That's a soothing balm and a powerful solvent if I ever did hear one. It requires no big effort or adopting a new belief system or dogma. It really doesn't fall under a New Age, power of positive thinking, law of attraction banner, either. When the "soul" is understood, not as a separate entity or "spiritual ego" but rather, as our most essential, true and real nature, then by that definition, it shines, scintillates, transforms and fulfills this way. It is plain and simple and an excellent reflection of the actual emergence of our true nature in the present, actualizing itself effortlessly and naturally like a resplendent lotus opening beneath the Sun of the Way. This is best listened to with an open, relaxed demeanor and it does not seem to require any intellectualizing or figuring out. In fact, if you find yourself arguing with it, just what sense does that really make? However, bringing one's resistance out in the light by way of a mirror-like teaching like this may be most useful because it is that solvent that swiftly dissolves the dry, cracking layers of old paint that are a matter of the frequency of the current gestalt of patterns and conditioning that we find we no longer need at all as they are merely self-defeating and even useless. The Self actualizes itself as us recognizing it. Just what would several listens over a period of time reveal and bring forth? That is the marvel of it and now our mud settles and the water clears. Ah! Perfect timing for all! May all beings be truly happy and filled with genuine loving kindness flowing bountifully with great compassion, joy and equanimity that is vast and boundless: Peace Profound, beyond understanding. It is all one thing and one thing only, the imagination of separation is the final frontier as we ripen and open into the great mystery of total functioning as complete, fulfilled unity in awareness. Be That! Be Glad! Just Be!
In order for the true nature of self (i.e. "ananda" in Sanskrit meaning "bliss") to shine forth and be felt as gladness, the obstacles to gladness must be removed. That "removing" is famously referred to in yoga scripture via the following phrase: "chitta vritti nirodhah" (Sanskrit), meaning "yoga is the restraint of the modifications of the mind" (i.e. restraint of the thoughts, especially disapproving thoughts, which disturb your consciousness). Relax the disapproving thoughts, (even the very subtly disapproving thoughts!!) and just be glad in the present moment instead, because by being glad, you are acting as a reflection of your Atma (your soul whose true nature is Sat-Chit-Ananda). Learn to be AS glad for whatever situation the present moment happens to bring you, as though you yourself were its author, with the attitude of knowing that you could not even write a better script than what is already being written and given to you, here and now.
Thank you so much for this reading and for introducing me to this amazing author. You put big smile on my face. “Be glad just because you are here! ❤️🙏🏻
