What’s funny if you think about it, is that the power levels of his Shikai and Bankai are reversed too. His Bankai he only uses for large groups of enemy minions whilst he uses his Shikai for the big bosses.

Exactly a great point as well. Everything Shinji says or does has always been reversed. Even his introduction had him upside down.
He resisted his Hollowfication the most just to have the most power out of all of the Vizards as a Hollow as well
no need to think about it, it's Shinji himself who says it that his bankai is strong against groups of weak enemies while his shikai is effective against a strong fighter

This, I was looking forward to this when the dub was announced.
This was the scene that made me respect the new voice actor. While it’s a very different voice for Shinji, he nailed this. I didn’t really care for him in the first season of TYBW, but he’s really grown on me.

Shinji would have the best shikai in the series if he could only shut his mouth and kill the enemy sooner than later!
Once the enemy figures out everything is inverted they can adapt so it's only OP if he's got the element of surprise and they are too busy figuring it out.
In the novel CFYOW, it actually isn't just reversed. He can manipulate the outputs so up is left down is right then left is left and right is up and so forth. It's why in his fight with Bambietta, he'd "faze in and out." Her perception is being manipulated so where she thinks Shinji is has been altered.

Yes it's very simple, but he had told her the information, she had an exact counter and realized it because of that information.
If he had not said that and she had hit him with a direct attack, then she would not have known that it was an optimal strategy. Because she only CAN attack in an AOE. It's not like her general vicinity explodes. Every time she attacks, she throws a bomb and chooses where it goes. He gave her the information to know to lay bombs everywhere.
Without that information, he might be an illusion, he might just be that fast, he might have intangibility. She doesn't know what's effective then

Am i the only who found it bizzare that a the Sternritter was able to steal a Visored's Bankai? A Shinigami's Zanpakutō is a part of a Shinigami 's soul, so if said Shinigami is mutated into a Visored via Hollowfication, then the Zanpakutō his also Hollowfied, including said Zanpakutō's Shikai and Bankai.
They didn't steal any visords bankai
They never stole Bankai from the Visored.
Byakuya, Komamura, Hitsugaya and SoiFon are the only four to get their Bankai stole.

TYBW is what’s called a Non-union dub and several of the old cast have during these 10 years since the previous season become Union actors.
From my understanding, a union actor can’t work on a non-union project and that’s why Shinji, Komamura, Ukitake and a few others had their voice actors replaced in this arc

The most likely reason I’ve seen everyone say is that it’s because TYBW is a non-union dub.
Several of the old cast have become Union actors over the years so they can’t work on non-Union projects.
So Shinji is now Aleks Le instead of Roger Craig Smith

the weakness is just mostly being in a 1v1 fights since it becomes useless, its mostly broken in huge groups just like how shikai is good in 1v1 but not in groups
