I'm in the wedding dress subreddit because I'm planning my own for next year, and like 90% of all dress regret posts can be summarized with "I showed someone my dress, they had a negative reaction, now I hate my dress". It's so easy to get influenced, especially when you already have anxiety about the wedding planning process. Just keep it close to your chest and enjoy feeling like a princess!

i said this a while ago in the vod, but it's giving something you'd find in the shadowhunters universe!! i could totally see this being a hangout spot for vampires and warlocks in the outskirts of New York in TMI or in TDA as spot near the ghostmarket in LA where vampires go hang out after the markets close. my little 14 year old self was so excited watching you build this the first time around!!

At the risk of sounding super weird i built a cafe/plasma donation community lot. I called it Sucks and Snacks (my mom helped me name it bc she is amazing lol) when u come in there is a bunch of cute couches with blankets and pillows, a bookcase with a blanket and pillow basket on the bottom shelf a bathroom off to the right and on the left is a door to donate plasma. Anyone who donates plasma for the local vampire community gets a discount on all drinks and treats they buy. This idea was inspired by a challenge that wanted ppl to build a community lot we dont have and I'd like to have a plasma donation center or something similar so vampires can have a place that specifically offers plasma. Another idea i had which isn't really a new lot idea but I'd like is a specific place thats kind of like a vampire lair like what spellcasters have. A location where vampires gather to learn about their history, how to survive, and duel which I'm still brainstorming ideas for
I'm so glad your dress pickup went better than mine did XD (I got married in 2022) So I got the call that my dress arrived and I went to pick it up. They opened the garment bag and I paused and asked if they grabbed the right dress because it didn't look right. They assured me that they did. I put it on and realized why it looked off. It was the wrong color. It was the ivory on nude color, I had ordered full Ivory. It was also two sizes up from what I ordered. So yeah, it had to be reordered. because of that my dress didn't get into alterations until the month before the wedding. Luckily my seamstress was my aunt who's retired and didn't have any other projects to work on, so it was still done in time for my wedding.
Werewolf coffee shop makes so much sense because they'd be tired from a full night transformed. And alien restaurant reminds me of the Restaurant at the End of the Universe (Douglas Adams vibes).
It depends on what kinds of jobs you'd find fun or interesting, and whether you want to go to work with your sim or have them go to work. There are some pretty good reviews out there for the career options from different packs ☺
Get to Work has the Scientist career which is one of the most exciting of the active careers and you can basically be a mad scientist if you want to. This also has aliens if you want another occult, which tie into it directly. There's the Doctor career which is more in-depth than the Vet career (both are active ones) because you need more effort to actually diagnose the illnesses in the Sims correctly; there are guides online for that. The Detective career is a bit of both of those; you get some mystery and lock up townies forever lol. And there are Retail lots so you can create a store selling about 80% of everything in the buy catalog, including unlock-able items. You can even sell food and basically run a bakery although the Home Chef Hustle Stuff Pack improves on this idea significantly if that's your main goal. Both of these would be a self-employed career so you'd be deciding when and where to work. Of note, all of the active careers can get repetitive after a certain point but you can also send the Sim into work alone if you need a break from it. If you want more self-employed Sims there are also selling tables in a few different packs, including City Living which is the only one that has a wall that you can sell paintings and other wall items on, up-charging them significantly. The Dine Out pack lets you run a restaurant although you can only be the Manager. With Carl's mods you can play other roles such as Chef and Waiter but you still own the business. This isn't as thrilling but it's nice if you like building things from the ground up or think you'd also use them in other everyday game play. YMMV as to how broken it is; Maxis has fixed bugs in this pack frequently so in theory it should be working okay rn. I suspect a lot of the worst glitches are impacting older saves for people. It's essentially an active career akin to the retail lot system. The Photographer career in the Moschino Stuff Pack is actually pretty interesting if you enjoy taking photos. With the tripod and the position markers, you can take group shots and landscapes more easily. You also have more reason to actually build a studio set-up. You can use the photos as decor of course and sell them on the selling tables. On that note I'd recommend trying out the Freelance Careers from base game if you haven't tried them already. They arrived in an update, I think when Moschino came out, so if you're intrigued by the last one I mentioned, you could try those out to see if you like how it works. Base game has Freelance Artist, Freelance Writer, and Freelance Programmer which function a bit differently from the regular versions of those careers. There's also a Freelance Crafter career in Eco Lifestyle (and the Civil Designer career although that one is more basic but it gives you a method for repairing destroyed furniture which can be fun if you enjoy dumpster diving for random goodies.) The Paranormal Stuff pack has Haunted Houses and a shorter skill which goes with it. Maybe not as replayable back to back but it's pretty solid if you enjoy spooky vibes. Interestingly it's listed as a Freelancer career too. On the base game angle, I'd also consider trying out the Style Influencer career which also came out in an update. It's more of a classic career if memory serves me right but I think you end up creating some Styled looks which other Sims will wear if you choose a specific branch. I'd look it up on the Sims wiki for more info. This isn't me discouraging you, just pointing out some things you might not have played multiple times already. In a completely different direction, I'd consider looking at the Discover University pack because although the three careers it includes aren't that unusual, it adds some potentially interesting game play leading up to your Sim's career which gives them a large head start if they go after a complimentary degree. This applies to the three careers it adds as well as everything else in base game (plus I think every pack's career released before this pack; check the wiki and maybe Carl's old guides for more info.) That could freshen up what you've grown tired of as you spend the first few years chasing good grades instead of those early tier promotions but YMMV. It depends on how much patience you have for what is a tangential process, getting the degree takes time and you have to stay on top of it to pass. There's also other packs with different flavors if you also want a new world. Horse Ranch doesn't make as much money from raising the horses (unless you train them up to become champions and sell them) but you can run a ranch and sell nectar for tons of simoleons. This requires aging the nectar for maximum gains. Edit: Your sim would be self-employed. I'd consider checking out info on any careers that sound interesting and see what else the pack it comes with can add to your overall game play while you wait for that kind of video.
Honestly I bought Stramgerville for like 50% just the military career. However I think discover university is a hidden gem when it comes to jobs! It has lawyer, education and engineer careers which are all fleshed out very well and I use the education and lawyer careers all the time!
buildings in basement are sooo cool, id love to see more of it! being able to change the floorplan to whatever you want is such a flex. the nightclub is one of my favorite community lots of yours, so pretty

I’ve been simming since sims 2 but within the past four months it’s really become a coping skill of mine when dealing with some of the hardest days of my life. My laptop screen broke yesterday beyond use and I can’t play anymore. I’m kinda freaking out 24 hours in but I’m so grateful for your videos. Even if I have to give up my ability to play the game your videos will always be a source of comfort to me and maybe they’ll become me new coping strategy. Thank you for the sims content as always

I got Luxury Party in a bundle when I first bought the Sims 4…I was a little late to the party and didn’t know it was a waste of time and money, yet! I can confirm that it was a useless addition to my game and I rarely use anything from it. Guess that’s why it was bundled with something I wanted🤔 Sneaky!!!😈
I really enjoyed this episode love the vampire night club, the area/world and almost 80s style of lighting and rundown abandoned building ,reminds me of the Vampire film, I loved as a child called "The Lost Boys". 🧛🏻♂️ PLEASE KAYLA definitely create more occult builds especially "Alien Café" 👽👽👽😂it's a need hehe❤
Non sims related, but my cat also goes through phases of her hangout areas 😂 sometimes it depends on the season (i live in Michigan so we have actual seasons). Sometimes she will be obsessed with a spot for MONTHS before she decides to not go back for like a year.
Can we talk about how stupid is the fact I logged on for the whole event when you got rewards so I'd have them, just so my game could break so I had to reinstall it a month later and obviously not know to save all the game data so I now don't have the items because they are tied to one stupid file on one given computer. So frustrating.
Apparently you can edit the UserSetting file in the Sims 4 folder and get the items back. I haven’t tried it myself though, but people have said it works

Because luxury party was free, I have it and use it from time to time. I put the glow cube in my gaming venue, it just felt like something a kistchy venue would choose. And I also use the three paneled light from luxury party stuff a lot. It's the best way (from the free packs) to fake a back glow on a tv.

I got Luxury Party in a bundle when I first bought the Sims 4…I was a little late to the party and didn’t know it was a waste of time and money, yet! I can confirm that it was a useless addition to my game and I rarely use anything from it. Guess that’s why it was bundled with something I wanted🤔 Sneaky!!!😈

I really enjoyed this episode love the vampire night club, the area/world and almost 80s style of lighting and rundown abandoned building ,reminds me of the Vampire film, I loved as a child called "The Lost Boys". 🧛🏻♂️

Non sims related, but my cat also goes through phases of her hangout areas 😂 sometimes it depends on the season (i live in Michigan so we have actual seasons). Sometimes she will be obsessed with a spot for MONTHS before she decides to not go back for like a year.

Can we talk about how stupid is the fact I logged on for the whole event when you got rewards so I'd have them, just so my game could break so I had to reinstall it a month later and obviously not know to save all the game data so I now don't have the items because they are tied to one stupid file on one given computer. So frustrating.

Apparently you can edit the UserSetting file in the Sims 4 folder and get the items back. I haven’t tried it myself though, but people have said it works

Because luxury party was free, I have it and use it from time to time. I put the glow cube in my gaming venue, it just felt like something a kistchy venue would choose.
And I also use the three paneled light from luxury party stuff a lot. It's the best way (from the free packs) to fake a back glow on a tv.
in my head the fountain is definitely a “plasma” fountain
