Thank you again so much for doing this. These stories are meant for story telling and it's great someone is passing them on in a language I can understand.
I just purchased your audiobook of the Poetic Edda. Once done I’ll buy your other translation as well. I cant think of a better way to spend time in LA’s traffic. Actually look forward to it on the way to and from work. Keep up the amazing work and thank you for teaching us history on TH-cam. 👍🏻😎
sir i hope u have had an amazing birthday, thanks for all the knowledge. Ive been folowing thee since 2017 From beautifull Mexico, im wishing you all the best.
Oh man I hope I'll be able to see a new Dr Crawford video soon....we've got a huge hurricane about to kick the crap out of Florida so I may be without power for a few days
In school (yes we learn about these things in Denmark) the monster is described as a bear. Maybe some old mistranslation or poetic license from my teacher...
Anders Hoegild That's from Saxo's version of the tale and not the saga's. Og forresten, så mindes jeg ikke at have haft om Rolf Krake da jeg gik i skole.
Yeah crazy, I don't know much about Beowulf, but apparently enough to recognize the same similarities that you did. I was just thinking about whether you had done a video on Beowulf or not when you noted the similarities.

It’s your birthday and yet you’re giving us the gift of the word bikkja. You’re too kind.

@@holmgeirgautreksson2451 Thanks!
In Claus Deleuran's comic book retelling, *Bjarkes Saga* (1968) the monster is also a bear.

Great video. I loved the crack about how cutthroat academia is now days
Ha ha haaa... "Only academia works that way these days"
Can you do a video on Draupnir, i am a bit confused if it is an arm ring or a ring. Different sources say different things.
Joeri Tremio I’ve always thought of it as an arm ring :-)
Re the Bear signs: is there anything that is indeed bear-proof???
Do you go out of your way to make me homesick on purpose?
Dont you dare throw dem bones!!
yes more swear words please in old norse
