They weren't all that to be honest. The farm rolls have now gone mainstream with names of other vitolas to appeal to tourists. The farm rolls of yesteryear were small like petit coronas bc farmers only have time for a 20 min smoke. Those were the best
@@KimoKapaku yes! That makes sense. I recall seeing a previous video of a plantation where the farmer was rolling/selling bundles of basically what appeared to be a Monte no.4 or Partagas Mille Fleurs. I tell ya...I would've given anything to grab a bundle or 2 of those to stash in my humi.🏆
Jeff, it has been historically cheaper for a few reasons: 1) the shop or manager has a connection to buy the tobacco direct from the farm (10% of the tobacco grown by each farmer belongs to the farm, 90% goes to the govt); 2) the torcedor or roller keeps all of the money or splits a portion with the shop manager. The govt doesn't receive anything to my knowledge but I could be wrong; 3)The custom rolls are not under govt pricing structure so the price is set by the roller and/or manager. Some of the famous custom rollers historically are Reynaldo Jimenez and Alex Gonzalez, both of whom no longer are in Havana. Alex Gonzales is now in Los Angeles, CA working with the owner Adrian of the cigar shop "MI Habana' (both great guys!) Reynaldo Jimenez is living in Cancun and is rolling his customs at the LCDH shop in Cancun.
Nice videos thanks for sharing.
HOW MANY BOXES ARE WE ALLOWED TO TAKE WITH US OUTSIDE CUBA ??? IS THERE ANY RESTRICTIONS OR QUANTITY LIMIT ?
Legally and technically you cannot bring any Cuban products into the U.S.
I wonder how these taste and are constructed in comparison to a boxed BHK 56 from El Laguito? The vitolas and cabinets look great.

What happened at 11min15? Did he get angry?
Lol...no just joking around with the roller is all
Why are the hand rolled cigars cheaper? Because the name brand isn’t on them?
