DIY dry creek bed

Despite installing a 2 tiered retaining wall and regrading the backyard in 2020, I was still getting water, pooling up in my lower backyard, and occasionally flowing under the basement door, and down the basement drain. This was my solution to fix it. I am not a professional landscaper. My hope is that this will mitigate the problem. But I will never know. Because I don't live there anymore. And there won't be any heavy storms likely until spring. This was a problem I tried to fix because I was selling my house. But I do think the end result is attractive and has a chance to slow down the pooling of water during heavy storms.
