The Bugout is 70$ cheaper and cuts just as well. In almost every test I’ve seen 20cv isn’t cutting any longer than s30v. It might have better stain resistance but for 70$ I ain’t gonna trip over the steel difference. The Bugout will outsell the Watu 10 to 1 all year long.
Bairy Halls I believe you are correct on the steel. However, the bugout does not have full metal liners. Where on the other hand the Watu does. I have to give the Watu the Upper hand on this. Plus, the laminate G10 carbon fiber is a huge positive over the FRN plastic grips that come on the bugout. To be honest, after ordering new titanium grips for my bugout. The Watu actually comes out cheaper.
Do y'all have the Spyderco Sliverax? I love the way it fits your hand. I highly recommend it! It's from the Taichung plant and has an S30V blade and a flipper tab, and the compression lock is on the back!
I'm guessing the detent is stiff enough that its resistance is easier to overcome going 90 degrees to the knife axis than 180 degrees (longitudinal). Whoo!!

This knife is inspired by an African knife. The holes are there because that’s what they do with there handles in Africa. So the can tie it to a stick and use it as a spear. I wouldn’t try that with this one though the blade stock is thin and a pretty fragile point
Without making a huge deal out of it, it would have been fair and expected, based on your high expertise, to mention the tang & blade filling the compression lock opening once closed.. Fair and real is the only way, guys : )

The big Taiwan on the blade immediately made me start to unlike it. I'm more interested in the Smock and even then, once I found out it was a Taiwan model as well I no longer am as interested in it. I'm sure the quality is good but if you're spending 180$ on a Spyderco, i expect it to be a made in USA model.
The Taiwan spyderco's are definitely on par with the USA stuff, if not little bit better in terms of the fit and finish. But eather way your still supporting a USA based company.
I had my doubts on the smock as well but I got one a month ago and it's become my favorite spydie. So much fun, great action and a really slicey hollow grind

The Taiwan knives are my favorite. Sage one, is my favorite out of them. Good looking smaller knife. Wire clip is the best!

Spyderco Chokwe is still one of my favorite knives. This seems like a re-imagining of it!

Spyderco has had less of a draw sense they keep jacking their prices up
