Evo was 2-4 second a lap quicker than the rest of the field. Pretty impressive as the TT RS is a quick car.

I love Evos
The Evo Ralliart is only there for a control subject as it starts with a delay against the other cars. It's not there to compete against them. They do it all the time.
Tsuchiya in a Fiat 500 and Orido in a GTR. Tsuchiya wins automatically
@Shadowboost it had the most horsepower and mods, it is tuned to be a track car thats why it is at the wayy back and the other only has street mods...peace bro

the evo was too fast so it has to be placed far away from the grid...
@MrMaseratiboy the reason why evo was back was because of the tires,had semi-slicks while the other cars had radial!
people need to calm down, the sti in this race are not American spec cars ...they are way faster, how many stock sti have you seen that Rev to 8k? lol
They aren't "way faster", they have an ej207 engine in them, which makes 280hp. In america, we get the ej257, which has 305hp, so one may argue that the STi's in this video are at a disadvantage to the USDM STi.
They don't have 280hp anymore, the spec c has 305hp with the 2.0 and the R205 has 315hp.
Plus they use different turbo than the usdm ones. Jdms have torque under 4000rpm while jdms ones dont
@MrMaseratiboy which was Mitsubishi's tuning arm. Sti stands for Subaru technica international, that's Subaru's tuning arm... BMW M division is their tuning arm. etc etc, we're still talking apples and apples here. One apple is just way better than the other apple
@CHRISGT34 Its because its a 5 cylinder. 5 cylinder and 10 cylinder have very distinct sounds
@jezwah and to go back in time, Isn't that what made the S13/180sx / S14 etc great. You could pay far less than a 32 or 33 GTR, and with basic upgrades to intake/exhaust/suspension (which still keeps the car cheaper than a GTR) start cracking good laptimes - 1/4 mile - drift - grip whatever.
wow...considering the hype about STi's and Evos I'd say the TT whipped their ass in that race.

@malelee21 Time attack is the first time they run to determine grid position. And best lap...is the best lap they ran during the race.
@jezwah except for Nissan GTR.. well there has been a pattern with nissan, they have been making moderate saloon cars, moderate sports car, but they put everything they have for the top-of-line GTR family.. seems like they focus only on GTR.. what do u think?
That TT-RS kinda looked like an S15 inside.
In the specs given by honda, vtec also reach the max power at 7000rpm, and every good pilot, take the car until 8500rpm. Because in 8000rpm, you still have more power, than in the next gear only at 5000!
@keykikoo looks like GSR, it has navigation system. RS is lightweight with no options.
@Shadowboost it is an extra, most evo doesn't come with the ralliart track mods, this is the reason why its all the way at the back, why else would they put it at the back if it isn't a track car
I wonder if that 370z has better brake cooling. In the US on Car and Driver when they were doing their Lightning Lap, the 370z brakes overheated cause the 370z didn't have sufficient air going to the brakes to cool them. The result of Car and Driver was complete brake failure at like 130mph and they crashed the car.

Naturally, engine mods are part of the package, and with a retuned ECU, new exhaust and turbo, the R205 cranks out 316 horsepower and 319 pound-feet of torque.
so maybe max power is at higher rpm ?
@pcbb01 nope... fastest time attack starts at the very back... That mitsu ralliart hardcore machine is the lightest on the grid and with that suspenion and tires goes like on the rails. With such cornering speed difference the others would be no match if allowed starting from close distance...
evo got the fastest lap time, so proud :-)

The blue Spec C has its center differential on full lock? why not on auto? understeer much?
The Evo was also professionally tuned, the others were all stock settings.

@jezwah Seems like Nissan engineers leave the fans some space to "reengineer" and play with the toys :) They offer affordable yet playful lines, and premium, more expensive for extra bucks with GTR's.. Market wise, anyone can enjoy Nissan's
@MrMaseratiboy Subaru Spec C and TTRS both have the same amount of factory mods as the Evo. The Spec C has a lightened body, more power/torque, completely different suspension (dampers and springs, anti roll bars, bushings), new wheels, and different LSD. Their mods just aren't as effective. The evo should have started with them at the back and just destroy everything. Unfair? Not really, that evo costs as much as the Spec C and has same level of mods.
@zuten88 I think the Nissan of today have such an extreme aftermarket fan base, that this is the way they, and we prefer it. Would a 370z be as much fun if it cost just as much as a 35GTR and had all the fruit ? who wants some $15,000 brake pads ? Or would it be more fun to pay what a 370z costs now, and do what you want ? In the old Nissan days you could buy an RS260 Stagea which had all the joy of GTR, but in a wagon. Thats why i love my series 2 rsfour-s stagea . Its already halfway there :D

@robbyjai the point is that they had no idea how far to place the evo back. I've never seen them place a car that far back. Who gives a fuck if the Evo didn't win. We all know it was easily the fastest. It also happened to be at the same tune level as the Spec C. Yet it was over a second faster per lap. It also happens to be the same price level as the Audi, yet has an even greater gap in lap time. THAT is my point

Fierag no. On the practice laps, they set a time and that is how far behind they are from the person in front. If it's not a lot then it's based on the grid but if they are a lot faster, they are set much further back so each car gets equal chance.
@MrMaseratiboy so what? A Ferrari FXX comes like that from the factory. Should it be given greater consideration over an Evo tuned by a directly related subsidiary of Mitsubishi? :P It's like the Mugen Civic RR, everyone would compare that to a Spec C in terms of mods done and tuning level, just isn't as fast. Now you're just splitting hairs.

I wish they'd stop using stock-cars to represent Germany... xD our cars have longer transmission layouts due to high travel speeds and emission laws and they're also set to understeer for safety reasons. Well, you could bring a GT2 RS... that one has a proper factory setting. :P

the audi wins because it has the moust hp and tq and compared to the 205 R its lighter .. but the scooby almoust had his ass... 20 more hp and that 5cyl tt was history ... from my point of view the r205 and the evo are the winners !

The funny thing is it is tuned in a similar respect to the Spec C, but it rapes it
R205 is better under braking and has better exit acceleration. Just hasn't got the legs on the straights to overtake.

Very misleading. The TT costs at least half again and has more power and is a 2 seated sports car. Another lap and the Ralliart Evo had that.

Honda is an atmosferic engine and the dynograph shows You that the line of powerband is very plain and long. Subaru has a turbocharger so the power comes at very limited range of rpm's. Read EJ20 specification and You will see what I mean. I own STI, my cus also, my friend has a new one and his bro got new one tuned to over 400hp. Still we all (3 gen.of Imprezas) know that the best moment to gear change is at (about) 6500, even the Tuner said that.

@alfamonk I suggest you look at 8:55 over and over until you realise that what you have said is not true. Every car except the nissan could do a faster laptime than the Audi.
@robbyjai fucking bullshit, it's essentially the same level of tune as a Spec C. That Evo has VERY minor modifications. Basically, suspension, ecu tune, and intake. A F1 car starting three laps behind wouldn't have caught these cars, are you saying that an F1 car is slow and brag about how it lost? Look at the lap times. They arbitrarily put a start point with no idea if the lead was way too big or too little. In this case it was too big. That evo would need over 400 hp to "win"

WOW ... no stock car will ever be able beat a group B race car. Audis became total boring, badly balanced and in stock form they are good in one thing. UNDERSTEEEEER. Audis build quality is fantastic but they are not realy sporty even if it is a TT RS. When you do one lap on the Nordschleife your brakes are gone. Realy nice for a performance car. NOT

damn it, Evo owned both best lap and time attack and yet everyone praises Audi, a shame. In real racing(not these outsider favouring) Evo would be keeping n1 position from start to end, here you have reverse schedule(fastest in drag race = worse pole-position, meaning that EVO was on the bottom of the grid cause of the best drag result, while Audi was on top with worse). And surely there is driver factor, but others are not so bad drivers either.
And I think we can all come away from this learning something - four wheel drive 'sports' cars suck
