The impact that man had at WHU was insane. Free kicks, Goals, Assists, Skills. Payet gave me some of my best live football memories. 2015/2016 season at Upton Park watching him was something else. He controlled everything.

The chemistry between these two is great entertainment
He was only at WH for two years, but what amazing two they were. As a Liverpool fan I only have positive things to say about him. He scored some crazy goals for them. He obviously left for family reasons snd WH were good for letting him go, but they also realised it probably wasn’t worth having a player who was desperate to leave, it would have told in his performances. He’s now 37 and playing in Brazil for Vasca.
That interview was hilarious especially the bit about the name Leslie. Danny saying you were Lez until your mum was annoyed with you then you became Leslie is so true.

As a fantasy player I caught on to how good Payet was within a few games ……..absolute class in every facet of the game and how he went to Marseille and never played for a top top club is one of the most baffling things of all time…..his touch and decision making was off the charts.

Dicanio also won the fifa fair play award for catching the ball and stopping play when he had a great chance of scoring, so an opponent could have treatment away at Everton .
When Barthez tried cheating Dicanio into stopping him scoring claiming the referee had blown the whistle, he took no notice and scored, away at manU.
But tbh , a cold wet midweek night game away at Barnsley etc he didn't play claiming he was 'injured' lol ,

Biggest myth in football that West Ham are a big team. Wigan Athletic have achieved more in the last 40 years.
What do you class as a 'big' club ?
And how can you claim Wigan have ACHIEVED MORE than westham in the last 40 years ?
I believe Wigan are in the 3rd division, and have spent more years in lower leagues than westham have in those 40 years.
Wigan won the FA cup about 10 years ago,
westham won the Euro conf cup year before last.
Westham have NEVER been lower than the 2nd division, over 90% of our time has been in the top division. ( one of only a few clubs can claim that)
Westham have a huge fan base, we sell out over 60k each home game,
I think Wigan stadium is under 30k , even though Wigan have a larger catchment area and unlike westham are not surrounded by a bunch of premier league & lower league clubs all within a couple of miles of each other.
I've travelled around many countries throughout my life and always come across other westham fans,fan clubs, , even before the premier league existed and started showing games around the world.
Westham have attracted many top players who are world famous,
Wigan might have had one or two top players but without looking none that come to my mind .
I don't know how many times Wigan have played in Europe in 40 years, apart from the time after winning the FA cup, and I haven't a clue how far they got.
But I guarantee its less than westham and not as far as quarter finals, semi finals and a final.
Going beyond the 40 years, the one time England won the world cup the team included 3 westham players, one a captain and two who scored the 4 goals, ( 1 getting a hatrick, which has never been done before or since)
Basically westham won the world cup.
We played in the first ever Wembley fa cup final, we are the last team to win a European trophy with all England players.
The great Pele called Bobby Moore the best defender in the world...
Just a few reasons why westham ARE a BIG CLUB and known around the world.
