Wooooow it's been 11 years since the release of this banger. It got me when i was 15, just disconvering new ways of music then i got bit bored of usual heavy bands. I owe you my view of music and everything that ive achieved since then. Thank You Textures!
I did. Since I posted that comment, I have immersed myself into this bands music. I must say, it is very impressive. Thank You for taking the time to reply! I really appreciate it!
Dude, Daath is actually an all-around decent band. Thanks for that one, man! They're not progressive or technical in the ways I enjoy, but I was definitely banging my head to their songs HARD. I like the vocalists shifting vocal styles/tones, which usually draws me in.
I really love the album artwork and Textures's association with water metaphors and imagery. The new singer's voice is so beautiful too. Oh Textures, you've found your way back into my heart.
Jeeeeesus Christ man. Don't become vitriolic just for someone having a differing opinion than yours even if it is a negative one pertaining to possibly the best band in the world
I do understand why you' d say that, because the drums/guitars are are accenting 5's in the intro for example. In the groove from 0:28 you can still hear the drummer playing the bass drum every 5 16 notes, but when you count you keep hearing the snare on the 2 and 4.
I just came here from O Merch, checking out Mnemic and Karnivool shirts and crap, I seen this in the drop down box and clicked on it. The song started to play My left are felt like it got hit in the funny bone and my feet tingled.
LOVED the last album and the vocalist on it, he was amazing... This guy is great too, but he's got a slightly different style that will take me a bit to get used to. However, very much looking forward to seeing them with Periphery :D
@XQriousX I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure VoM wasn't intentionally naming themselves after Cynic's "Veil of Maya", they're in two different genres of the metal field..
I had never heard of these guys before. It seems like I missed out! love the guitar tone and drumming and all that, as well as the very unusual timings, but MAN! the singer's voice is, like, beautiful (no homo) :O
I totally agree. Even heavy-as-hell songs can have melodic parts (even if it's just some short synth-part like in Vildhjarta's "Dagger") to make them that much more heavy. Of course, sometimes a 140% in-your-face song is perfectly fine, but even those can have arcs of suspense and climaxes (think Divine Heresy's "Anarchaos"; that part in the middle is godly).
If you want more I'd DEFINITELY check out the Silhouettes album, it's personally my favorite from Textures. Even though their new stuff is wicked good too
@SlapPopStacy it is indeed, but the mix really sounds like it needs more tweaking. I mean, Jochem mixed all the others albums too, and he really proved to be a wordclass level sound engineer (even if selftaught, although I don't know if he is) with their previous album "Silhouettes" as result.
Looks like a section of the lyrics in the description is from another song and was put here accidentally. The section that starts with "Our identities are stories with holes in their language" never appears in this song.
I think they might have finally found themselves. Feels like Drawing Circles, which I love, had a hard time with the third album, Ubber fan of POLARS. This song really was good! I hope the rest is as good
Waiting here with nothing more to say Goodbye to all I have said The best fucking part, the clean vocals are mesmerizing and send shiver down my spine!
@MUSICxxLOVEful What do you think of the cleans in those bands? :D I just find it hard to believe that there's not a single metal band that have cleans that you wouldn't enjoy. Just thought I'd throw out some names to test the waters, so to speak :P
@shalhemforesh you can check out these two Greek bands Tardive Dyskinesia (old-Textures like, album mixed by Textures guitarist) and Custom Made Noise (with some mathcore elements here and there). AAL rule btw

Gonna see them on Friday 28 sept Patronaat Haarlem for second time. They are the rulers of Dutch metal along with Pestilence and Gorefest. Napalm Death shirt aan en gaan. See you on Friday.
Yah, Eric was an equal part of the band. His soul sent into it in such a way. He added his character. This is the first I'm hearing Daniel. I don't have anything bad to say at all. I just have to get used to the change. It's got another kind of feeling to it.
@csplendrig For me good music is all about contrast and variety. I enjoy hearing soulful melodies contrasting with abrasive verses, that great juxtaposition of order and chaos. When executed well it gives me a warm feeling inside, and Textures - as their name suggests - do it fantastically well.
Best band ever man.
What beauty.
Malhotra Shourya ... Feel you might like sybreed's slave design. Minsk is beautiful. This reminds

11 years and 11 mesi
Wow the vocals really have a lot of character !
Stef Broks.....so good
I am angry at myself for not hearing about this band sooner. This is some good stuff. I want more.
11 years in the future, you can also see them live again.
this is the best song on the album
Wrong. This is the song they promoted the most. Apparently their management agreed with you though :D
Your a fucking idiot. This is clearly not the best song. Consonant Hemispheres is the best song ever made. Pull your head out of your ass.
@@COWBAYOUBADASS internet..... hahahaha
Absolutely beautiful. This is what heavy metal (or just music in general... or even just life) is all about.
I did. Since I posted that comment, I have immersed myself into this bands music. I must say, it is very impressive. Thank You for taking the time to reply! I really appreciate it!

I didn't think I'd like Textures as much without Erik, but this is amazing! Can't wait to hear the rest of the new album. :D
Nothing beats Singularity! I just love that song!
Best song from the album!
I really love the album artwork and Textures's association with water metaphors and imagery. The new singer's voice is so beautiful too. Oh Textures, you've found your way back into my heart.
2:06 sheer goosebump-inducing genius. Oh how I love this band.
Daniel's cleans are sounding like it was Blaze Bayley, I love it 😀
loyal textures fan since Polars right here. I remember being at trees for their first US show.
my words are set on fire!!!!.....Oh!!
God I love this band... So many riffs.
Best metal drummer right there
there are much better ones than this guy
Maybe someday. Be patient, or become one. I'm not saying he's bad, I'm saying there are better than him.
Jeeeeesus Christ man. Don't become vitriolic just for someone having a differing opinion than yours even if it is a negative one pertaining to possibly the best band in the world
Definitely not.
The drummer is not very good.
Exactly. He is rather medicocre.
fuckin love this intro
5:41 I'm spitting lettuce
Thanks, now I'll never not hear that!
You bastard 😂, can never unhear it now
oh man, that last part
MY WORDS ARE SET ON.... FIRE (fiiiiiiiireeeee) gives me the chills!
My best pit ever ! Their show in Motocultor, in France, was just amazing !
Talented guys! looking forward for the album
Textures, you have yourself a fan.

anybody still here in 2022? dude i miss this band!
I'm speechless!
Textures: Odd-time signature teacher and a great metal band.
the ending is just sooo good! love it!
@TrainsforGTA I can say oomph! to Daniel's vocals too. Awesome! :)
Win. Win. Win. I can forgive the clean vocals because of the win.
They are really at what they do. If you not already know the band called TesseracT then try listen to them to:)
My words are set on fire.
Welcome back, buddies! 🤘
Pretty cool, will check out more of there music, never heard of these guys :P
I love reading people's comments on good music. There is never any bickering, just chill ass people lol

@DiggeLibbe wow yes. the drums are amazing in this.
Dude you're SOOOOOO CREATIVE!.
@XQriousX I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure VoM wasn't intentionally naming themselves after Cynic's "Veil of Maya", they're in two different genres of the metal field..

Born of Osiris will make you forget this band.

Sounds like the vocalist of Symphony X joined Textures xD
Great song and record!
geweldig deze band
God, i cannot wait for their new album
@SlapPopStacy it is indeed, but the mix really sounds like it needs more tweaking.
I mean, Jochem mixed all the others albums too, and he really proved to be a wordclass level sound engineer (even if selftaught, although I don't know if he is) with their previous album "Silhouettes" as result.
@Opranius :$ how do you hear any similarities between Russel and Daniel?
Looks like a section of the lyrics in the description is from another song and was put here accidentally. The section that starts with "Our identities are stories
with holes in their language" never appears in this song.
sounds awesomE!!
Yeah totally man, no problem, Daath is pretty badass.
Sounds like Meshuggah and Mastodon, really cool stuff

The first track of the album is fucking awesome with a epic name aswell "arms of the sea" fucking brutal song
@MetalliTooL Actually you can hear that specific section of the lyrcis being performed in the background ;)
I think they might have finally found themselves. Feels like Drawing Circles, which I love, had a hard time with the third album, Ubber fan of POLARS. This song really was good! I hope the rest is as good
This song is the bomb.
Waiting here with nothing more to say
Goodbye to all I have said
The best fucking part, the clean vocals are mesmerizing and send shiver down my spine!

They're like the metal version of Gruvis Malt. Soooo tight.
Amazing Song
Gonna see them on Friday 28 sept Patronaat Haarlem for second time.

The best Holland can offer right now!

And they are dutch! nice one
@MUSICxxLOVEful Ever hear of Porcupine Tree or Cynic or Between The Buried And Me?
What time signature is that at the beginning? (drums)
how the fuck is it i can listen to this once and its ok but the second time its fucking amazing?!?!
I never said they were screamo, I was stating perfect examples of band that singing does work well in metal.
