Why not suggest him to become a Pilot! He can save money first by being a flight attendant then do the course. Plus having the prior experience is a great advantage.

Someone wiser than I put it to me this way: the way to decide whether it's worth it or not is to look at your boss' duties and salary. If you're ok with being that in a few years, stick to it. Only downside is that they get paid only for the time spent airborne. Pilots on the otherhand get paid like 100-300 bucks an hour for any duty relating to the flight.
This explains why my mom won't let me be permaculture farm. The aspirations for $$$ outweighs the need for food. Also wouldn't let me be housewife either. Sleeping all day make gourmet food then complain about lack of money was fun.
I just want to say, as a Floridian, the Chinese food here is really bad. You can get good Thai, Vietnamese, or Korean. For some reason I can never get decent Chinese though.
