I get stuck on writing books quite a lot. What I do, is if I need to do something outside or I have nothing to do, I walk around and think about all the things that can happen next. I don't just think about it outside, but I think about it like almost all the time. I've just started the Wings of Fire series.... and omg IT'S AMAZING! I rented the first one at my library and I got the book done in about 4 or 5 days. For my birthday my mom got me the first five books of the series! I'm currently on book 2 right now. Eeek WoF is such a good series. Can't wait for more!
:SPOILERS FOR DARKSTALKER BOOK: I'm reading WoF Legends Darkstalker! He's so funny! My favorite part is where indigo is like "oh I hope I didn't make an enemy.." And Darkstalker says" oh you sure have!" XD I laughed so hard I also love the part where Fathom points the soul reader at Darkstalker and he's like "SERIOUSLY?" Writing is a passion of mine, and I have those moments of writers block too! Usually I just come up with as many possible next scenes as I can and sort through them, picking out my favorites and working with what I've already written to either combine them in some way, or add more details to make the idea fit. Another thing I do is ask my friend! She's a writer too, so I just email her my ideas and she gives me tips and suggestions :3

How I like to write my books (actually working on two, the first one almost being done in rough draft) is just contemplating my entire life until I find something that happened to me or someone else that would be fitting for my stories. I also like to listen to what's gone on with our society (and sometimes societies from the past) for ideas. Drawing can help me too. And making new friends and talking to them about interests and all that is just as helpful.
I am a HUGE fan of Tui! For Christmas, I made my parents run out and get the 8th book the day it came out, and my cousins got me a blanket with Winter printed on it!

Think if your ideas, yes, but when you're writing, just let your heart take over. That sounds like something out of a psychological therapy book, but it's true. If you just kind of let your subconscious write the descriptions and base your story in your feelings, experiences, and hopes, you can get some pretty cool results...

You in an alternate universe That's true, Warriors was all Erin Hunter. But wait...Tui wrote Seekers and Survivors as well? Say what?! I didn't know this!!! I only just recently started binge-reading Warriors, and I haven't really explored the other series by her, but this is really cool!
Some other things I do is I’ll force someone to do something with me, or I’ll go somewhere like the zoo, but I’ll be in my character’s mindset, so I’ll think about things differently and learn more about my characters. When I feel stumped, sometimes I’ll watch a show or one of my favorite movies. Sometimes I write alternate realities to get me excited. And, (my favorite option out of all of these), me and my friends have a group called Writer’s Club, where we work on collaborative stories and fix errors in each other’s books. We have some crazy ideas and conversations, and it’s the best antidote for writers block in my opinion. Tui’s books have inspired mine in huge ways, and we don’t even write about the same animals! Wings of Fire will always be special. You all have the power of Wings of Fire. I hope you found my ideas helpful
About number 3, I think it would be extremely fascinating to read a book where Tui condenses all of the writing she does about her characters that isn't relevant to the plot of the book currently being written. And I actually have a story relevant to number 5: so it's early march 2020 a couple days before the pandemic sends us into hibernation for the better part of a year and I decided to at least try to start writing a book, I had about 4 pages written, and then we were sent into lockdown. Then I continued writing in my journal, at one point even writing by flashlight under my sheets when I was supposed to be asleep, and I would always get an idea and be so anxious to write about it I would leave out important details, and by the time I got bored of writing I had done a full 10 pages in my composition notebook, and admittedly I'm not very proud of it because the way I would do it is "So they got from point A to Point B, but not without incident, blah blah blah this is what happened between point A and point B." I think it will be a while before I get another good idea for at least a short book, but it will probably never be published considering I'm literally a lazy 13 year old who's only ever read 3 series that he's liked, and I'm not exactly a neat writer...
Y'know, when I got writer's block over and over again for something that I wanted to write, I decided to make something that I would describe in my book, like a sculpture of a character it was fun and got me thinking of the next story :D

The book will take place on an alternate universe full of dragons, gryphons, phoenixes, wyverns, and other mythical creatures as well as creatures I made up that are based off of animals in real life.

In computer programming there is a term called rubber ducking, which is basically what you do to (with?) your husband and also your writing log, only you use a rubber duck. It's often that explaining the problem to someone leads to the solution. I'm just starting the series now, though I've had my eye on it for some time. Really enjoying it so far.

hey. so this is every late comment but i deal with writers block by eating or just refreshing my mind by just watching TH-cam, actually what i'm doing right now XD, so i'll try some of these and i wish you the best of luck on book 13 Tui and all the rest of the wings of fire series.
one thing i did once when i could just not figure out how to bring a few people back into the story when they had been gone a long time was i wrote down different ways they could come back. and that helped alot. problem now is im been stuck on this one part for so long i cant figure out how to make the book keep going... XD
I personally stop and go and draw a character whose involved in the scene i'm working on, it helps me kick start the creative gears in my head even if it is in a different medium
Going for a walk Whenever I do that I forget what I’m writing about, come back, spend my motivation on reading the story to remember what happened, and then the writing black re-appears
The Lone Wolf I do this a lot. I can't tell you how many times I've COMPLETELY rewritten a storyline. But the best way to overcome this is to mind of break it down. What is it that you don't like? Is it the plot, the characters, or something really big like that? Is it a couple of the scenes that you found just didn't fit? Or is it as small as a couple sentences? If it's a problem with the whole story, than you can try to change things without restarting or just plain restart. If it's something smaller, like a scene or a sentence, just rewrite that particular part. But before you do anything, get someone else's opinion who will give you an honest answer. Authors are often very harsh critics of themselves, so make sure that others think it isn't good, not just you (that sounded really twisted, but I think you know what I mean). And considering I'm writing a series with wolves that have magical powers in coherence with their appropriate element/element combination, I think winged wolves is pretty awesome.
I'd much rather see a book about phoenixes, gryphons, eagles with magic powers, or wyverns. I'm not a big fan of wolves. Don't take that as an offense, though.

Summer Flowers my favourite book is the lost heir too! It was also the first one I read. I found the series and I just picked out the lost heir. I read them in order after that though.
I think u should add a crazy twist.... for example... maybe u could put somebody like a little bit from all the tribes. Maybe frostbreath, camofluage, faster flying as fast as skywings, and poisonous barb PLZ I luv your books!
hey. so this is every late comment but i deal with writers block by eating or just refreshing my mind by just watching TH-cam, actually what i'm doing right now XD, so i'll try some of these and i wish you the best of luck on book 13 Tui and all the rest of the wings of fire series.

one thing i did once when i could just not figure out how to bring a few people back into the story when they had been gone a long time was i wrote down different ways they could come back. and that helped alot. problem now is im been stuck on this one part for so long i cant figure out how to make the book keep going... XD

I personally stop and go and draw a character whose involved in the scene i'm working on, it helps me kick start the creative gears in my head even if it is in a different medium

Whenever I do that I forget what I’m writing about, come back, spend my motivation on reading the story to remember what happened, and then the writing black re-appears

When I have block I think of something or think about the story and go to sleep. It usually works. If not I think a bout what the characters would do
What I do to fight writers block is play intense orchestral music to inspire me.

O_O :O DUDE. I AM WRITING A BOOK ABOUT WINGED WOLVES :O. FINALLY SOMEONE WHO THINKS THAT WOULD BE COOL.
The Lone Wolf I do this a lot. I can't tell you how many times I've COMPLETELY rewritten a storyline. But the best way to overcome this is to mind of break it down. What is it that you don't like? Is it the plot, the characters, or something really big like that? Is it a couple of the scenes that you found just didn't fit? Or is it as small as a couple sentences? If it's a problem with the whole story, than you can try to change things without restarting or just plain restart. If it's something smaller, like a scene or a sentence, just rewrite that particular part. But before you do anything, get someone else's opinion who will give you an honest answer. Authors are often very harsh critics of themselves, so make sure that others think it isn't good, not just you (that sounded really twisted, but I think you know what I mean). And considering I'm writing a series with wolves that have magical powers in coherence with their appropriate element/element combination, I think winged wolves is pretty awesome.
I'd much rather see a book about phoenixes, gryphons, eagles with magic powers, or wyverns. I'm not a big fan of wolves. Don't take that as an offense, though.
