Quick tip, when the spring is compressed use a load of good quality, thick plastic zip ties to hold the spring compressed and make life easier removing and reinstalling then just cut them off when you are bolted back up
Awesome video and well filmed, now I know exactly how I'm supposed to install my 2" lift tomorrow. I must say, I've been watching and learning alot from your videos. Bought my first Jeep TJ 3 weeks ago. Keep up the good work!
Lookin’ good! Jealous of your lack of rust. You sure did quick work getting those springs out. I should have used that technique vs spring compressors.
Thanks Ed! Yeah, this is the way I always do it if just doing 2" lift. I think I could do it with 3" lift but never tried. That would diffidently mean more pry bar use. Thanks for watching and stopping by!
Thanks for the video. I have 2 inch spacers and 2 in longer springs and mine still sits lower in the nose due to the ARB bumper and winch. I think after watching this I am going to look for some 3 in lift springs and keep the spacer to put under the front to get rid of the rake. I like the even keel look so much better. 😍 My Rustys lift is fairly old and could use some refreshing. Want to drive to Missouri to help lol.
Yeah, he has really took interest in vehicles and is learning to work on them. I am proud of him for that! These Jeeps are great because of the simplicity. Thanks for stopping by Mark
I just bought a rust-free, red, 2000 Sport from a guy in Florida and drove it back home to Wisconsin. I asked him if he had a name for the Jeep and he told me Little Red.
Have to say, I like the before picture with the 31s. For a 2 inch lift I think another inch or two on the tires would work better. Appearance wise I mean, I don’t intend to do any offloading in my Jeep. this won’t be a popular opinion I’m sure but it’s the way I like it.
Did you have to do anything to the driveshaft? Installed 2” lift springs from rock krawler and the rear swaybar bracket. I’ve noticed a little driveshaft vibration
Yeah, not a fan of body lifts. If they are on the small side it's not too bad. The one I removed was 3". It just looked funny. I know some mods require a body lift. The tummy transmission tuck is the one I am thinking of. If someone is wheeling hard then that would be needed to get rid of the shovel skid plate we all start with lol.
The bump stops are a good idea if you are going to do some trail riding where you will need full articulation. I don't need them because we don't use it as a trail rig(red Jeep). On my green Jeep I have full articulation without bump stops. My springs fully compress and stop articulation before my tire reaches the fender. I don't use them on either Jeep but I don't have an issue where I need them. I know that doesn't help much but that is my experience. Thanks for watching!
I honestly don't know. You can look at this red one with 31's and 2" lift with wheel spacers. I honestly think 33's would be a bit big for this Jeep. The tires were too close to the fenders so we did a 2" lift. 2" bigger tires(33's) would put the tires right against the fenders again. No room for off-roading. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!
i just purchased a lift for my 99 Tj and i haven't started on it but I've heard that i might have to make some adjustments for the radiator or a yoke. any of that sound familiar to you? its a 3 inch lift thank you for the videos
Depends on what lift you have. If it is a body lift you will have to move stuff like the radiator and fan shroud. If it is a suspension lift you may not have to do anything. What do you have?
I have it pinned in the comment of what we used. I think it may be in the description if you don't see the comment. No sir. With the straight axle all is well. What does change a little is the caster and the only way to fix that is with adjustable control arms or cam bolts. With a 2" lift you don't have to adjust caster. Anything above 2.5" lift will need some way to adjust caster. That is when the lift kit gets expensive(control arms are expensive). I am happy with 2" lift so no need for caster adjustment. Thanks for watching!!

Best video on this process I’ve seen so far! Simple and to the point.
Thanks a lot!
I followed you on the OBS and now I purchased a Jeep and found you here, lol. Great and simple content!!!
Thanks, that is great. Funny how things work out. Tell me what you are purchasing next and I may have that also lol! Thanks for watching!

Thanks Karbon! Glad to help.
Best video explaining how to work on the TJ suspension. Very to the point. Thanks.
Thanks a Lot!
Great video on how things can be done without all the exspecive tolls and lifts!
Thanks Nathan! Thanks for watching!
Great video! It gave me the confidence to finally install the budget boosters I bought 5 years ago!
That's great Brian! Glad you found the video useful!

@@ForceBuilt fair enough lol! One of the best ways to learn is to do it yourself! I plan on doing that pretty soon I hope. Have a great weekend.
Great to see Seth involved in some of his mods.

Really enjoyed this video, I've been wondering how hard it would be to add a lift to my TJ. I believe I can handle it for sure now. Thanks so much!
Thanks a lot. Sure you can handle it. Good luck!
I just bought a rust-free, red, 2000 Sport from a guy in Florida and drove it back home to Wisconsin. I asked him if he had a name for the Jeep and he told me Little Red.
Awesome Jeff! Are you keeping the name? It just feels natural for some reason.
@@ForceBuilt No, her new name is Rosie. My mom's middle name was Rose.
Just found this video. Yes, sir, I think you've got it right, perfect size tires with the lift.
Thanks Geezer 49. I think your right. I do like the look. Thanks for watching!
GREAT JOB GUYS‼️ Vinny 🇺🇸
Thanks Vinny!
very well explained video, at this lift do you need abjustable control arms to keep the stock caster?
Keep the stock ones. They are perfectly fine.
Love the video! Subscribed from Simpson County, Ms.

Great video. Any wobble after lift? And did you have to upgrade any steering or suspension parts to accommodate the loft?
No wobble. Drive great. We did not do anything else but what you see in the video and it worked out great! Thanks for watching!
Great TJ video as always. What brand and size tires are those? I tried to zoom in but can’t read the sidewall.
They are Kumho 31x10.50 15r. Thanks for watching!
Cool upgrade
Love your videos. What is the brand of the lift?
This is what I purchased(amzn.to/3MLotFg) (amzn.to/3MZQSYj). The front ones doesn't list a brand name. I got them from Amazon. Thanks for watching!
This is a very interesting video, no longer shocks? No extended sway bar links?
Just the spacers.
Looks good.
Are you running 31’s?
Any change to highway handling?
31's yes. Good eye. Performance is GREAT! Nothing noticeable on the road.
Great Video, thanks
Thanks Mark!
What about bump stop extensions did you need to put the extensions in? I'm looking to do the same lift and any advice would be great ☺️👍

Do you think 255/85/16’s “33’s” would fit with a 2 inch lift and still be able to off-road?

How long did it take you? I’m doing mine this weekend by myself
I don't really know because of filming. I could do the whole job in 1.5-2 hrs. Wasn't hard at all. Thanks for watching!
So when you do this you do you remove one tire at a time, correc?t
Yes, That is what I did. Thanks
@@ForceBuilt thank you! I am going to do a 2 1/2 suspension lift but I have to paint around my components first so it may take a bit longer.

No it doesn't. Thanks for watching!

I'd say about 1.5 hours.
@@ForceBuilt 1 wheel or all 4?
@@liaodesign All 4 wheels. Pretty simple job. Thanks for commenting
What size tires?
31" tires. 31x10.5
I thought about a 2 inch lift with a 97 xj jeep sitting on 20 inch tires and lifted springs 20 will be tall enough
20 inch Tires? These are 31's. Thanks for watching
@ForceBuilt yes cause I won't need tall tires or a big lift kit so I'll go with 20s and a 2 inch lift
Do you have any issues with the drive shaft angles?
Not at all with the 2-inch lift spacers. Thanks for watching!
What size are the rims and tires?
15 x 8 rims and 31" x 10.50" tires. Thanks for watching!
