    I really like how this bench turned out and it was one of my bigger projects to date. The white oak is absolutely beautiful, but what wood would you make this project out of to meet your design style?

      That white oak looks amazing. I wouldn't change a thing👍

    Very nice! Like the design change. I looks uniform now.
    In this case you really need a Domino to go along with that Kapex. It would have made it soooo easy. JimE

      A Domino would be a very nice addition to my shop but I think I'm going to have to make about 100 more videos until I can afford that tool 😂

    Great design and build and well produced video. Even though there seems to be some sort of bias against pocket hole joinery, it is simply the best way to join in many situations. Maybe us woodworkers sometimes take ourselves too seriously. 😊

      Thank you and I agree pocket holes makes projects so much easier!

    I would love to see more of these styles of build and video tutorials, which are both clear and helpful.
    I am pleased you showed your mistakes, too.
    10/10 from me.

    Really, really like that bench! Wish my bathroom was big enough to put one in. Like the length of this video. Would like to see something for the outdoors, backyard, front porch. But really anything you do is fine, I’ll watch.

      Thank you, and thanks for the feedback. If half the size would fit in your bathroom, then you can easily adjust this design to be half the size:)

    Great job Winnie! I like both small and big builds so maybe a mixture of both. How often do you use your laser?

    • @standishwoodstory
      @standishwoodstory  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you Cliff and thanks for the feedback. I use my laser regularly, but mostly to make templates and for logo engraving. Why do you ask? Are you considering one yourself or do you want to see more laser projects?

      @@standishwoodstory Good morning Winnie. Both, I am wanting to get a laser at some point, just not in the budget right now. I would like to see some of the things you do on the laser as well

    Beautiful bench. White oak is extremely popular with interior designers.

    • @standishwoodstory
      @standishwoodstory  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm tempted to say that it's sadly popular all around, "sadly" because the price of white oak has gone through the roof in my area in the last couple of years.

    Nice work. With the jessem using the indexing pin as a physical stop instead of marking and using the central line is much more easier and faster. Also if you have a vice to hold the piece, and kreg autoclamp, that speeds it up a bit.

    • @standishwoodstory
      @standishwoodstory  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I used the index pin a couple of times but was still having trouble, maybe I’m using it incorrectly 😂 🤷🏼‍♀️

    Great build :) Amazon sells $35.00 +/- self centering dowel jig that takes away 99.99% of the aggravation, the included drill bit I got with mine was undersized so useless. Drill centers for dowels are also very handy 😀

    I don't care what you build next it's always a pleasure to watch, and this bench is outstanding. However, do yo not own a proper tape measure with inchs and feet? As a Canadian, most of us still don't use metrics, and your biggest audience (the Americans) certainly won't understand it

    • @standishwoodstory
      @standishwoodstory  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you very much. I do own imperial measuring tapes, but I'll be honest with you, designing is a LOT easier in metric, less complicated math required ;) I did include my cut list in the beginning of the video in both metric and imperial, so no matter what yours preference is I got you covered :)
