- #Africa lags behind other regions in road infrastructure development. Financing challenges coupled with other hiccups meant the continent couldn't only focus on its transport infrastructure. But this has changed over the past couple of years as Africa turned to #China for financial, technological and skills assistance. The now budding China-Africa alliance has put the continent on a clear path to transport infrastructural development.

Africa is so happy to have China to help Africa develop infrastructures and invest in Africa. China helped Africa in the 50s & 60s when China was poorer than Africa.
China and Africa are very similar society. Unique indigenous Culture, never tried to take over other countries, defended themselves from invaders..

China start to help African even during Chairman Mao and premiered Zhao En Lai time even during at the time China have little on hand n yet they still extended to African. Nothing they ask in return n this really true friends.
the word 'help' of course, China thought that, but it's a win win investment, finally need Africa people really need infrastructures by the need, it's a market action, China did the difference from West is never forcing Africa to obey some rules even from which are not African people's wish. China respects African people in fair way without any bias

It’s so simple in its genius that I’m surprised no other country does it. You want to sell something to the people, but they have no money. So you invest in the area to give them jobs, so now they have money, which they will now spend on your products. It’s a simple cycle that is working well.

China comes from really hard time and poverty, China knows how important for infrastructures in a country, it's a fundamental of happiness life, so China is really sincerely to help Africa building infrastructures , of course it's a win win investment which depicted as debt trap by West media

Why can Africans not get up and build their own infrastructure? Why the constant need to be "helped"?
WHY ??? It is because the European came and stole and exploited their natural resources ..enslaved the African people ...colonized the country and make them poor and illiterate... Now with China's assistance Africa can once again look up to a better future and can stand on their own again fre from European parasites...
That's why China hired African workers so they can learned from them and it comes down to education on how many Africans interested in Engineering.

Cos the western countries stole all the people as slaves, and left zero education
1. China has more experience and more advanced technology which leads to higher construction quality.
2. China offers financing approaches.
3. Local employees play a major role in all these projects and are learning very fast. So, you may say Africans have already been building their own infrastructure.
I do hope that one day the African people can achieve prosperity all by themselves. But for now, a better solution is to work with China. So that this day can come earlier and faster.

How is it "helping" when we're paying for it?
lady, nothing is free. Helping means offering soft/low interest loans. You can get loans from US/EU with high interest and shorter term. If you want it free, you better walk.

The plumber doesn't help me fix my water taps. He fixes my water taps and yes, gets paid. A friend who is a plumber might help me fix my water taps and in that case, I don't pay.
@@njambizzy - You can get loans from IMF or western countries. You get higher interest rate and shorter term, that's the fact. Simple, money is money. I don't think Chinese force any countries to get loan from China only. If you have the money, they can build anything you want. It's the choice that Africa countries made.

Now that most goods sold in the US are made in China, is China therefore helping the US? Or is this "benevolence" only seen when it comes to Africa?
actually those resident building in Africa are better than our own here in 15 years ago.
Chinese only lived better than that for less than 15 years.
so if Africa can cheer up and work hard, you can also achieve what China has today in 15 years time. I mean you will have skyscrapers with elevators, beautiful parks, high speed trains and Metro systems that are a century better than the Americans have. but you must keep a stable political situation, don't get into war, work hard and stop complaining.
