技术上来说，张本的中近台快速衔接和抗打能力刚好能逸制林诗栋的反手暴拧和中远台的力量加旋转！另外无缝球相对来说对林诗栋更不利！再就是，在疲痨作战时最怕松懈，在第一局大比分领先后林诗栋肯定放松了，从而造成了之后的身体和精神都难顶住了！孙颖莎输美和也是如此！教练都应该事先提醒，应该是没做到！林诗栋还有个问题是，和实力差不多的打，上次赢了比赛，下次再和这个人打时，就有心态问题，放不开！这一点要好好学学樊振东！

林诗栋绝对不可能成为马龙那样的球员，为什么？这是由于林的身体原因。林身材矮，手臂短，体型又胖，与马龙的身材天赋天壤之别，打林只要注意运用两招儿：第一，发球，接球摆短他的正手位，近网或小三角，林如果搓，就打死，林如果拉不是触网就是出界；第二，发球接球，用下底长球到林的反手位，做到急一些高一些以上旋为主，最好是到反手位底角，林的反手撕拧都无法有效施展。今天张本得分大多是这样的球。
