Ive gone into the process completely blind. Never watched a video to put it together. I wanted to truly test it. And its easier than i imagined. Amazing design work.
Another great video! I can't wait for the next one in the series. By the way, there are flaps at the bottom of the keyboard, numpad, and spacers to make it easier to lift them up from the magnets.
Thanks for the video, I binge watch laptop 16 videos. You're the only one who mentioned the thermal pad. Thanks for letting me know. I'm in batch 7, I should get mine early next month. I noticed your said the m.2 is 2270 (2:40) length, I believe it is 2280.
I feel like they should make a third option with prebuilt and diy. They should call it barebones edition as it everything is separated and you have to build the entire thing yourself for an even bigger discount.
The mouse pad module so unnecessarily wide? Does give a lot of placement options. Is it possible for the pogo pins to support a 2nd monitor in place of the numpad?
When I was setting up this laptop, I had to open and closed so many times and upgraded within the first week of recording, there are things that I did that was not captured in the video. Which reminds me I should probably go back and get those videos posted . Now I’m running a dual boot set up.
Unfortunately, no those panels do not work for the touchpad area. It’s a different design and layout. I can follow up with the TH-cam short to show you the difference.
@@Jscar_Hawk Hello, I would like to know what noise the fan makes playing AAA games like cyberpunk at 1080 p and 60 fps on high and medium. I would also like to know the gaming performance on battery. I would also like to know if the fans can be controlled with msi afterburner Thanks
Four panel color shift is not possible because it’s a different set up on the bottom. I’ll create a short to show the differences and link to this comment.
I wish they made an aluminum plate to eliminate the touchpad, because I absolutely loathe them, and prefer to use a mouse. But, I will admit that I'm probably a minority when it comes to that.
Once they get in stock, but right now they are focusing on getting them shipped with the folks who are buying it with a laptop and not singles. Once that changes, you bet I'll be picking up a few.
I am mixed on it to be honest. My Lenovo laptop has full arrow keys. The Framework 13 inch has full arrow keys for the left and right, but short ones for up and down.
I had to look up a translation. Your comment come back as "But you shouldn't let the thingy fall down. Just a toy." It is a heavy toy at about 5 lbs. (2.26796 Kilograms).
Сотни видосов про этот ноутбук и абсолютно на каждом все собирают стандартный вариант. Ноутбук даёт видимо то что никому и не нужно с этой модульностью клавиатуры
At time of shipping, you only had one or two options of keyboards. Now after about six months or so, you have the ability to go through and select and get shipped different types of keyboards.
I voted with my wallet! It's not my daily driver currently. I still have my Framework 13 inch for that. I Treat the 16 inch as a desktop replacement or home lab machine.

Great point. It is still magnetized down, so it holds it close to the plate even with the tabs.

Awesomesauce!!! That’s a good callout in the NVME sizes, thanks for the corrections!
@@Jscar_Hawk You're welcome. I'm looking forward to seeing more reviews from you.
awesome, thank you very much for this in detail video. just received my framework laptop today and love it.
Glad it helped!

Good video, us in Batch 5 are now getting pre-shipping notifications! 😁
Oh nice!

I am looking forward to see what the community will come up with, Including different touchpads and side pannels.
You missed an nvme cooler under the stick as well.

man this thing is heavy but you can literally feel the quality
I absolutely agree
Do the color panel and LED matrix also work if placed at the bottom, or only if next to the keyboard?

Great, followed step by step without a hitch
Fantastic, glad to hear it!
How is the performance on battery? there is a big loss of performance?
Ok, that is a big question.
What is your use cases?
Is there one you would like me to test?
Light web browsing?
Gaming on a AAA Game?

Can you do 4 panels color shift?

You meant for storage 2280, right? LOL.
Yes, that is what I meant. Thank you!
Need a booboo bagins numpad for a hidden mouse compartment. The mouse teraforms into a mickey mouse sanpan.
I am looking forward to seeing what folks come up with for other modules!

I bet SOMEONE, can or will make it.
All the specs are known, so folks can create what they want
Couldn’t you just order a bunch of extra spacers or led matrix panels?

Just disable it in the OS. Linux, at least, lets you also automatically disable it when a mouse is connected.

At some point I must of taken it off to let it charge.
It was a joke. You were doing surgery on the laptop.@@Jscar_Hawk
ahhhhh, got it, I follow :-D
That keyboard is rough man. 2000$ and there's no arrow keys, just some weird ineffectual nubs.

Well you're in luck, because it's modular. So they'll definitely make ones where your needs meet.
@@FR4M3Sharma It is modular, but it requires for the part to be made.
