Since I consider myself a Barry Manilow fan since my childhood in the early 90's, it is clear to me now that his genius goes back to the early 70's. Quite frankly his creative mind has given us the best combination of classic singing with a new rthymic twist making his styule unique and not to be repeated ever. These two songs are clear examples of his music genius and romantic aura is hypnotic.
He said in an interview that Copacabana was written to fill up space on one of his albums.Even though he said they had a great time recording it,he said he never expected it to go anywhere.He was so surprised when it did and it became his signature song.I don't know why he was surprised,his voice and musical talent together are truly magic.That's why he remains to this day to be one of the biggest stars of the music industry.His concerts are alway's sold out now just like they were in the 70's.
i remember dancing with my grand mother to barry. she would just get all worked up snapping her fingers and dancing in her big recliner. he was just a part of my growing up.

20歳の時に一度だけ日本でディナーショーがあり、母と弟が行ってきました！
私は次回と楽しみにしていたら、それ以来ディナーショーはなくて、、、
コンサートも行けずじまい。。。
人生の一番の心残りです(笑)
82歳の母は今でもマニロウのショーが忘れられないと話しています。
いつか必ず会いに行きたい！生でショーを観たいといつも願っています。
