For equivalent ratio, only can use multiply or divide. For example, 1: 2 not equivalent to 1^2 : 2^2.

Use common factor. For example, 2 is the common factor of 6 and 10, that means 6 and 10 can be divided exactly by 2. 6/2=3 , 10/2=5. 3 is not common factor of 6 and 10. 6/3=2 , 10/3= 3.333 ...
