Stew in the slow cooker as we speak! I boil too many spuds for the "first" stew ie tonight. I use what I need and put the rest in the pot for tomorrow - lovely cos the soft spuds soak up the juices! Any stew and spuds left over is frozen - not even I can stand a stew 3 days on the trot LOL
That was us yesterday muggy but today cooler 16c and a wee bit of a drizzle 🌧️. Delicious looking dishes Gremlins 👍👍. I actually love potato reveals it’s always a surprise. I’m surprised that there’s ants as the buckets looked quite wet. Great harvests and ❤ potato love 🤭🤭. Have a wonderful day, Ali 🌧️🌞🇨🇦
Yep, a bit wet in the buckets but the ants were prepared. I saw some wearing scuba gear 😂😂 The Gremilns love cooking (and gardening!) - so glad about that as it makes my job a lot easier! Off to a big retail show tomorrow so a bit of a wind down day for me. Have a great week Ali!
Hi Steve Loved the pictures of the kids doing there cooking. It does seem that this year people growing the Kondor have had mixed results. My early potatoes have been absolute rubbish ths year just hope my main crop are better. And yes I agree with you about potato reveals this year, not many at all. Looking forward to find out what potato was used in the ssp this year. Take care. 👍👍👍👍👍
Crap year all round Rob, probably my worst ever for everything - especially tomatoes on the plot (video soon once I stop crying LOL - and no, not blight!)
Hiya mate, those spuds at home look amazing much better than the buckets, i hope mine are ok they are currently sitting in the Greenhouse out of the rain. Have a good week mate and well done to those Young Diggy Chefs. TC Barry (Wirral)
Kondor's have been disappointing, this seasons SSPC look great Steve. I have a performer to reveal to see if I get a big one. Happy gardening, Terry King.
Great to see the children cooking as well as growing their food Steve 😁🤘 Tony O'Neill has had a poor spud harvest this year, mine has been mediocre but my nightshades, cucs, courgettes and squashes have all of a sudden taken off this past fortnight with not too much mildew as I keep removing the affected leaves. Roll on next season, I'm hoping to grow some pak choi and lettuce etc., also first time growing sweet potatoes 🤞🏻🤞🏻😁🌱☀️
Hey Steve. New friend here. These potatoes are different than what I am used to. I wonder if we have them here in NC. Great video. See you in the next one. ❤❤❤
Welcome onboard! Sadly, I cannot tell you the variety yet as they are part of a grow off competion to see who can get the highest yield from one potato. th-cam.com/play/PLpg1LhQB0LMDax4aBDnjuTbNt5HQZal8E.html
Gosh, those grandchildren are keen and well done to them. If you get an insect bite, or a bee sting put a dab of Janola on it. Do they sell Janola in England.? It neutralizes the sting. From NZ.
I’ve been growing Kondors now for 3 years in the hope of a record. Only record I broke was my PB. A potato weighing in at 1lb 2oz. Mr Glazebrook has no fear of me beating him.
Hi Steve. I find potato reveals get more views than any other thing. Either that, or tomatoes. Perhaps people think it bores their viewers. Who knows? Good return from 1 potato and 2 eyes. Lovely spuds from home there. Elaine 🌱
Hey Steve, the Kondors dont seem to be doing too well this season, i have seen Duncans reveal and also Terrys. Those sspc2024 spuds look nice, i am dying to find out the variety.
Hi Steve great to see the children in the kitchen I hope you enjoyed your potatoes 🥔👍🥔🌱
Just about to try them mate. I'll let you know!
I love potato reveals. Please do more!
I will next year, thanks 😊
Hi Steve, at least you got a fair amount of Condor potatoes for stock. Thanks for sharing and take care 😊
You got that right! Still hoping to get one to beat my personal best of 1.7kg LOL
I need that to shirt 😂
Great work from the kiddos 👏
Great potato haul too 👌
The SSPC potatos were beautiful so will go Great in your stew

Definitely cider weather😁.
Oh yes! Looking forward to Malvern in 3 weeks to pick up a few ones that are new to me!
I wish I had Gremlins to do my garden and cook my meals😄.
They are great - just wish I got to share the food LOL
I fancy giving tromboncino a go next year. The gremlins cooking looks lovely. Love those sspc spuds. 😊
They are a great veg Mags! Eat now like a summer squash or store to use as a winter squash later, brilliant!
The Gremlins did well. SSPC - can't wait to find out the variety as these sure do look good growers.
Patience Mike LOL Everyone will know in the first week of November.
Have a great week buddy.
Lovely amount of spuds!
Good tasting too, the SSPC ones!
Hi Steve some nice sspc potatoes there good luck.👍👌🥔😁
Thanks Nick👍 What a great spud!!

Those sspc potatoes were large beauties for sure Steve. Nice!
They are a great taster too, Greta. Can't wait to tell the world which variety they are in 7 weeks or so!
Have a great week over there.

I had my first taste of them last night - very good! I'll let you know the variety in November when the #SSPC2024 finishes.

Fingers crossed Terry. There were some big Performers in 2023, no wonder the chip shops like it!

Ooo you remind me - need to check on my sweet potato, last I looked it was under a rampant squash plant LOL
Nice one Steve , my sspc2024 is still growing, well the green bit is lol
Fingers crossed for you Lee!
Hi Steve I think the potatoe you chose this is going break all records from what we seen
I agree guys! Can't say much but some good weights so far!

They love it! Janola not sold here but we must have something similar. Which of their products do you mean?
@@DigwellGreenfingers it's a laundry bleach, it neutralizes the sting.
@@rhondafarmer4824 Cool! I have some so I'll give it a go next time. Have a great week down there!

I wonder if genetics are taking over with mine and it is a case of plant small get small?
@@DigwellGreenfingers I was wondering something similar. So on that note I’ll save the 1lb er

It's all about the suspense, Elaine. They can all see how many peas or beans you are about to pick, but spuds and carrots are a mystery LOL
@@DigwellGreenfingers I totally agree 👍

I wonder if it is because all 3 of us have been using our own saved Kondor seed spuds for some years, and their bigness is getting bred out of them?
@@DigwellGreenfingers thats a very good possibility mate
My earlies did OK but nothing special and have yet to tip my main crop tatties and after the blight I'm dreading tipping them.
I know I keep saying it, but use amzn.to/4cSESUU
It works!
Nice harvest Steve the kondor don't seem to be doing any good, grandkidos did a fantastic job
I wonder if the "hello I am a big spud" is being bred out of them?
