Well be careful with this one. Not as reliable as the previous V8 especially early 2000. There has been some issue with the Engine and always air suspension goes out.
I am going to bet the average BMW driver is more affluent. You have to understand overwhelming majority of Lexus sales are the cross overs like the RX and NX. The Lexus LS doesnt sell very well and has not for many years not. In fact I heard they were not going to replace it
@@TD-il6ju Not sure what you dont understand. The majority of Lexus sales are crossovers. A nice interior, quiet, and comfortable ride....$90,000 is way too much for those simple attributes. Heck, a Chevrolet Impala has two...and I just can't see how the nice interior (in terms of materials and fit) are worth $50,000 more.
@@mob4ever Read my comment. The differential in price is unrealistic. Yes, the LS 500 may have some better this and that, but is it really worth the asking price? Are you going to notice it to that extent every time you walk up to the vehicle?
Great video Ben. At the top of the list of attributes for luxury you outlined, reliability/dependability should be the top attributes along with ride comfort, build quality, refinement and performance etc. I know Lexus is a bit slow to add the most up to date tech to their flagship vehicles, however when they do update the tech, it is usually dependable and reliable. Did this F Sport version come standard with the bird’s eye view display option? Or do you have to purchase some additional package to get it?
You beat me to it. This is basically the same car that you can get for $40k used right now. The LS is supposed to compete with the 7-Series, and BMW is eclipsing Lexus right now. They still haven't added All Wheel Steering to this vehicle? They make a great product but continue to lag behind BMW, Audi and MB in the technology department. Step it up, Lexus!

With the engine cladding removed, you would be surprised at how fastidiously Lexus aligned all of the various hoses, cables and general engine bay items. It is a pity it is all covered up.
It cost less because it offers less. That doesn’t make it a bargain. It’s massively outsold by far more expensive cars. That tells the story right there. I'm honestly not the biggest fan of the current look of lexus sedans. Not sure if it's been a while since they've received a proper re design, but I guess they appear a bit dated to me IMO. I will say that of all the sedans I've seen from lexus, it's looks pretty good and probably the nicest look of them currently. Edit: I think the steering wheel is kind of ugly though. I feel like im the only person that actually will dislike an entire vehicle if the steering wheel doesnt look nice. Ford and chevy are absolutely the worst offenders, but fortunately the newer chevys design language is cool and the new steering wheels in their updated cars are actually really nice. The ford exception is the bronco and mustang, the mustang wheel is easily top 3 for me. And the broncos have a similar satisfying squared unique look. But things like the malibu, or escape are so ugly it burns my eyes. The chevy wheel has a bizarre hour glass shape with no symmetry with a huge ugly design. And the ford has what i can only describe as a 'torso' like appearance. Im convinced they wanted to emulate a chest to signify toughness or something, its nice to have originality and your own defining looks w manufacturers, but they absolutely could have executed the style in any way and they chose to make an ugly ass wheel
I don't know about bargain. $20k to $30k more than cars that have better engines and options. m340i, ct5-v, ct4-v, even the g70 or g80 are a lot better. I mean it is a good car though, just very over priced.
