@@fionahunt2954 they are all very similar. It's how one reads it that matters, take your time or miss the point of the book. It took me months to understand the point of the book and how Eckhart woke up on a bench two years later.
For example, many people make prominence or prosperity their goal in life. Self-help books abound on how to outsmart others to gain prestige or to become rich. The Bible, on the other hand, tells us: “The rivalry of one toward another . . . is vanity and a striving after the wind.” “A mere lover of silver will not be satisfied with silver.” (Ecclesiastes 4:
My top 3: 1. The power of Now - a spiritual book that talks about the power of living in the present because time is just a mental construct that hinders us more than helps us. Literally changed my life. 2. Atomic Habits - talks about how our mind does almost everything habitually and how to get our minds to habitually do things that will move us closer to our goals. 3. Think and grow rich - i don’t really have to say much for that lol. A must read if you ever want to be financially successful in life.
I have all the books mentioned in the comment but my first favorite books are the Holy Bible and Think and Grow Rich Through Persuation. I have 2 books of Think and Grow Rich too, Think and Grow Rich Through Persuation is the oldest

Robert Greene book 48 laws of power. I declined management positions because I did not understand human behavior and I tried to avoid conflict. If I read 48 laws earlier, I would have a different career.
Man's Search for Meaning. Amazing, powerful book. Read it. It's a short read. By Dr. Viktor Frankl, a concentration camp survivor. He founded Logotherapy, which is finding meaning in life as a remedy for things like depression. That book is about his experiences as survivor of the Nazi camps. One thing I learned is that some of the camp guards were humane. Of course, most were not. He also had the line that sticks in my mind 20 years later: "Meaning comes from your interface with the world." Ever notice how an older person suffering from depression suddenly comes to life when there is a task - they have to pick a kid up, or they volunteer as a door greeter at Walmart, or even taking care of a pet or plant. Meaning is not found with you in meditation, self-absorbed or "following your bliss." It could be that, but he's saying that your meaning in life comes from other people, society, your interactions with them. And also, no matter what you face, you can decide in that moment how it affects you, so it;s also a deeply Stoic book.
Meditations by Marcus Aurelius, The Art of War, Getting to Yes, The Road Less Travelled,Super Memory-Super Student, Make it Stick...I have a long list :)
The War of Art--examines why so many people get 99% of the way to their goal, discussing how the push against achievement gets stronger towards the end, as the universe pushes back to prevent force of change, only the best and most tenacious push through...not as you imagine getting over the hump with most of the work done. So logical, scientific, phenomenal read. Life altering as you begin to SEE it after that.
High Performance Habits by Brendon Burchard was the best book I've read in a long time, and I read a lot. Second best would be Deep Work by Cal Newport. If you haven't read these, definitely add them to your list!

You’re absolutely right, though it bypasses the point he’s making. Take Michael Jordan for example: he’s one of the greatest basketball players to ever live, he was also a “track star” as you say. But was he ever the best at both of those at the same exact time? To be the best at anything, you have to put 100% into *that one thing* alone. It doesn’t mean a person cannot excel at multiple things, just that each additional discipline will detract from the others. Triathlon winners train to be the best at those combined disciplines performed in succession, though I have yet to see one who is the best at any one of those disciplines in isolation. So the point to remember is that once you identify that single thing which you are determined to own and be the absolute best at, it’s necessary to focus 100% on that, else you will always be second to whom so ever *does* give it their all goes all in on that one single thing.
