Baby Monkey HATES Bath Time! 😫

  • This is 7 week old baby monkey, Chuey Du Bo Blake, and he literally despises bath time. Because of this reason, I choose to bathe him only once a week instead of daily like a lot of other monkey owners like to do.
    It is so stressful for he and I to go through it together, that we both have to have a break from one another afterwards, to calm down.
    This particular video is just Chuey’s third bath, as this is the third week I’ve had him. This is the first time I chose to use the kitchen sink to bath him. The first time, I was in the bathtub with him, and it was still a hard day for both of us.
    I do not look forward to giving him a bath, yet after many diaper changes and several hours of letting him go without a diaper on, bathing is necessary. So, we both have no other choice but to bite the bullet and get it over with….until next week. Ha!!
    I’ve noticed that after every bath, he falls right to sleep. I feed him a bottle right before I bathe him and every time now, his clean little furry smell good self cozies under warm covers and goes into dreamland with ease.
    I can only hope that as time moves forward, he will begin to enjoy bathing and playing with his toys in the process. I try to have many colorful bath time water toys that he can engage into play with, to take his mind off getting washed, but it hasn’t worked just yet. But, he is still young, so I haven’t given up hope. I know he has to feel better though. He sure does smell better, that’s for sure. I also give him treats afterwards as an “award”.
    We would really appreciate it if you liked and subscribed to our channel if this is content that you enjoy.
    I can’t stand the thought of raising a monkey without sharing his life with the world. It’s a first for me and him and we are bonding and growing together and we want to share our experiences with you.
    Thanks for watching.

    To those out here in youtube land, please, please do not seek to take in a monkey as a pet. You will not be helping them. They are not human infants. While intelligent, they will act according to their nature and in less than two years will more likely than not be uncontrollable. Some will refuse to be trained for anything. They will be destructive and dangerous. Many wish to help them, they can be quite charming while very small but they need to be with their own kind.

      I have been saying the same thing. I am a care giver for baby monkeys from 1 hours old to 26 days I get them. These are TRUE RESCUE babies not this made for You Tube nonsense. You will never understand the work that goes int o one baby I have upwards of 6 at one time each with different needs, menus, meds and supplements. This a stressful jog I absolutely adore these guys but 6 hungry crying infant monkeys will get to anyone. BEFORE YOU NITWITS START yes I'm trained, licensed and documented in Primate care.

    The biggest reason you are having difficulty is that you are too anxious, and are obviously expecting problems, and he is picking that up. He doesn't understand your words, but I can tell you that your tone of voice, and the speed you talk at, are making ME feel anxious as I listen to you. At one point you said "You're Okay" in a loud, screeching voice. Take the time to calm down before you attempt to bathe him, and I highly recommend the help of someone who is experienced and can troubleshoot your methods with you. You are going to end up with an anxious monkey, even a fear-biter, or worse.

    Baby capuchin: the new $20K American Mid-life Crisis...

  • @kellyann1811
    @kellyann1811 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    This poor little capuchin, it looks like he has the bad luck to end up with inexperienced owners. Sounds like you have no idea how to raise a baby monkey. This WILL come back to bite you because unless you know exactly what you are doing, including how to kindly discipline, provide structure and leadership, and not give too much freedom too soon, you WILL end up with a teenage monkey who will be unbearable. Please be aware that capuchins often 'decide' around the age of 16 mos or 2 years who in the family they will tolerate or like. This can mean you will no longer be her favourite, if you are now, and the monkey will choose to like someone else in the family instead. But know this will NOT be kids. All monkeys are bad with kids, and please prepare for your children to be threatened, bitten, or attacked when your monkey reaches sexual maturity or before. A good breeder won't sell you a monkey if you have small children. Monkeys are not a good pet to buy to have an 'experience' raising him or her.

    • @mypetIpet
      @mypetIpet  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      He doesn’t cry anymore when bathing. He actually enjoys the warm water now. That was only his third bath. I didn’t buy him from a breeder. I bought him from licensed caretakers that receive baby monkeys from zoos. His mother is in a zoo. This is my first monkey. So, yes, I am inexperienced with raising them. But, how can anyone gain experience if they never experience it once? That’s all part of it. I do not have any kids. I wouldn’t have sought after him if I did. I am estranged from my family, but I do socialize him by taking him with me everywhere I go. My neighbor has two grown Capuchin monkeys and has been a great source of knowledge for me. We have only known each other for a few weeks, and we just discovered we live 2 streets over from one another. I have to say, I was really excited about it. Soon, we plan on letting our monkeys meet each other so they can play together and be friends. I studying and watched monkeys for three years before buying Chuey. I appreciate you telling me not to allow him to have too much freedom as a younger monkey that that could cause problems in the future. Thanks for the advice, as I gladly welcome constructive criticism because it’s a great way to learn from others. So, thank you.

    Well its really sad it's so young .........but honestly when it comes to an infant act exactly like the mother . 1 a monkey mom wouldn't use a faucet or leave it running they don't like loud or strange ....use you head
    2 mom would be doing alot of grooming so use a wash cloth like a tongue warm and damp
    3 don't use shampoos and scented anything their skin is sensitive and if they are scratching alot your washing way too much
    4 it doesn't need a bath everytime it needs a diaper change and it's OK to leave the diaper off since it's an infant it should be clinging to you 20 hrs a day use a towel tie it wrapped around your arms or drapped over your shoulder
    5 watch monkey videos act like mom discipline bad behavior like mom you don't have to spank him body language and fast aggressive pushes or hold it down for time out ..don't reward crankyness or crying fits push him off of you and hold him away
    6 just act like a monkey mother even fur grooming is so important
    Once it's asleep for the night put it in a cage or sleeping box wrapped in a blanket but don't use the blanket to comfort it alot it needs to know your mom not the blanket biggest mistake is making a blanket monkey you can never break the habit

    The monkey could careless about those letters in the sink. If the monkey needs a towel or stuffed animal to cling to it is definitely wanting his real mom. The breeders lie when they say a mother is used to having her baby taken. That mother grieves and the baby wants to nurse and feel protected. Your not doing that at all. Just because you are from the USA doesn't make you any less complicit in the illegal pet monkey trade abroad. Your still making money off of these animals. It's abuse. They don't get nightly baths in the wild. Heck even a domesticated dog doesn't get bathed every night and wear a diaper.

You've ruined this monkeys life just so you can use him as a novelty. And you just lie to yourself about it while a commenter like this comes along to enforce that belief.
