As always, you can count on Jeff to have a clear-headed and sensible evaluation of the relative power levels of cards. Love this type of content for my favourite digital card game!
I quit the game during Loki season. I just came back at the end of Agent Venom season - the ONLY reason I can stand a chance against all the cards I’m missing, is because I spent my only 6k tokens on arishem. Game is more fun for me now than back when I was playing for ranks
Wow, I have taken about a year off and thought about getting back into the game with the holidays and more free time. Damn, there are a lot of S5 cards now. It is wild to compare this to your video of this last year. I hope the series drops come through, seems a bit overwhelming to come back. Hope the last few month have been good to you Jeff, I always have apricated your content! Have a good eating holiday :)
I love this. Context matters!!! Other TH-camrs will dither on whether a card is a 3 or 4 star card to them, with no real context to why or what makes it one or the other. I love how you have a categorical explanation and then a quick efficient blurb on each card, rationalizing why it’s in that category. It’s more important than ever to have guides like THIS that help the player understand the WHY a card is good and or the HOW it is used. As a dolphin im skipping speed for months now, because i can run something 90% as good but instead can push my resources towards “true unlocks” like Wiccan and agent venom.
Every few days I keep thinking of reinstalling Marvel Snap as I'm in love with the game but the economy around needing sooooo many Series 4/5 cards is too intimidating that I'd rather not bother. :(
If Second Dinner doesn’t want to move cards down in Series, they need to increase the amount of Tokens you can win from caches, by A LOT. Getting 100 Tokens feels so cheap. And throw in the garbage 1 Golden ticket… well it makes me want to send hate mail to SD
I highly rate Caiera for newer players because she will protect the lower series cards that you have and supports the archetypes that you can play with smaller collections. Once your collection is bigger and you open more archetypes her value diminishes but IMO she will improve your game experience in the early to mid stages of your Snap journey.
@@HooglandiaSnap Yeah, i figured it was something like that. I still enjoyed the video and always enjoy your content and just straight up honesty lol. Much needed in a world of clickbait and overhype
Thanks for the content Jeff! Some feedback on the format: I would appreciate a graphic at the end (maybe a tier list like the thumbnail) with all the cards to help visualize and compare. Not the biggest deal of course (and possibly unviable with enough cards) but something to consider.
Would it be better to wait for Kate bishop when she comes to spotlights (scheduled for Jan 7). I want all the cards coming that week but it might change later down the line
Spotlights have been pretty consistent with their datamined setup lately, so I'd save keys for her then. Worst case scenario is they move her out of it and you spend tokens anyway
This video is not telling you what resources to spend to be optimal - it is just rating the higher series cards. I'll do my typical review of upcoming caches here shortly once we get December caches confirmed soon.
So nice for this to come out mere minutes after I spent my tokens. All jokes aside great video as always! As a returning player these are helpful for me as I used to be Infinte and need to renew my knowledge. I recently got Scorn she is pretty strong.
This video came right on time! I was torn between two cards to spend my 6k tokens on and seeing one of them is archetype defining and the other is strong but replaceable cleared up my head on that choice!
None unless you have everything else. If you’re going based on what’s optimal that is. But if I had to pick one would be gorr. He is a defining card in the decks he is in and can’t easily be replaced. As for sable che can be subbed by any other 1 drop such as iceman
I wouldn't describe blink as mediocre, as far as my experience with the game goes it's a very powerful card. Also I don't feel like symbiote, nimrod and phastos are that bad. They work fairly well with their respective archetypes
I will say this for anyone in doubt, if you could only ever buy one card with tokens, buy Arishem. Yeah, it's RNG dependent to win, but the extra energy is usually enough to give you room to play with what you get, and no two matches will ever feel the same. Plus, slotting in tech cards will be enough to stop varied strategies most of the time, even Cassandra Nova will become useless if played against you when you drop that Shang-chi.
I can’t ever recommend people buy Arishem cuz Arishem is just the most miserable experience in the game to be on the receiving end of, win or lose. The card needs a full scale rework, not a recommendation to purchase.
All cards released in 2023 with the exception of the tech cards and big bads (Nico Minoru, Mobius M. Mobius, High Evolutionary, and _sigh_ Kang) should just move down a tier. 5 --> 4 (12 cards) Blob, Sebastian Shaw, Anninilus, Ms. Marvel, Werewolf by Night, Black Knight, Elsa Bloodstone, Alioth, Loki, X-23, Iron Lad, Jeff! 4 --> 3 (19 cards) Selene, Havok, Gladiator, Man-Thing, Ravonna Renslayer, Lady Deathstrike, Daken, Legion, Jean Grey, Phoenix Force, Spider-Ham, Silk, Ghost Spider, Living Tribunal, Nebula, Hit-Monkey, Kitty Pryde, Nimrod, M.O.D.O.K.
1:02 honestly, i dont get the arishem bashing at all the card allows newer/intermediate players to play with any card they could not obtain in months or even years of grinding otherwise
3 reasons as someone that has climbed to infinite with arishem And lost tons of bubs to him is that 1) he throws the normal rules of the game out. Example if I am playing a destroy deck I can track how big the knull is and try to play around that. With arishem that doesn’t remotely exist because you don’t know what the output range is going to be 2)priority which is also a core part of the game is also meaningless because of part 1. All meta arishem decks always run a number of tech cards ranging from alioth to shang to rogue/enchantress. This means if your losing priority you get screwed by alioth and if u are winning priority and say your a darkhawk deck then your also losing to the other tech cards mentioned 3) the extra energy can also be a large factor. As being able to play cards like alioth 1 turn earlier or being able to play shang chi with a rogue on turn can easily win you games you shouldn’t be winning and invalidate your opponents play
@@adelfeuscole2641 Correct about Surfer, but surfer just isn’t that good so I forgot about it. Sera doesn’t usually run Killmonger. And it’s also not a common deck.

Should i pick up knull or wait till ravona shows up? I recently pick up gorr and ravona is pretty good to ramp up in negative, i like knull too
Thanks jazzy Jeff! Always helps to have these videos!

What decks is Havok usable in? He's available to get for me in the spotlight cache (already got legion + gorr) but i dont know if hes worth getting
Havok is typically in negative decks last I remember but that’s abt it. He’s not worth it, hasn’t seen play practically since release

How do you know what series a card is?
It's listed in client on them and community sites track them.
