MT was too advanced and articulate, I’ve never seen that kind of style. Ness was good but nothing different about him stood out. First time seeing both battle as I’ve watched Hoan, Nelson, Greenteck etc so I know what different looks like!
Tbh partial of mt’s styles comes from non-eb popping styles and OGs. They have been ignored and treated unfairly. Its not really new and “unique”, its been suppressed
Mt is very good. His creative in the animation style. Thing is he doesn’t use the space much. I really like his concepts where you see a process (beginning, middle,end and plot twist lol) Ness on the other hand is straight boog style. He uses the space ALOT. I personally see why ness won. Not like it was clear cut.

MT Roasted. Higher level of technical, muscle control and creativity in his movements. I will say this though, he is in an awkward phase. If you go back to his old battles, there is a lot of raw funk in ALL of his movements. Some of this here comes across as trying too hard to show what he can do and a bit cheesy. However, every good dancer has these awkward transitions before they transcend to the next level and fully integrate their new ideas with their roots again. Excited to see where he takes things, once he melds these new concepts with a harder/funkier edge judges wont be able to deny his W.
My honest opinion. we need a round 3. M T pop is so coordinated it's amazing how he can get his limbs to do completely independent things while maintaining lines and angles. I call it a tie, and anyone that says MT pop won by a lot, needs to go to the studio in my opinion. Ness had some good beat kills in there that can't just be written off. What MT pop does is more entertaining, but this isn't a popularity contest. Then again you could say Ness won because it was a popularity contest in France. So we needed round 3.
MT Pop is no doubt a crowd favorite, and he’s one of the best out there. But I also understand why many can’t understand when he loses. People think Boogaloo and being funky is easy. It’s not. At all. Most of the people if not all of the people commenting that “MT Wins easily” are either newbies, fans, or people who can’t Boogaloo or groove. The thing about funk, soul, and Boog…is IT LOOKS EASY. It’s meant to look smooth and easy like it takes no effort. When you try it yourself…ahhhhhh not so easy. What MT Pop is doing is not easy either. Super clean isolation, pathways in his waves and threads are beautiful eye candy. His musicality and patience and presentation is PERFECT! This is all easy to digest for the audience and 9/10 people will prefer to watch MT. He’s more fun to watch. But that doesn’t mean he wins. Sure Ness is missing some of these things. But he has some of it. MT is missing funk in the hips, and breaking his angles down as well as being free with his legs. Everything he does is calculated and safe. No risk. Ness is taking risks and free in the moment with his dancing and funk. Maybe less fun to watch at times. But executing the Pop and Boog on a very high level. While throwing waves, isolations and animated muscle control at times. Close battle. But stop saying “easy win” for MT Pop. No way. It shows you don’t understand the dance and many styles within it.

Here's the thing, being funky and dancing is easy... but what makes it hard is doing that under pressure in a stressful environment. When you have anxiety it's almost impossible to be funky and dance, so that's what makes it difficult it's more the mentality if you can control that anxiety and be comfortable dancing then dancing and being funky that's easy. The mental part that's the challenge. This is coming from someone who does all styles and I can boog and be funky at home but when it comes to dancing around people when I have social anxiety, yeah nah I can't be funky or dance well at all lol. So I stick with robot is a style that actually works well when you're a bit more stiff and under anxiety it actually helps the robot dance being more stiff
I didn't see the Juste Debout Gold but I've heard the only category who won deservedly so was House, it's not shocking since it's a French tourney. But to be fair when it comes to MT vs Ness they might thought MT looked similar to previous rounds (funny since one the judges is King Charles)...
Ness pulled out The Bird and swept MT Pop outa there. Ness keeps winning because he grooves effortlessly and isolates with purporse. MT Pop as amazing as he is, comes off displaced with his compositions.

There were no MT Pop moments. Ness had the ticking into the stomp round 1 and the Bird into a spin and point round 2. I can't remember anything unique from MT's rounds.
MT Pop is amazing but his style will never win in most tournaments. The problem with MT Pop is that he can't outdance people. For example, the first 30 secs of his first round he stood in the same place. Compared to Ness who is constantly moving his legs and dancing. People need to appreciate how much harder that is to do than to stay in the same spot and throw shapes. Also when you stay in the same place it looks like choreography which some judges don't like.
That's hilarious because a lot of these poppers can't dance and groove to the beat without popping. MT can do that; you can see it in his dance. A lot of these boogaloo dancers, their movement doesn't make sense at all; their legs and arms do not connect; it's like they are throwing them out there and hope it looks good. Go watch MT pop and Slim Boogie; all their parts are connected, and everything makes sense. Nesss needs to work on his arm angles, its sloppy, pretty much every boogaloo dancers has this problem, imo.

Some of these dancers only know how to pop/hit. They have no skills on their legs-they can't GLIDE/Moonwalk(which is an important discipline in Popping) and they just take big steps to walk around.
