Looks like a good pole. I've been using the Drennan Acolyte Carp pole for the last seven years and it's served me well. The reason I bought it was because I never fish a 16 meters and Drennan gave you the option of buying it at 13, 14.5 or at the full 16. I bought the 13 meter and saved about £600. I know you've used the Drennan pole so wold you say the Superium is just as good or even better? As for all those saying it's a heavy pole, well it's a carp pole but if it's lightness and stiffness you want then get a roach pole. You wouldn't go out and buy a Transit van then complain it won't do zero to 60 in three and a half seconds like a Lamborghini can would you. It's all about horses for courses.
Thanks for that Ben, But it would of been nice to see it in action on big lumps, It's a pity they don't produce top end poles in the UK to 13m and not 16m , As they do for the continent, I think that would do most people at 13m , As it's very rare people fish over 13m, I know in the past I have had a 16m pole and most of the time I've only used them up to 13 meters and the other sections become very expensive storage tubes, it would also make the poles more affordable at 13m and they could give people the option to buy the other sections, I would rather Fish with a very good 13m Pole then a ok16m pole.
Hi Ben, I’ve been looking at these poles and there is one on EBay at a reasonable price. My mate has just bought the x30 new and I was wondering how they compare mainly from a weight/ balance point of view? I have an old Sensas 14.5 meter carp at the moment and I struggle even at 13 meters to be honest.
Great vid as always Ben. Im looking at getting the x20 do you rate is as i know you had it. Also is their much difference to the x20 and x30 apart from the length? Cheers👍
Hi Ben. I hope you don’t mind me asking, but I have again watched you vid on Icm cage feeder fishing, now I either missed it or you never said, what the hook length was, was it 6” 8” 12” ? I appreciate this was 3 years ago, but if you could let me know the length it would be great, thanks😊
All good. Depends on time of year. If there feeding really well 4 or 6inch if the bites are shy they sometimes want a longer hook link as much as 15inch. if your getting lineners shorten up
Hi Ben, if your fishing involved 60% f1 / carp fishing, 30% bream / silvers and 10% canal fishing, would the X50 be the better option? Or could this pole still do all that?
Nice video, featuring the Superium Carp Pole and your family. But such a shame that the peace at such a good looking venue is ruined by the unnecessarily noisy anglers, shouting and swearing to each other. Also not keen on the fencing around the platforms, I can imagine many nice carp have been bashed against them.
Yeah I hate that too. I over look the rowdy side as the fishing is so good. Most people are spot on there just the odd few. Unfortunately its all over.
This is way better than the daiwa G90 I know the daiwa fan boys won't like that comment but it's true get them side by side and see for yourself more strength better balance cheaper better top kits
I have this pole and I am very disappointed in it so far . Broke 3 sections so far . The 4 th section has broke twice in the same place . I have always had diawa poles in the past and won’t be buying any more preston poles.
I’ve the Superium X50 and the Superium Margin Pole. Love that combination.
great poles

Yeah the Drennan is a solid bit of kit. Not much in them both, maybe slightly newer tech in the preston. All about the balance for me it fishes great

Keep watching fella loads moreover the summer I'm sure we will have some bigger ones on camera
great review as ever - now for me to decide preston xs70 or browning z83 advance held both not much in them to be fair
both are great. It's what you want in a package & balance, best to sit side by side if you can
I'm sure dolly butts are available for the slimmer sections, they just decided to not include them to keep the package price down.
Maybe, I have added a short 3 & f1 kits to the package for extra stiffness when shallow fishing
spoke to a guy who had one who said he wished he had got the x 70.
x70 is an allrounder so i understand that. most of my fishing is out and out carp this fits bob on for me, but were not all the same.

the x30 is defiantly stiffer but x20 is great super strong
i have this pole and the No 3 broke on a carp of about 5lb luckily preston replaced it thanks to North Notts Angling of Worksop
happens on all poles fella, not fun very annoying but that's the way it goes. mass produced items every so often there will be a defect.

Its in 4k checked bud in the drop down tab on video

Yes or the x70

what made you take this over a g90 dude? top kits on preston are better than interelastic pullers but the pole im not sure
This is way better than the daiwa G90 I know the daiwa fan boys won't like that comment but it's true get them side by side and see for yourself more strength better balance cheaper better top kits

How have Preston been about replacing the broken sections? Did they charge you?
What's preston said/done to/for you?
unfortunately this can happen with any pole, I have had several other manufactures with same results
@@herosandwich7589 they told me I had dinked the section. How can you dink 2 no 4 s in the same place.
@@danielskinner6377 they won’t replace them . That’s it.
