- Three gorgeous puppies were encased in hardened road tar when our rescue team arrived, and their sibling had died from the toxic hardened tar. Two of the three had made their way back to their mother with tar over half their little bodies.
But one was stuck to the earth, and to avoid pulling her skin off, rescuers had to cut and pry big slabs of stone and tar to carry with her to the hospital where all 3 puppies would undergo hours of labor as Animal Aid staff and volunteers softened the tar by soaking it in cooking oil and pulling it off little bit by bit.
The puppies' little faces could not have looked more forlorn. By the time the tar was removed, they were soooo exhausted. But all the more WONDERFUL to see them playing in joy after a good night's sleep in the furry warmth of their Momma.

The worst part is that her sibling has died.
I know it has a happy end at least,but the deceased sibling next to the puppy just make the whole thing really sad,because unlike the other puppy,it was too late for him/her..and couldn't be helped.

She probably knew! Dogs can smell the "intentions" of other creatures trough their horomones (eg: if they feel "anger" in other, they become more carefull and defensive). Altough she didn't really come close enough to smell their... parts, she could probably tell that they weren't threats.

@happyvac greetingsfrombill are you okay? Dogs live outside quite often. They're called strays. Tar is also found outside often. It's called tar. If a dog finds tar, it gets stuck. That's called being stuck in tar. That doesnt mean a human put them there, it means nature heated up tar so it was sticky, and a dog walked into it
