Hi, we had been living here in Goa for 32 years. We never had any problems with the locals. What you have said is absolutely right. Respect them n you get respect in return.

Since I have been to Goa several times in the last 30 years I feel qualified to make some comments. Regarding rent you have several options like societies, apartments, living in slightly distant villages at varying costs and comforts. I can even suggest a very simple alternative of staying in border towns of Karnataka or Maharashtra
and making up and down trips to Goa whenever you feel like it !
As far as having a facility like renting a car is concerned and if your stay is anywhere between 1 year and more is concerned you can think of bringing your own car from your original place or buying a second hand good condition car of your choice.
Food of course is a different ball game depending on how many times you eat outside per month and whether you are a vegetarian or not. You can get south indian or goan food in many places in different parts of Goa quite easily. Nothing to worry about in this regard. As far as groceries ( for cooking at home) and milk and bread are concerned the costs are similar to any other big city in India.

Fantastic video, mate! But just one request from someone who supports the medical community the world over - please do wear your mask when you are outside, and do not forget the kids as well. They learn young. People are trying hard to avoid the third wave due in August and we must not be careless. Goa has indeed paid a heavy price recently.

In my perspective short term living in Goa can be managed anywhere between 30,000 to 1,00,000 pm depending upon your choice of standard of living.

Sir,this is in continuation of my earlier comments regarding goencars and outsiders.
You have stated amply clearly that even fruits and veggies have to be brought in from neighbouring states. Leave aside foodgrains.
That coupled with the inherent reluctance of the locals to engage in enterprise or physical labour, just about sums up their current plight.
Your monthly rent is around 31000 rupees. It's around the same in middle class areas in Mumbai suburbs. That makes it steep.
Had it not been for the surge in construction, most probably this facility and profits would not have materialised.
The moral of this narration is,that there is no need to grouse over everything. There are definitely some positive fallouts to every situation.
It's true that the lower strata of society has to suffer because of this. But do they not suffer so throughout the country??
I think the major influencing factor is that goans consider themselves to be a class apart,on account of the prolonged Portuguese influence. May be so. But now it's time that they reconcile with reality and proceed to build a future for themselves by engaging in enterprise, business, agriculture, horticulture, light industry, rather than opt for Portuguese passports and depart for low grade jobs in the European Union.
My roots are in Goa. So I'm duly worried about this current disruptive trend. I would certainly expect people to understand this side of the coin too and not come up with abusive comments without deliberation.

Don't blame the Goemkar for who doesn't want to live in a clean and organized life style where garbage is collected regularly, the streets are clearly well marked and pothole less, jobs of whatever nature are available and overall life is worth living with a holiday thrown in and above all an acceptable level of health services available. The Goeankar was forcibly made to live in the present system where in he does not see why he should live in degraded conditions. Sorrowing lies my land!

Not just Delhi.....say whole of India..... Had it been a separate country then it would have prospered much more like that of Mauritius or Reunion.
