The whole Roblox thing terrifies me. I am a former special ed teacher and was Tutoring a young girl online from the time she was six until nine. We developed a very close relationship and she would tell me about going on Roblox. She was living with her single mom no one else in the home and she was not supervised a lot of the time I often talk to this little girl about the dangers of talking to anyone on Roblox because she didn’t know them and that they could be lying to her about who they are. I unfortunately have lost touch with her since the beginning of the year, I just pray that she listened to me and remembers my advice.
This is exactly why my daughter was never allowed on Roblox as a kid after some creep talked her into giving them her phone number and I found out she’d been texting them to an email address I couldn’t trace!! The fact that people like this exist and infiltrate our children’s games is nauseating.

when he said his babysitter did that stuff to him,my heart dropped. of course what hes doing is wrong no matter what happened to him,but its awful. ive been through a lot of stuff online and when i was a kid,stuff of that nature. my mind was in horrible places and i thought some very horrible things were normal. i was seeking attention because i was bullied and my parents were divorced and my mom was always working. i thought the only way i could get attention was through that stuff at times. but i escaped that mindset and i never looked at that type of stuff and i never hurt anyone. its sad to think he was once just a traumatized kid,now hes a monster. and honestly if anything its even worse that he's doing what hes doing when it happened to him,he knows the pain. i always think its important to have a talk to your kid about boundaries and how to be safe online and to check in on them. better safe than sorry
