  • If you have taken a close look at your detailed payslip, you might have seen certain deductions in it. You don’t get your full basic pay every month. Rather, a certain sum of money is lost from that, and this might be due to EPF deduction or TDS deductions.
    Another important deduction that occurs on your basic salary is the one for Professional tax. While you are losing out on some money due to this, how many of you are aware of what it is?
    Do you know what Professional tax is and why you have to pay it?
    If not, then watch this Tamil video‪@SMEDUTALK‬ to have a look at how and why is professional tax deducted from your salary. Also, know the facts about professional tax.

    • @SMEDUTALK
      @SMEDUTALK  18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      While filing ITR in old regime, a deduction from salary can be claimed under Section 16(iii) by the taxpayer on account of professional tax paid.
      IT act, allows many deductions (Professional tax, insurance premium, school fee etc.) at the time of ITR filing. After deducting all the deductions from your annual income, you have to pay the income tax for the remaining amount based on your IT slab. If you paid the amount (TDS) more than the actual tax, you'll get a refund. You don't get a refund for every deduction like professional tax.
      So, show the PT in the ITR filing to get benefitted, if PT is mentioned in your Form-16.

      The owner of a business is responsible to deduct professional tax from the salaries of his employees. He can then pay the amount so collected to the appropriate government department. So, approach your local body(village panchayat, town panchayat, corporation etc.) and ask the procedure.
      In the case of Greater Chennai Corporation, payment of profession tax can be done online by visiting it's website.

    • @SMEDUTALK
      @SMEDUTALK  ปีที่แล้ว

      You have to ask your school - why Rs.4755? There may be two chances.
      1. Your school deducts and keeps the money with it.
      To clarify this, ask for the receipt for the professional tax which is given by the local body like village panchayat or town panchayat. If the receipt is available means, they regularly pay the money to the Govt.
      2. Your school may keep two salary register systems. One register is for actual salary what is payable to you. Another register is for Fake salary what is shown to others like Govt. Always Fake salary is greater than the actual salary. If this system is followed in your company, your professional tax is decided by the fake salary.
      You have to approach the local body (where your money goes) like village panchayat or town panchayat to complain against your company.

      வருமான வரிச் சட்டம், வருமான வரி தாக்கல் செய்யும் போது பல deductionsகளை (Professional tax, insurance premium, school fee etc.) அனுமதிக்கிறது. பழைய முறையில் (old regime) வருமான வரி தாக்கல் செய்யும் போது, வருமான வரி செலுத்துபவர் professional tax செலுத்தியதற்காக 16(iii) பிரிவின் கீழ் சம்பளத்தில் இருந்து deduction பெறலாம். Professional tax போன்ற ஒவ்வொரு deductionக்கும் தனித்தனியாக உங்களுக்கு refund கிடைக்காது. உங்கள் வருட வருமானத்திலிருந்து அனைத்து deductionsகளையும் கழித்த பிறகு, உங்கள் IT slab அடிப்படையில் மீதமுள்ள தொகைக்கு வருமான வரி செலுத்த வேண்டும். நீங்கள் செலுத்திய தொகை (TDS) உண்மையான வரியை விட அதிகமாக இருந்தால், அந்த அதிகமான தொகை உங்களுக்கு திருப்பிச் செலுத்தப்படும். எனவே, உங்கள் படிவம்-16 இல் professional taxஐ குறிப்பிட்டு , அதை வருமான வரி தாக்கல் செய்யும் போது காட்டி பயன்பெறுங்கள்.

      While filing ITR, a deduction from salary can be claimed under Section 16(iii) by the taxpayer on account of professional tax paid.

      You have to ask your company - why Rs.1500 is deducted every 6 months? There may be two chances.
      1. Your company deducts and keeps the money with it.
      To clarify this, ask for the receipt for the professional tax which is given by the local body like village panchayat or town panchayat. If the receipt is available means, they regularly pay the money to the Govt.
      2. Your company may keep two salary register systems. One register is for actual salary what is payable to you. Another register is for Fake salary what is shown to others like Govt. Always Fake salary is greater than the actual salary. If this system is followed in your company, your professional tax is decided by the fake salary.
