I started playing PB back in the late 90s early 2000s and had an original Autococker sniper 2. The local shop owner would “train” us if we wanted to learn to play competitively. Training always started with 5 newbie’s against one of his team players all of us had to use a pump paintball gun and no hopper just the short 10 ball tubes and we could carry as many as we wanted. What he would tell us before we started was to pay close attention to where the balls getting shot at us were coming from and to take advantage of when others were being shot at. Honestly it sucked bad at first and seemed impossible but it really paid off in the long run.
