  • I saw this cockatoo sitting on a water fountain trying to lick some moisture off, so i went up and asked if he wanted some water.
Exact same spot as this video • Sulfur-Crested Cockato... though they've replaced the tap of the fountain.

Very smart bird. He should know how to drink the water next time after watching you did that.

Seems like wild cockatoos are a lot more sane than 'tame' ones.

because people have no idea what parrots need and make them frustrated

@@nightmarecreature4489 yup exactly! Parrots need HUGE amounts of stimulation! Very few get it in captivity, in the wild, they can do the same stuff they do in captivity when humans are willing & the rest of the time, they can find their own entertainment, instead of being locked in a tiny cage with nothing to do but scream & bite

@@nightmarecreature4489 what you said made perfect sense to me :) I'm guessing we're both parrot owners aren't we? I've got years of wildlife rescue experience, but new to pet ones, with 2 rescue lorikeets I got at the beginning of this year. Since getting them I've learnt a LOT & learnt to pick fellow parrot owners too :) & also kinda been shocked at how little so many know about parrot needs (which would be fine, IF parrots weren't so easy for them to purchase)
