    Thank you so much. Picking up my hobby from 15 years ago with an affordable A7iii. Too bad Sony/Adobe doesn't support true tethering directly in Lightroom. But this tutorial showing how to use the Sony software as an in-between really helps.

    Hello,
    really 1000 thanks for this video! everything is very well explained and even a person like me, not good at software, can get there without any problem!!
    I just have a question. I'm going to use online shooting for photos of the children in a Christmas setting on a market. So that a 2nd person shows the photos to the parents to make their choices and can print them gradually while I continue to shoot the computer continues to receive the photos...
    The problem currently is that with each new photo that enters the software when I continue to shoot, the software shows the last photo imported... So if the client is about to choose between photo 1 and 2, with each new photo imported the selection returns at the end of the series...
    Do you know how to block this?
    THANKS !!!!!

    Thanks for the video, walked me through getting it setup. I had problems w/ the PC Remote only seeing "mass storgage". It was having a conflict w/ the "control w/ smartphone" in the network tab. In the network tab in the camera, I had to switch "control w/ smartphone" to off, then it opened up the options in the PC Remote.

    Very clear and thorough explanation. I am taking my second semester of photography classes and a couple them require that I shoot tethered with my Sony a7iii. None of my professors seemed especially knowledgable in how to shoot tethered with a Sony since you couldn't do it directly through Lightroom. Their answer when asked was always ask the other professor - lol. Anyway found your video and took all of about 15 minutes to figure it out and now getting my first shots tethered up on screen. I also shared the video with another classmate that uses a Sony a7iii. Thank you so much.

      Hi Anthony, thanks for your comment & for watching! My green light is actually a fixture from Ikea (fado) with an Aputure b7c bulb inside. I'm planning to make a video about these lights soon because they're so cool! Fado Light fixture: www.ikea.com/us/en/p/fado-table-lamp-with-led-bulb-white-60416280/ Aputure b7c: amzn.to/393Usic

    • @ClareJoAnna
      @ClareJoAnna  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've never tried it, but I doubt it. I would think that the macbook cables are designed for charging and not heavy data-transfer.

    Hi! Should I update my a7iii software to be able to use the USB Connection?

    • @ClareJoAnna

      Hi Tak. I'm not sure which software you're referring to exactly, but regardless your a7iii should be able to connect to the Sony Imaging Edge Software using the USB Connection mode.

    Super helpful thanks! I haven't used a specific tethering cable, instead just a long USB-C to USB-C. I've noticed the transfer time from the click to lightroom is a bit laggy, like about 10 seconds. Is this normal, or happening because of the cable I'm using? Thanks!

    • @ClareJoAnna
      @ClareJoAnna  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Jason, thanks for your comment! My transfer time is normally 3-4 seconds with my Tethering Tools cable, so it's possible that your cable could be causing more of a lag.

    So helpful. Everything went well up to capturing images using the remote on my Mac. I opened LR, followed along with the auto import but could not get the images displayed in LR. Still very helpful in getting the images in the Sony app. Thanks.

    I can totally understand why you are so happy that it connetced, as it actually is close to being a miracle. What a POSony. I use Capture1 as well, and it is easier, but you'd think LR a much larger company and Sony a huge company would have this resolved to be plug and play like Canon or Hasselblad, etc.

    • @ClareJoAnna
      @ClareJoAnna  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I wouldn't consider it a miracle, seeing that if you follow the steps correctly, it is more than possible to connect and get tethered. If you're that upset, then take it up with Sony and contact them directly with your thoughts.
