  • The stepwells have been used in India for 1500 years for collection and storage of water, over the time they evolved into complex works of art and architecture.
Rani-ki-Vav (the Queen’s Stepwell) in Patan, Gujarat, India was built in the 11th century AD. It is UNESCO World Heritage site for: "Rani-ki-Vav was built at the height of craftsmens’ ability in stepwell construction and the Maru-Gurjara architectural style, reflecting mastery of this complex technique and great beauty of detail and proportions. Designed as an inverted temple highlighting the sanctity of water, it is divided into seven levels of stairs with sculptural panels of high artistic quality; more than 500 principle sculptures and over a thousand minor ones combine religious, mythological and secular imagery, often referencing literary works." (quote from whc.unesco.org/en/list/922)
The Sun Temple in Modhera was built in 11th century AD, it is another stunning architectural creation of the Indian architects of the past. In front of the temple is the stepped tank/reservoir.
The Adalaj Stepwell, near Ahmedabad was built at the end of the 15th century, it is intricately carved and is five stories deep.
Recorded January 2018 in 4K Ultra HD with Sony AX100 and a6300.

It is BBC , CNN type Western media which projected India as a poor and shitty country. Mulslim rulers destroyed many beautiful structures. Britishers looted wealth. For past 70 years leftist, Congress governments in India only projected Muslim monuments built or modified on Hindu temples and ancient monuments. Example Taj Mahal. Ancient history of India is distorted or faked by main stream media. Reasons are obvious. Because of Internet growth, many people are realising the truth now.

@@lnvsap4115 pffff, taj mahal was a hindu monument. That theory has already been debunked mate. Taj mahal is a masterpiece created by one and only shah jahan. Just becoz your rulers didn't build anything like that, dosen't mean you gonna claim others property. Be proud on what you have, and not on what others have.

Daniella Evans, nobody denied TajMahal was built by Shahjahan. Did anybody deny it? 🤔 Our cin CNN lusion is that before that a majestic Shiva Temple was built and Muslim ruler destroyed the temple over there they built Mosque just because to erase Sanatana dharma from India. Still below inside Tajmahal Hindu tempke column are there and the passage to going inside is sealed of so that nobody can trace of it but of you see it you will find it. You dont know how many temples, ancient library, university, monuments they have destroyed, looted in north india just because to erase sanatana dharma which is combined of Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism. But if you go extreme south you will find Architectural marvel of ancient Hindu Temple, if you go east you will find the same but you will never find the same in north and north west which was contineously invaded and ruled by muslims.

The terracotta temples which are around 300-400 years old are amazing and one of it's kind. Bengal also used to host ancient universities which are over a 1000 years old but they are mostly there as archaeological sites as the buildings have been destroyed during invasions. But the ruins are till there.

I plan to visit India someday. What kind of transportation do you usually use in India? And if you could give me some advice on your trip to India, I would appreciate it.

Use Ola app for common and special people's, use buses and trains for sher budgets (too short budget)

U can visit India between November to February in winter season. Temperature is too hot in summer. You can book ola/uber 24*7. Trains and buses are available and cheap. See bald and bakrupt, Mr harald baldr's vlogs.
