Great video! I have a high energy 3-year old F1B Labradoodle that most groomers don't have the patience to deal with. Been grooming her myself since she was 1--got tired of the incomplete cuts. We prefer the teddybear face with a short-cut body and a little longer hair the legs. Haven't been able to get the body and legs quite right though. We've got an Andis AGC2 clipper with 10 and 30 blades, and a set of Wahl stainless guide combs. Gonna look into some 3, 4, and 7 blades to see if they work any better than the combs though. Extremely helpful video. Thanks!
this is the video I was looking for- thank you so much! I just groomed my standard poodle for the 1st time - using the 10 blade that came with it - the Wahl KM 10- that was the only blade with it - so that is what I used- my dog now has clumps and a couple of bald spots when my hand slipped- but I didnt put the blade against the skin- just skimmed the edges of her poodle hair off- well, I learned- my groomer was using a 4 , I think- I plan on grooming her every 6 weeks. I did not skip the brushing, washing and drying parts. My Wahl KM 10 does not have a 3 3/4 option- so I best get the 4.I read where groomers do not like to do shorter than a 7, unless the dog is really matted. I do not understand why Wahl sells it with a 10 blade. We novices don't want our dogs looking like they got their first hair cut with the marines. Do you think the 4 is enough? Or do you recommend the 4 and the 7? Thank you.
@@chronically_chloe THANK YOU-!!!! I'm going to do a second grooming soon, Will some more videos before hand for a how to reminder. I'm going to pray up first. Thanks again.
Maybe you’ve already discovered this in the year since this comment, but if you haven’t , good news! Your Wahl KM 10 is a professional quality clipper that uses standardized blades. You’re not limited to Wahl brand blades, so you can get any size in any brand and they’ll fit your clippers 😊
Hi Patty, thanks this video. I have adopted two short haired rescue dogs with lots of bites (insects) on their legs. I want to shave their legs so I can apply disinfectant and antibiotic creams more effectively. I saw your video on shaving the belly, so I understand the slow careful technique, and keeping the proper angle. am wondering what blade size to use for legs? Also any recommendations for a budget priced shaver just for occasional home use? Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom with your videos.I appreciate you.
How the heck do you get seven thumbs up for sounding mean ? She doesn't sound mean to me at all . Anyhow thanks for sharing your knowledge. I appreciate it.
Well its like this. People on the internet are MEAN MEAN MEAN. I get NOTHING FOR MY VIDEOS. I do this to be nice and so many hate Me. I have nearly stopped posting the instructional videos. Thank you for being kind. It isnt easy to be criticized for everything you do.

Get a 4. If you reverse shave, the 4 turns into a 7:)
