I have the same thing now with 5 port. Going to 8 port with new 34. The 5 port has had no problems. I think it cost me a total of $30/$40 total. I make my own cables. Tooling to make cables cost about $30 including ends. You can purchase the waterproof ends from Garmin for $10. for 2 of them. I use them on my screens. The ones at hub are in dry storage, so no problem.

For anybody looking to do this, you can get VERY cheaply get USB powered network switches. Having just snagged two $299 Echomap 74xsv from West Marine (crazy sale), I just bought a 3 port on Amazon for seven bucks, and plugged it into an SAE 12v to USB phone charger I already had on hand. Plugged in my LiveScope black box (the OG, from my icefishing rig) and it works a treat.
For what it is worth, cables don't seem to matter; I tried one crossover cable and one regular old cat6 cable, and both seem to work great.

I'm running (3) UHD93SV... (1) Plus 93SV...also LiveScope 34 on my Garmin Hub w/o any issues. I have two different transducer's on my boat... (1) for UHD93SV and (1) for Plus 93SV. I can switch them back and forth w/o any issues if I want. It was worth spending $249.00 and knowing it was setup right from the beginning. I spent the money because I don't want Garmin to question me if I EVER have to send a unit back to them for warranty.

These companies are hosing us, people need to understand this. We are paying 3x or 4x what this technology is worth and companies like Garmin exploit the fact that a lot of people don't understand how or why. This network hub is a perfect example and another one is the fact that a HDMI port could be included on all these fish finders (not just 2 or 3 models) allowing us to simply plug our unit into a 22inch computer monitor. But then they can't charge us an extra $2000 for a 2inch bigger screen. Its a scam and we're all buying into it.
