    Made me smile to see young people laughing with their friends or people just relaxing on the lounge after a long day of shopping. Another thing i notice is how much Australians love to eat out, just watching them hang out at coffee shops or catching up with friends/family at restaurants.

    I remember going to the mall in my younger years at the South Side Mall in Goody, Kentucky . The mall was busy with the young folks cruising around on the weekends , the mall is located on a hill its view is beautiful. This mall in Australia reminds me of those days . I miss them . The mall is now still going but has no where near the foot traffic. The internet and cell phones have hurt us all to a degree.

    One of the best walking tours. Providing future travellers a comprehensive experience of the city and it's offerings. Would love to see chadstone.
    Airport tours of changi (food court, duty free, shopping etc), and other airports like Dubai international airport and Melbourne airport would be lovely. Capturing your airport travels would be awesome!
    I wish you would visit Dubai as well. They have tons of places to see. Hopefully you can do some tours there as well.

      Wished I had known about Chadstone while I was in Melbourne. I was told of Melbourne Central, DFO and Emporium Central so decided to make a trip here. Will remember to drop by Chadstone if I am ever in Melbourne. I did videos of Changi and its various terminals, you can check them out in my playlist section.
      I haven't been to Dubai yet, always been taking direct flights to Europe. But perhaps I will find a reason to stopover in Dubai one day. Thanks again for the comment TT247 and hope to hear more from you =)

      @@DiscoveryWalkingToursTV I'm sure you will make it to Melbourne some other time. Quite frankly I was looking for the Emporium mall video when I found your channel. So things work in mysterious ways 😄.
      I went through some of your other videos and I have to say, the camera stability, capturing the proper hustle n bustle of the places you have visited and the smooth angles and picture quality is absolutely amazing. I have found only a handful of folks on youtube with that skillset. You've got a gift my friend.
      The reason I mentioned airports, like Dubai, Singapore and Melbourne is because many travellers wonder what it'll be like when you get off the plane or how much is a certain product worth in the city. Those videos get tons of views, if done properly. Plus, even though I'm an Austinite and a NewYorker, my 3 favorite cities in the whole world are Dubai, Melbourne and Singapore. I do have my second tier, but those are my favorite cities of all time.
      Yes, I saw you've done some videos on Changi. Am excited to watch those for sure!
      Oh I sure hope you can make it to Dubai. It's an amazing city.
      Keep up the great work. You're doing an amazing job! 😀

      Thanks for the compliments 😄 My film skills are still a work in progress but its nice to be appreciated.
      I am happy you shared your thoughts on the filming of the airports. I have to make sure to devote a bit of time to film inside. Also a silent reminder to stopover in Dubai one day. I don't know if its a fair comparison but I only ever did one stopover in Doha airport. If Dubai's airport is anything close to it, it will be stunning.
      Hope to see you in my other walks Traffic247. Keep in touch 😄

    Very nice mall! It seems that most malls in Australia are on a number of levels, whereas in Canada (where I live) and United States they tend to be sprawling one or two level things.
    That older building in the middle is particularly cool, like nothing I have ever seen in my travels in North America!

    • @DiscoveryWalkingToursTV
      @DiscoveryWalkingToursTV  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Chris. Thanks for sharing about the malls in Canada. I haven't had a chance to visit your country yet but I'm keen to understand what sprawling means 😂 the malls I have been to in Melbourne and Singapore thus far are all built upwards (due to space constrain in the city centre)

    • @chrislewis615
      @chrislewis615 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@DiscoveryWalkingToursTV Sprawling means goes all over the place. Not a neat straight line or circle. You can get lost easily in some larger malls due to lack of straightforward layout, a bit of a maze or labyrinth. Obviously done on purpose.

      @@DiscoveryWalkingToursTV Why not check out a video or two West Edmonton Mall (Canada) or Mall of America (USA) . There are plenty of them out there.
      Oh yes, as a side note, dead malls particularly in the United States are a thing. "This is Dan Bell" is a great filmographer that has documented dozens of dead malls that are in various states of decay. Too many malls built that couldn't handle The Great Recession.

    • @DiscoveryWalkingToursTV
      @DiscoveryWalkingToursTV  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@chrislewis615 yup I watched a couple of videos from Dan and his "dead mall" series. Very fascinating stuff. Its interesting how malls evolve over time to cater to a different crowd and demographic. The mall scene has changed a fair bit in Singapore as well but we haven't had a mall "abandoned" yet. I guess if it does happen the building will either be repurposed into something else or just torn down to be rebuilt.
