to see that ending. it gave me an important lesson that i should not be too attached to any franchise that much anymore, being games, movies, series and etc.
Honestly, the idea that Chell was in the Relaxation Vault up to 100 years seems pretty unrealistic to me, I always thought it might have been days since the Announcer is the first cut scene says “You have been in detention for… 50.. days.”
Cozy is the perfect description of this retrospective. The attention to detail and thoughtful game design of the Portal series is very outstanding. Hard to believe it's been 12 years already but the gel mechanic to this day is brilliant. Great video, thanks for posting!
It would be so f**king epic if valve announced “the orange box 3” which had TF3, HL3 and portal 3, but then people would still be salty and say “you stole that joke from goat simulator” which would make it even better.

i wouldve loved portal 2 10x more if i was actually smart and good at solving puzzles. in portal 1 it took me until chamber 18 (2nd to last chamber) to understand what to do and even then 19 was easy. in portal 2, i was already at the guide by like chapter 3 or something.
Hey so, fun fact. In the Portal 2 beta, the G-Man was meant to make multiple appearances. He'd be mentioned by Wheatley in the intro, based on a comment by writer Eric Wolpaw. And there's logic for a G-Man sighting left over in the map where Wheatley gets attacked by a bird.

As one who has played half life alyx, it is incredible. Not just for graphical fidelity, or physics realism, but for storytelling and animations.

Confirmed to be at least 50 years by the developers and potentially 50,000 according to the final hours of Portal 2, but it is ultimately unknown
