- A street dog was curled up in a ball on the side of the road. He was suffering from severe mange and had completely given up hope. Just watch his transformation after we rescued him and gave him the medical care he desperately needed.

I had an argument recently with a user on youtube who said that dogs are better off as strays instead of family pets, that the dogs in Western world are basically caged up. This was one of my arguments on why he was completely wrong. Every dog should have a loving home, with a warm bed, good food to eat everyday, and an owner to love unconditionally. They are NOT better off on the streets. I went ahead and donated, I'm happy people and organizations like these exists.

Those people forget that the world isn't how it used to be and that these dogs are not wild dogs.
Unless they were lucky enough to be near some woods (where they can find food and water for themselves, MAYBE), they would probably end up like this poor dog or being run over.

Dogs and humans belong together. We created them, and we owe them for that.
Feral dog packs are unsustainable. Left on their own, the packs quickly die out from disease, infighting, and starvation - they rely on a regular injection of new strays to keep the pack going. These animals are not wild, not any more, and they can't live on their own. It is our duty as their creators to care for them when they need it, and we enrich one another's lives immensely by that relationship.

I started crying after I saw him smile and healthy. It really pains me to see animals go through such things. Very happy he was taken care of and was able to make a nice recovery!

If I saw someone kick the poor ill creature as it lay there minding it's own business, my head would boil over with anger. That's cruel and unnecessary.
The bit that probably makes me a hypocrite, and I don't care by the way, is that I'd happily batter the dog kicker unconscious.
The fact is I feel enormous empathy for dogs, especially these unwell unloved street dogs, but I feel nothing towards humans, that type of human anyway.
